Bwooooonnggg!
The sound of a trumpet put Yohan on high alert as he started to look at the location of the sound. Three Smilursa were seen in the distance, galloping steadily toward the village as if they owned the place.
"This little halfbreed really gets on my nerves! "
Yohan started to run toward the little Smilursa while the villagers evacuated themselves away from the beast. Yohan was halfway toward the three Smilursa when he heard another trumpet sound.
Bwooooonnggg!
Yohan looks back toward the sound and sees another five Smilursa, running as fast as they can into the village as if they were crazy.
"Two front attacks!! Sly bastard! "
Yohan was about to continue his step towards the first three, trying to finish them off before changing his target, only to be surprised as the first three Smilursa were already running away from him.
Bwoooonggg!!
Another trumpet sound was heard and Yohan could see another three Smilursa running toward the village, claws and fangs ready to kill any human they saw.
Yohan ran as fast as he could toward the second group, who stop their speeding run so suddenly and turned back. Yohan was surprised once again. It seems the Smilursa trying to tire him out before actually engaging in battle with him.
Yohan will not let the Smilursa have their way!
"Villagers!
To the village center! "
Led by Hokai, the villagers quickly moved to the village center where Yohan firmly standing. He looks around at the Smilursa who watching from the distance, waiting for something.
"What should we do, My Lord! "
It was Hokai who spoke, representing the other villagers to ask Yohan. Meanwhile, Yohan mind was elsewhere, thinking about the worst possibility of his decision.
'The big Smilursa might come soon, challenging me in a fight that i cannot escape from.
Meanwhile, the smaller one will come charging at the villagers, killing them off like a bug. '
Drowned in his own thoughts, Yohan didn't hear Hokai's voice calling to him until he decided to hit Yohan's feet just to catch his attention.
"Lord Yohan!
Tell us what to do! We are all here under your command! "
Yohan looked down toward Hokai, who was fuming with discontent and confusion. He, along with everybody else, was scared of death.
Yohan looks at their eyes and feels the burden of a leader. He has taken responsibility to keep humans safe, and his determination was tested again.
"I.... Don't know what you should do..
I might not be able to protect you all this time. "
"Then let us protect ourselves against the smaller one.
You can go kill the big one.
The smaller one will leave once the big one is killed. "
Yohan looked at Hokai, who talked so confidently in front of him. Sometimes, Yohan wonders how Hokai can have such vast knowledge about the Great Beast. Especially for one who was not supposed to know anything.
"Can you all fight the small Smilursa? "
"We can try. "
Yohan looked at the other villagers. Some have doubt in their eyes as if they didn't really agree with what Hokai said to them. But these groups cannot say otherwise. They want to survive, which means they need to at least defend themselves instead of relying on Yohan. Or so they think.
"Hmm, I understand. Go get your tools, weapon, or anything you can use to fight.
You will defend yourself from now on. "
Hokai's eyes were shining so bright. His skinny old wrinkled body somehow looks filled with muscle, limp outdated muscle. Yohan can only smile a little while seeing Hokai become active and arrange the villagers.
Meanwhile, Yohan started to make plans for his own. He lets the villagers defend themselves, but he won't let them fight too much. He will kill as many Smilursa as he can and only leave a few for the villagers to fight.

There is no more attack that day, which means the villagers can go home to get some rest. They still carry their tools and weapons though, just in case they need to defend themselves under surprise attack.
When the villagers go to rest, Yohan decides to take the battle to his enemy's place.
He tried to move as silently as possible, which somehow he could do very well, to the place where the Smilursa used to appear. When he was close to the location where they used to appear, Yohan could vividly see some footprints on the soft ground.
Yohan tried his best to read the footprint, but it seemed like too many of them were running around, which made the footprints look more like it was the footprints from a chaotic war.
Following the track of chaotic steps on the ground, Yohan can vaguely guess where the Smilursa come from. He tried to follow the footprints as best as he could and finally saw a few Smilursa, resting under the shade of thick grass.
Yohan approaches them as silently as he can and when he reaches them, he kills the Smilursa one by one. Yohan first grabbed the small Smilursa snouts, then followed by grabbing their neck to block their breathing tube.
With both parts secured in his hand, Yohan finished the small Smilursa by squishing the neck, breaking and tearing it apart at the same time. Yohan did that a few times and killed all the small Smilursa before going back to the Boroboro Village to get some rest.

When morning comes, the villagers can take a good breath of fresh air as there has been no attack since last night. They get their share of food from the General Storage before they separate themselves to their daily task.

Meanwhile, Yohan chooses to stay a bit away from the village, trying to keep to himself while protecting the village.
At this time, Yohan begins to wonder how to protect his village. Sure fighting against enemies who come to his village is a thing, but he cannot just wait for the enemy to come before defeating them. Yohan needs a deterrent, a way to make his enemies think twice before attacking his village.
Unfortunately, there is nothing like communication tools or community news that can help to spread the news of his power. Yohan had an idea about shouting out loud about his might but then removed the idea because it would make him feel like an employee under detention.
The only other thing that Yohan knew might have a relation to communication was the blue screen of pure joy and hope. That thing was still a mystery for Yohan as he only used it purely to check on his progress in rank.
Yohan tried to summon the blue screen and fiddle with it to no avail. There is nothing in the blue screen that could help him to spread his news or at least to let others know about his power.
Running out of ideas, Yohan can only resign himself to the oldest method that ever existed. That is to Tell anyone he met about his prowess as if he was a narcissistic thug. That is the only way.
He will also need the villagers to spread the news about his might to any new people they meet if they ever leave the village which is probably never gonna happen. The only way for them to ever leave their village was by surviving together with Yohan and thriving until the village was no longer enough for them.
Yohan decided that the time to think was over. He knows that there will be no attack today, as he just killed a few small Smilursa before as a warning. This means there is only one thing he can do, train.

Smilursa can only shake his head in amazement. That lion half-breed can even think about giving a sneak attack on his kin and even killing them brutally. Something that is supposed to be a Smilursa thing.
Smilursa then looks around, looking at his smaller kin whose number getting smaller every day. Some died in battle while some ran away in fear, afraid to face the lion man once again.
"It seems like I need to go myself.
Otherwise, you all will die sooner or later. "
Of course, Smilursa will not let that Lion Man fight him just like that. In direct confrontation, Smilursa can be sure that his chance of winning was around fifty to sixty percent. It just that Smilursa hates to give his enemies a chance to fight back.
Smilursa then begins to devise a plan to make the Lion Man lose his focus in battle, distracted and unable to put his mind in one place from worries and fear.
Smilursa then directs his kin to move to certain places and positions, with a strict order to not engage in battle against the Great Beast and escape if they're found out. Smilursa himself will take that Lion Man, alone and directly like a Great Beast is supposed to be.

Hokai was busy giving orders, directing where people should go and where people should hide. At this moment, there are no old Hokai who have difficulties walking.
Hokai didn't even care if he shouted at a child or an adult almost as old as himself, he was now a war general and whatever he said must be done perfectly. The villagers started to gather their tools and makeshift weapons, anything that could help them harm the creatures.
The villagers then stand at their designated location, ready to fight for their lives and defend their homes. Until morning came and no attack happened.
Feeling disappointed, Hokai ordered the villagers to go back to their homes or room to rest. Hokai then looked at Yohan, who was still ready to fight. Hokai felt ashamed that his weak human body could only push itself for a single night.
After resting, Hokai and the other villagers go back to their daily activities as if there is nothing happened. They still carry their tools and makeshift weapons though, in case the battle breaks out suddenly and they have to fight again.
Everyone goes back to their activities but Hokai, who is in the middle of thinking. He knew he was already too old but he always thought that he could still do something, anything, to make a difference in the village.
Lately his hope appears to be in vain. His old body unable to work like how he used to be. A general of an old destroyed kingdom. The memories of that kingdom have become a blur in Hokai's mind, but the experience still remains within him. Waiting uselessly in the depth of his mind.
A few weeks passed by with nothing important happening.
Every day Hokai will look out for Yohan who has developed a new habit of changing places to sleep every night. Hokai didn't know why and somehow felt like he was no longer worthy to ask. Instead, Hokai spend his time withering away in his room, sometimes going out only to look at the development of the village that started to grow fine even without his direction.
With a walking cane in his hand, the sad old Hokai walked to the edge of the village to think and enjoy the boring view of the Great Grassland when something happened.
A Smilursa, the small one, suddenly pounced on Hokai who could only defend himself with his walking cane. A week ago, the villagers started to slack on their duties as lookouts. They sometimes leave their post ahead of their time or even don't go to the tower at all.
That act of negligence has resulted in Hokai being assaulted by the Smilursa and can only struggle weakly. With the last of his power left, Hokai put everything in his chest and shouted as loud as he could.
"HEEELLPPPP!!!! "
