Along with snarls, a continuous series of soft explosions reverberated in the sky around Dream. Booms and shockwaves rippled through the air as white-winged reptilians, easily one and a half times the height of a human, soared throughout the area.
“Tsk, annoying.”
After obtaining his fourth Battle Maiden, Dream, feeling content with his acquisitions, decided to continue his journey. Venturing further south alongside his winged companions, he, who, in the past, had spent quite a while on his toes keeping a close eye on the sky, hoped that now, with his own wings fully operational, he would be able to reign as the king of the sky, just as the skyshriekers had back in the gray wasteland. Yet, here he was. As he traversed the verdant valley, he encountered a creature determined to challenge his claim to the title of ruler of the heavens: Sylphdrakes.
Dream, faced with the menacing Sylphdrakes, knew he had to act quickly. With a flick of his wrist, he invoked his signature mantra,

, unleashing hundreds of branching bolts into the sky. The vibrant tendrils of electricity lit up the surroundings as they snaked through the air toward their winged adversaries.
However, the Sylphdrakes were no ordinary foes. With a deafening sonic boom, they propelled themselves forward, weaving through Dream's lightning barrage with uncanny agility. Like white phantoms, they danced and dodged the deadly arcs of electricity, making their way closer to their target: him.
Frustrated by the Sylphdrakes' evasion, Dream clicked his tongue in annoyance. He quickly signaled for Nox to back off, not wanting to get involved in an aerial squirmish against those creatures.
Turning his attention to the two Battle Maidens, flying at his side, "Luna, Selene, stop them!" Dream commanded mentally.
The two Battle Maidens, an odo spear in hand, responded immediately, their golden wings shimmering as they launched themselves toward the Sylphdrakes.

As Luna and Selene engaged the first pair of Sylphdrakes with their gleaming spears, successfully intercepting them in mid-air, two more of the agile creatures swooped down from different directions, intent on getting to Dream himself.
With a quick mental command, Dream summoned Atlas into the fray. Atlas, equipped with both a sturdy shield and a spear, immediately moved to intercept the Sylphdrake approaching from the lower left. With a practiced motion, she raised her shield to protect herself from the incoming sonic attack while positioning his spear for a counterstrike.

Dream himself focused on the sylphdrake approaching from his upper left. With the creature going in for what could only be described as a dive, Dream took the opportunity to fire the mantra he deemed the most appropriate for the circumstance.

Struck not once but twice by Dream's thunderstrike, the creature convulsed in the air, its wings flapping erratically as it struggled to maintain its balance.
The electrical energy coursed through its body, causing it to emit a series of high-pitched screeches that echoed through the valley. With each passing moment, its movements grew more uncoordinated, and it was clear that it was losing control.
The Sylphdrake plummeted from midair, its descent rapid and uncontrolled. It crashed into the ground with a thunderous impact, sending up a plume of dirt and debris.
Hardly giving the creature any of his attention, Dream shifted his focus to the other Sylphdrakes, with whom the Battle Maiden were locked in an aerial squirmish.
While by becoming his battle maiden they'd acquired a certain level of immunity to his lightning, Dream nonetheless mentally commanded Altlas, whom he decided to be the first to whom he would give assistance to defeat the Sylphdrake, to back off.
As the Battle Maiden gracefully backed away from the Sylphdrake, the creature exhibited a relentless determination to pursue its target. Its wings beat with impressive speed, allowing it to maintain its position in the air as it closed the gap between them. However, before it could execute its intended attack, Dream took swift action.
With a focused thought and a surge of power, Dream unleashed his electro-elementalis.

Lightning erupted from his fingertips, arcing through the air with blinding speed. The electrifying bolts struck the Sylphdrake directly, causing it to convulse in midair. The Sylphdrake's movements became erratic, and it let out a series of agonized screeches.

It was clear that the lightning attack had inflicted significant damage. With one final, desperate flap of its wings, the creature lost control and tumbled from the sky.
Dream didn’t bother going after it; instead, he simply sent Atlas to finish the job. With the fallen Sylphdrake left to Atlas, Dream turned his attention to the ongoing battle between Selene, Luna, and the remaining two Sylphdrakes.
Dream, perched in the arms of Nox, soared towards the skirmish. As they closed the distance, the creatures wisely decided to create some space between themselves and the Battle Maidens after witnessing the fate of their fallen comrade.
The Sylphdrakes, though formidable aerial foes in their own right, were now clearly wary of Dream's lightning. Their instincts, or perhaps some semblance of reasoning, had prompted them to maintain a safe distance.
The Sylphdrakes, now keeping a cautious distance, shifted their strategy. With synchronized precision, they began circling the area where Dream and the Battle Maidens were stationed. Their circular movements created a sense of impending danger, and Dream watched as the reptilian beasts simultaneously unleashed aerial blades, similar to Dream's aero-elementalis attacks.
"Staying from a distance smart, but this decision of not running away, not smart," Dream muttered to himself.
Without missing a beat, Dream took action. He mentally commanded the Battle Maidens, and with a graceful sweep of their golden wings, they formed a protective barrier around him. The Sylphdrakes' aerial blades collided with the shimmering barrier of golden wings, knocking the Battle Maidens backward, but nothing they couldn’t recover from.
"It is time we put an end to this," Dream declared with unwavering determination. Seizing the window of opportunity created by the Battle Maidens' protective barrier, he swiftly summoned odo spears into his hands.

With practiced precision, he hurled the spears at one of the sylphdrakes. The odo spears streaked through the air, their tips gleaming with deadly intent. The sylphdrake had little time to react as the spears closed in on it.
With a series of resounding impacts, the odo spears struck their target. The sylphdrake let out a piercing cry of agony as the spears pierced its wings and body.

As the wounded Sylphdrake spiraled out of control, Dream wasted no time. He immediately summoned another batch of odo spears, fully intent on unleashing them at the remaining Sylphdrake, determined to put an end to this aerial battle once and for all. The spears materialized around him, gleaming with latent energy, ready to be unleashed.
However, just as Dream was about to release the deadly barrage, the last Sylphdrake made a desperate move. With a thunderous sonic boom, it accelerated away from the battlefield, leaving a trail of energy in its wake. It seemed to understand the direness of its situation and was attempting to flee.
"Oh, no you don't," Dream declared firmly, his eyes locked on the escaping creature. He wasn't about to let it get away after the trouble it had caused.

The gleaming spears streaked through the sky, closing in on their target with relentless determination. As they reached the vicinity of the fleeing Sylphdrake, they exploded in a series of powerful detonations, shrouding the creature in a billowing black layer of smoke.
Within the thick veil of darkness, Dream could discern something amidst the chaos—a dark, ember-like figure plummeting rapidly to the ground.
With a sense of satisfaction, Dream watched as the creature crashed to the earth below, its once formidable presence reduced to nothing more than a smoldering wreck.
"Time to reap the fruits of our labor, girls."
