He lifted the man with a pull using just his right arm, planting him onto his feet.
“I’ll meet you all in due time. Follow the map and continue your patrol. I’ll bring this guy to the detention centre.” He explained.
Blaine deeply breathed as he lifted, seemingly trying to calm himself. Cael could see the rage bubbling up inside him as it seemed to almost exude through his crazed gaze. His eyes remained stuck onto the ground, as he lifted, before the three of them continued this patrol together.
After a long, arduous five hours, their patrol was finally over. They could feel their mind had become dull through taking the same route through the streets of Zarcona over and over again.
For the finishing 3 hours, the group were introduced to the system of paperwork and looking over these documents. For them, they didn’t have the authority to sign off anything of importance, but mainly just read through these articles to get the drafts finalised and sent out for use.
Cael daunted this part of their job even more and it was for good reason. With his chin steadily resting in his elbow, he used his free right hand to utilise the hovering keyboard and to navigate through these articles.
He struggled to push himself through the hours, and felt liberated once he noticed the time ahead of him become 20:00.
The students were soon sent to return to their dorms, and many were fast asleep soon after.

In these coming days, Cael continued his training and patrols, receiving a steady income of about $20 dollars an hour, which he wasn’t upset with. It was certainly enough to fund his expenses in Zarcona, but he patiently waited up until Saturday.
This time, informing the rather intrusive Vanessa of his whereabouts the next Saturday, he was off. This time, he rode off as the sun was already approaching the horizon. With the time already reaching sunset, he wouldn’t have much time before his curfew.
Arriving at the nearest train station, he took the expansive global metro network to arrive at Canedo Avenue once again.
He stood ahead of the abandoned property, scanning the area to look for any cameras or other forms of security. The street was a pitch black, only illuminated by outdated, flickering streetlamps.
This was his perfect chance to enter the property to see what he could find. He gave a few more cautionary glances at the surroundings and then his eyes were glued to the dark oak villa before him.
There were supposed to be colonial officers roaming these dark streets, but he could tell that many of them didn’t take their job very seriously. This street had been empty for minutes on end, so this had to be his best chance.
It was go-time.
The villa was surrounded by a brick wall of about 10 feet. This would prove troublesome to covertly climb for the likes of ordinary humans.
However, Cael’s body was no longer ordinary. With a muscular frame and tall stature, empowered by an above-average volume of mana, he no longer fell into that category.

With a single, quiet leap he bounded over this brick fence, leaping over the sharp barbed wire placed over the top of it.
There was a small complex surrounding this large villa, and he felt more than curious to see what was lurking inside.
There were two large dark oak doors at the entrance, that seemed locked. With none of the other windows opened, he wouldn’t be able to break them without causing a serious fuss.
Cael just stood there, troubled about his next cause of action. As he remained stood there, he felt as if eyes were staring at his nape from behind. Unable to see his back, anything here could happen.
What if they were already watching him? There could be hidden cameras anywhere recording his every move! Why did he even choose to do this; it was so rash!
Cael remained stood there, frozen and deep in his thoughts until he reached forward and pushed open the door. With a light push, the door creaked and opened wide, revealing the luxurious property.
“Moron.” He called himself, before entering.
Looking around, he decided that he wasn’t going to see much at the base of this dream. He remembered the scientist residing on the fourth story, but still decided to look around to try and see anything that he could find.
The interior was incredibly decrepit and if it wasn’t for his sharp vision, he’d be lost in this dark environment. The corners of each room were covered by dense cobwebs, and he’d be hit with a wave of suffocating dust when opening doors and touching items.
Arriving at the large kitchen at the base of this building, he found the cabinets to be rusted and empty. Opening one, he fell back in fright upon watching a mosquito buzz out of it energetically.
He felt like there wouldn’t be much to find at the ground floor, and started ascending to the first floor. Each step on these wooden stairs made them creak, and he could even feel one dipping under just his own bodyweight.
Cael could tell that this place hadn’t even been touched for decades on end.
He found absolutely nothing on these different floors until he arrived at the top floor, where the scientist resided.
Instead of it feeling like he was exploring a totally new place, he suddenly felt thrown into a familiar environment.
As soon as he perceived his surroundings, he could better judge where he was from his memories of this place.
He approached the door that he remembered the officers storming through. It was slightly open, and he pushed it open to take in the view.
Now, there was no mattress on the integrated bedframe, and none of the accessories that he remembered being in the area remained.
It was surprising to see the same room look so different as every item that gave it character was gone. Now, it didn’t even look like a room he’d seen before.
Cael just rested his back on the nearest wall, defeated. After searching the entire building, he’d found nothing. Nothing at all.
His searching was scrupulous and meticulous, but he still couldn’t find a single thing.
What was he going to do now going forward? I mean, he still had this area to search more intensively, but then he had the entire planet and then even more entire planets to search on after that.
sigh
Cael lifted off the wall, readying himself to leave the room after giving the area a light check. However, upon lifting to exit the room, he noticed a device snugly fitted under the bedframe.
“Was that there the entire time?” He wondered, looking at the black object that he could just about see through the frame’s bars.
Crouching down to the area to give a more intent look at the scene, he could see that there was a device situated under the frame.
It resembled a large projector, and this was exactly what he was looking for. He felt downhearted from finding nothing but empty rooms, but this could be the worth in his trip.
Cael was able to easily break past the wooden frames in between him and the device, grabbing hold of it. It weighed about half a kilogram -which was pretty much nothing to the likes of Cael- and had a sleek, clean design just like a projector.
Upon holding it for some time, inspecting it, he could feel his mobile projector vibrating it. Revealing the device, there were some more files that had been forcefully sent to his projector.
As he looked at the glowing panels from his projector, the black device broke into nothing but shards and fragments. Breaking apart like fragile glass, it sounded like such as it crashed into the ground.
The once sturdy projector had now fragmented into black crystals, just like the helmet that granted him his system.
