As Alexei processed the revelation delivered by the Nexus, his instincts, and potent and explosive surge of anger, kicked in. The name and accompanying information triggered a surge of energy within him. Without a moment's hesitation, he summoned his electro-elementalis and directed bolts of lightning and gusts of powerful wind towards the distant carriage.

The unleashed forces struck two of the carriage's wheels, causing it to lose control and overturn with a thunderous crash.

The dust cloud was not even given the time to settle when Alexei hurried towards the scene, a flicker of hope in his heart that he hadn't inadvertently caused the man's demise.

There was this primal, bestial urge in his heart, he wanted to kill the man himself.

He had barely taken five steps when the clamor of approaching hoofsteps and thunderous neighs reached his ears. Startled, he swiftly turned around and found himself facing another carriage barreling towards him. Utilizing his elementalis, Alexei swiftly sidestepped, narrowly avoiding being trampled by mere meters.

After almost trampling over Alexei, the carriage came to a halt beside the overturned carriage, and four men emerged from its back, accompanied by the individual who had been seated alongside the driver. "What was that?" the man inquired, his tone filled with confusion.

All the people, except the carriage driver were without exception mages.

As the chaos settled, a voice echoed through the wreckage, unmistakably belonging to Karl. "It's him, it's Ethereal Breeze!" he exclaimed, his words carrying a mix of surprise, recognition and dread.

Alexei's gaze locked onto Karl, his fury simmering within him.

But amidst the tumult, Alexei witnessed another figure crawling out from the wreckage—a figure that filled him with an even deeper hatred.

"Del'hia," Alexei muttered through gritted teeth, his fists clenching until his knuckles turned white.

In the aftermath of the incident, Alexei being left in the state he was in he did not bother to inspect the bodies strewn amidst the wreckage she had left behind. He had assumed that all the ‘travelers” who had betrayed and sold them out had met their demise there, paying the ultimate price for their treachery. However, it turned out that his assumption had been terribly wrong: Two of them were just in front of him.

As Del'hia noticed Alexei approaching with determination in his eyes, fear crept into her voice as she commanded the five mages, "What are you waiting for? Stop him!" Her desperate attempt to turn the tables only fueled Alexei's resolve to set things right, right then and there.

With lightning crackling at his fingertips and a gale of wind swirling around him, Alexei prepared himself and unleashed his electro-elementalis at Del’hia.

Thunderstrike Lvl.2

12.5

As Alexei's Thunderstrike hurtled towards Del'hia, the unexpected intervention of the man standing at the helm of the second carriage disrupted the course of events. Acting swiftly, he positioned himself between Alexei and Del'hia, summoning a colossal wall of protection that shielded them both from the impending attack.

"What are you doing?" he bellowed at the four men who accompanied him. "Do something!"

The four men hesitated for a moment, their expressions filled with uncertainty. They exchanged glances, torn between their loyalty to Del'hia and the potential danger posed by Alexei's unleashed power.

Finally, one of the men stepped forward, his voice quivering with determination. "I'll take care of him," he declared, a hint of resolve cutting through his wavering resolve. The remaining three men, emboldened by his conviction, joined ranks beside him, ready to confront Alexei head-on.

Alexei, his fury undeterred by the obstacle before him, glared at the newly formed opposition.

The one of the four leading the charge opened up with a geo-elementalis closely followed by three others who also followed with their respective elementalis.

Salvo of elemental attacks were unleashed at Alexei.

Gust Barrier Lvl.2

38.15

None of the mages’ attacks made it past Alexei’s [Gust Barrier].

The geo-mage, still leading the charge, called upon the earth itself, causing the ground beneath Alexei to rumble and crack. Large boulders and rocky projectiles surged towards him from the ground up, aiming to impale him. However, Alexei, tapping into his aero-elementalis, summoned powerful gusts of wind that helped him maneuver his way out of the incoming projectiles. Though he bore bruises and felt exhaustion throughout his body, his current condition was far more optimal than the previous day. In addition, fueled by his burning desire to inflict upon Del'hia what he felt she rightfully deserved, a surge of strength coursed through him. Alexei believed he was in good enough shape to dispose of these mages, whom he considered unworthy of their title.

The aero-mage, recognizing the resilience of Alexei's defenses, altered their strategy. Whirling cyclones and fierce gusts were summoned, attempting to disorient and disrupt Alexei's balance. But with his own expertise in controlling the winds, Alexei maneuvered with agility, evading the tempestuous assaults and maintaining his footing.

The final mage, a talented electro-elementalist, channeled crackling bolts of electricity towards Alexei. Jagged arcs of lightning danced through the air, seeking to strike him with their shocking power. Yet, Alexei, attuned to the electrical currents coursing within him, deftly navigated the onslaught, skillfully grounding and dispersing the electrical discharges

Recognizing the futility of their individual efforts, the mages began to coordinate their attacks. Combining their elemental forces, they aimed to overwhelm Alexei with a concentrated barrage of earth, wind, and electricity. The ground quaked beneath him, their joint attacks were unleashed.

Instead of engaging in evasive or defensive maneuver at the elemental cluster unleashed at him, Alexei held his ground and summoned one of his oldest mantras.

Unnamed mantra [ Lvl.3 ]

Alexei summoned a vortex—one that spun faster and faster, quickly devouring all the ice shards, lightning bolts, and ice stalactites into its swirling center. The man's eyes widened in surprise as he watched his attack disappear into the vortex.

But it wasn’t it all, still feeding wind to the vortex, aimed at the group of mages, before unleashed the said vortex at them.

With a final surge of energy, Alexei unleashed the full force of the vortex upon the mages. The powerful winds battered and buffeted them, hurling them against the debris and wreckage strewn about. Their cries were drowned out by the howling tempest, their bodies tossed and thrown with relentless force.

One by one, they succumbed to the overwhelming power of the vortex, their elemental abilities no match for the aero-mage's wrath. Their forms were engulfed by the swirling winds, swallowed into the heart of the storm along with the carriage they ca me in before being hurled into the distance.

Out of the five mages of the second carriage, four were taken care of, only one remained: The geo-mage who wedged himself between Del’hia and Alexei.

The sight of his friends being hurled into the distance, tossed like leaves in a powerful gust, left the man visibly shocked. But his shock paled in comparison to the terror that gripped him when he saw Alexei steadily approaching. In a desperate attempt to escape, he stumbled backward, his legs giving way, and he fell onto the ground.

With a swift motion, Alexei extended his hand towards the fallen man, summoning the power of his aero-elementalis. The air around the man shimmered and shifted, forming a mystical grip that enveloped him. The Aerial Clutch lifted the man high into the air, suspending him dozens of feet above the ground, his body rendered weightless in the ethereal grip.

"Plea—" the man managed to utter, his voice trembling with fear and desperation. But before he could finish his sentence, Alexei unleashed his electro-elementalis with a vengeful fury. A surge of crackling lightning arced from Alexei's fingertips, striking the helpless man suspended in mid-air.

The electrical discharge coursed through the man's body, his agonized cries drowned out by the explosive crackling of the lightning. The powerful jolt sent him hurtling even higher into the distance, his life extinguished in an instant. Had the lethal force of Alexei's elementalis not claimed his life, the impact of the fall surely did.

With the obstacles between him and his true targets now vanquished, Alexei's attention swiftly returned to Del'hia and Karl. His eyes narrowed as he witnessed them hastily preparing to mount a horse, intending to make their escape.

Not willing to let them slip away, Alexei raised his hand, preparing to unleash a powerful surge of electro-elementalis towards Del'hia and Karl. However, in that crucial moment, a sharp and excruciating headache suddenly gripped his mind, causing him to falter.

“Tsk, now out of nowhere.”

His hand wavered in the air as pain radiated through his skull. The intense sensation overwhelmed him, momentarily clouding his focus and disrupting his connection to his elemental powers. Alexei clenched his teeth, trying to push through the agony and regain control.

But the headache persisted, growing in intensity with each passing moment. Waves of discomfort pulsed through his temples, threatening to consume his concentration. The electro-elementalis crackled and flickered uncertainty, unable to manifest into the intended attack.

Alexei's vision blurred, and he staggered backward, his hand dropping to his side. The pain was relentless, a piercing reminder of his own vulnerability. Confusion mingled with frustration as he knew what was about to happen next.

Del'hia and Karl, seizing the opportunity, seized their chance for escape. With urgency in their movements, they mounted the horse and swiftly galloped away, disappearing into the distance.

Furious at the sight of Del'hia and Karl slipping away, Alexei, frustrated by his inability to aim directly at them, unleashed his electro-elementalis in their general direction. Bolts of crackling electricity surged forward, crackling and sizzling through the air with unrestrained fury.

The unleashed energy shot out in an uncontrolled manner, arcing and zigzagging through the surroundings. Bright flashes illuminated the dimming daylight as the electrical discharges streaked across the landscape, searching for their targets.

Though the aim was uncertain, the unleashed electro-elementalis streaked through the space where Del'hia and Karl had been mere moments ago. However, luck was not on his side this time. The bolts of electricity streaked harmlessly through the empty air, missing their intended targets.

“SHIIIIT!” Alexei raged at the mess up.

After several screams and a rage-fueled explosion of energy, Alexei's adrenaline began to subside, allowing his headache to gradually calm down. As the surge of emotions receded, he finally regained his composure and looked around, taking in the aftermath of his unleashed power.

The scene before him was one of devastation. Buildings stood charred and crumbling, their structures weakened by the unleashed elemental forces. Debris littered the streets, and the air was thick with dust and the acrid smell of burnt materials. The once lively city now echoed with the cries and screams of frightened residents, their voices carrying a mix of fear, confusion, and anguish.

A pang of guilt washed over Alexei as he realized the extent of the chaos he had caused, but it was swiftly pushed aside by a wave of frustration and a lingering sense of futility. He couldn't shake off the nagging thought that all of this destruction and chaos had been in vain. That, at least, was true until he heard a muffled sound coming from the wreckage of the first carriage. Curiosity overcame him as he approached the source of the sound.

As Alexei neared the overturned carriage, he saw the injured driver trapped all the way to waist beneath the weight of his own vehicle.

“Help me…” The man's voice came out weakly as he pleaded for help. Alexei's initial response was one of indifference.

"No," Alexei responded coldly, his voice tinged with a hint of bitterness, lacking any immediate remorse for the man's predicament. However, a twinge of guilt still tugged at his conscience.. "Not until you answer some of my questions."
