ch 10. Oak Treants Great Beast

ch 10. Oak Treants Great Beast

My first idea is to reposition the village houses and put them in some kind of order. Of course, the current village is already in a proper position, but it is quite random, with some important or frequently visited places placed way behind other normal houses.

Master Hokai, the oldest and also one who was publicly elected as the head of the village, is supposed to live on the main road where everyone can easily access it instead of hiding behind other houses. The same applies to Kuidres' homes and any other villagers with similar roles and positions.

Relocation is not an easy thing, I know, especially since I asked them to re-align their houses so they face a similar direction. This means that we have to literally take every house apart and build it anew, which will take a lot of effort.

Along with this, I also give them my second idea, which is a sewer line where every used piece of water from every home can be deposited to flow into the field. This water, since there is no dangerous chemicals yet, will be good for the growth of the plants in the field. Of course, they might stink, and the amount of water needs to be controlled, but that is a good way to reuse the wasted water instead of letting it go into a hole.

These three ideas invoked a great deal of questioning from the villagers and even more from Master Hokai. They want to know where I got these ideas and why I thought they were good. Of course, I explain to them everything I know regarding the sewer and relocation, how it would make them more sanitary, and how the wastewater would be useful for the plants. I just kept the origin of my idea a secret, saying it was from the land of the Great Beast.

After about three hours of long interviews, mostly with Master Hokai, they finally accepted my idea and decided to make the change. There is just one thing.

"Then can you help us get some wood, Lord Yohan?"

"Get the wood? Is there any forest around here?"

"No, not a forest. There is no forest in this grassland, as far as anyone notices.

but we have something else.

We have the Treants. tree spirit that lives around their Great Beast, the Oak Treant."

"So there is another Great Beast nearby other than Livia. "

"That is the problem.

The treants are not nearby.

They are a week's distance for us to the north."

"I see, I can make it shorter.

How much do you need?"

"For our village, one tree is more than enough.

We can use the rabbit's fur and bones as additional resources.

but please be careful, Lord Yohan.

Treants were not easy opponents."

"I understand. I will take care of myself."

I left the village the day after.

Face smiling and happily walking into the distance while internally crying. Last time it was Bunny, now it's Treant. What will come next? ghost?

All this battle makes me tired. I was an office worker, and my only struggle was going home at the proper hour. Being suddenly thrown into a world where fighting is the main method of solving issues is really putting me on the edge. It gets even worse when the world itself is set to put me in battle.

But somehow, I didn't hate this world. Sure, the battle stinks, and I don't have much experience with battle. I barely have any motivation to survive and fight. which makes me think, What if I am offered to leave this world somehow? Should I leave it? or maybe I will decide to stay?

I am thinking about this because I realize that living with the Boroboro Village people is not that bad. Sometimes I even get the feeling that I am more free and happy in this world compared to my own. Sure, I don't have my wife and child here, but they didn't lose me either. which means there is nothing to change back home. Everything is fine, and my world is safe.

I am the only one who feels this change. I am the only one who got stuck in this battle world, fighting in some kind of tournament I didn't assign. all for the prize I didn't ask for. which means I can just die, and nothing bad will change. Or maybe everything will get better?

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

I remember Luvia and her mission to destroy the villages around her. My presence stopped her plan, sparing Boroboro Village and possibly many other communities terrorized by Luvia. Is that my reason to be here? as a balancing force against the terror of this world?

I think I am so deep in my own thoughts that I didn't realize that the sky has gone dark and my path is no longer visible. I decided to get some rest on the side road, sitting over the thick grass that made me feel like it was a sofa.

The darkness around me makes me shift my attention to the only source of light that only appears at night, which is the stars and moons. It just came to my attention that there are three moons in the sky, each with a different color, which is red, blue, and green.

How these three moons affect the world and the physics behind them is a mystery to me.

Other than the moon, the stars also amaze me to no end. It also gave clear proof that I was no longer on the planet where I was coming from, as the stars above were showing a different kind of formation than what they were supposed to be back home.

Yes, I said I was supposed to. I lived in a city from the moment I was born until I was an adult. Seeing a star in the sky was a luxury for me—a luxury I never tasted.

The morning finally comes, and I get to continue my journey.

To hasten the process, I decided to jog lightly, which also works as a form of morning exercise. I never have the mental strength to do this kind of thing in the morning. I guess that is what makes living here great—no gadgets to distract you from a good life.

I jogged for an hour, then continued with a run for the next few hours until I found a pool of water not too far from the road. I go to that pool and take a few sips of water before I sit down to get some rest.

Being alone like this allows me to think quite a lot. contemplating and figuring out my main motivation in this world, aside from obeying the blue screen. I took a look at the blue screen a while ago, and there is no change in there, which brings me to a lot more questions that I cannot answer myself.

I rest for an hour, then continue my journey with a light jog for the rest of the day until I finally see it. At a far distance from me, right at the end of the road, is a small forest made of old and tall trees. Every single one of them can easily reach tens of meters tall, with the biggest one, which I believe is the Great Beast Oak Treant, reaching a height of twenty meters.

I keep up at my current speed and finally reach the edge of the forest when the sun is about to set on the horizon. While there is still a bit of light, I try to look around the forest, inspecting some trees on the outer side.

At a glance from the outside, there is nothing weird about this forest. It's just a bunch of trees that line up randomly, without any particular order. Several types of trees can be found in this forest, and many of these trees look like they belong to a different environment.

but that is from the outside. If I look from the inside, I realize that every single tree in this forest is one of those trees. Their face is poorly concealed by the way their bark is shaped. They all look to be sleeping, so it is likely that they will be awake very soon. It will be very bad for me to remain in their midst when they wake up.

I quickly leave the forest and run for some distance, hiding myself as much as I can within the tall grass as my only cover. The grass can barely cover me, but at least I tried!

Soon, the sun will have fully set and the moon will begin to emerge. When the moon shines on the forest, the trees begin to move. They uprooted themselves from the ground and began to move around. They talk to each other in an unknown language, probably unique for their own kind.

The forest began to expand as the treants started to walk away, making distance from one another.

I think Treant's body shape is quite unique. Their lower body consists of two legs or more that are made out of roots. The legs are mostly in sync with the trunk, but some have small legs and a big trunk, while others have them otherwise.

For their upper body, things get quite weird and random. Some of the treants have full-grown trees as their upper body, while others have humanoid shapes made out of trunks and branches.

The Great Beast Oak Treants, which I can see from a distance, are the weirdest of them all. He is literally an oak tree with a face that walks with his roots that act as legs.

Ever thought about a lion fighting a tree? Yeah, it will be a good joke.

The Oak Treant looks around with his woody eyes calmly, watching the wide horizon with such tranquility that it makes you feel like he is a harmless old tree. But no great beast will ever be harmless.

As I watched in awe, a single treant suddenly found my hiding spot and began to roar. Alerting other traitors to my presence.

Panic begins to fill my head, but before I can drown in it, my skill, Beast Mind, is activated, and suddenly the world is changed in my eyes.

I know this is not perfect, but I can see which one of these treants will pose a danger to me. At the same time, my skill, Hybrid Instinct, flares up, alerting me to many dangers around me. Mostly from the treants.

GROOOOOOOO!!!

One of the Treants charged at me with its thick branches swinging randomly in the air. This is one of those that has a tree as its upper body.

I quickly jump to the side, avoiding the wild branches that somehow manage to hit the place I was in a second ago. Then I began to run to the side, trying to confuse the Treant.

Another Treant came to me from the side and tried to block my way. I quickly changed directions and ran to another side. I realized that if things keep going like this, I will be trapped soon and become fertilizer.

"GREAT BEAST OAK TREANTS!

I AM HERE TO TALK TO YOU!

COME OUT AND TALK TO ME AS WE ARE BOTH GREAT BEAST. "

I shout as loud as I can while trying to avoid the treants. Oak Treants remains silent, and I am forced to call him once again.

"OAK TREANTS!

COME OUT AND TALK TO ME! "

I am still running in circles, and this Great Beast seems to be the kind that refuses to talk. This means I have to go the hard way.

Just as I was about to change my method, a rumbling sound was heard from behind the Treants.

"Be patient, boy!

It's early in the day, and you think it's good to disturb me like this? "

it seems our understanding of the word 'early' is different, you old saplings!
