To expand into the real market, he needed sufficient room and storage to work with.
Here, he wanted to disassemble the workshop in his living room and sell the components that he could to then put that money toward the purchase of the new industrial unit he wanted.
This process was rather swift. It took only a day for the needed construction bots to disassemble the workings in his living room and to transport the several machines within outside.
The items were still under his ownership and so, he sold them to receive some money that he kept to himself for now.
After looking at the industrial unit’s exterior and interior scrupulously using his projector’s high quality projections, he was sure that he was making the right choice here. However, it never hurt to see the place in real life to just get a feel of the place.
This is what Cael did, and he arrived at one of the industrial units that was used for viewers like him. Entering in, the working space was narrow but stretched further back than Cael expected.
Along with that, there was an upper room which currently located a control room consisting of bookshelves, a central desk, and a computer. Adjacent to that was practically a working bedroom.
These two rooms possessed windows that allowed people from inside to peer down to the whole small industrial unit, which made Cael smile with satisfaction.
“It’s exactly what I want. This place looks great.” Cael said, continuing his inspection as he talked.
“I know. They’ve just started making these units, so they use cutting edge technology like the projector there, and other things as well.” The viewer furthered.
After giving this place a view, Cael felt it was safe to decide. Buying the workplace for $22,000, he had to swiftly move on to decking it with what he needed.
Buying a specialised teleporter for the use of the TechForge simulation lab, that was located within the centre of the unit so that the projections could be easily pulled out in all directions.
Along with that, near the back of the room, he decided to place his furnace. What Cael needed now was a larger, even more advanced 3d printer. If he wanted to use his other 3d printer to print large attack bots, he’d need to heavily compartmentalise designs to get the job done.
Additionally, working with more intricate and detailed components meant that there was a higher possibility for error with 3d printers.
Fleshing out the place with exactly what he needed, Cael lost $40,000 in the process. However, he stood at the large entrance to the facility, and brightly smiled at what he was seeing. The hard, grey concrete walls and pure, white lights that beamed down in the area gave it the appearance of a true factory. This is a place that he knew he wanted to work hard in.
With his facility ready to go, Cael began working toward fleshing out Leon’s model physically. That required him to buy the necessary components and metals, costing him about $140,000. Cael was lucky that this design didn’t rely on extremely high prices, and actuator equipment was cheaper for him regardless.
This meant that he could save quite a bit of money on that.
Cael equipped himself with a tight apron and a mask before beginning his work. His first job was to mix the right metals within the furnace. Using the ingots that he gained, completing this task was still a tough job.
He had to make sure that the ratios were bang on correct and wait for them to be of the perfect consistency and temperature before mixing.

Even though it seemed quite basic from a superficial level, Cael was using an absurdly high amount of focus to keep himself from failing here.
Cael used his moulds to form the needed ingots that he could pop right into his 3d printer. They cooled quite quickly upon being exposed to the cold, dry air.
He utilised the software of the TechForge Simulation Lab to feed the design’s components straight into his 3d printer. The transferring of this data was a very seamless process, and Cael could tell that this process was refined to facilitate 3d printer usage like this.
The hologram of its design started being projected by the 3d printer’s own specialised projector, while it also highlighted areas that it was working to fabricate from that moment.
This assembly process of his was a little more seamless, as the armour plates were formed by his 3d printer instead of him. However, the assembly process required him to move around heavy objects and forced him to use his superhuman strength to power through.
As for those without mana, they were forced to resort to other techniques to assemble such large objects. Cael was just blessed with his immense strength to continue constructing this attack bot by himself.
After a handful of days, his very first model of Leon’s attack bot was formed. Luckily, Leon had formed all the code that was needed to operate the thing. Cael felt annoyed that he had to skip this part of the design because he hadn’t coded such complex things in quite a long time.
However, he was grateful that it was someone as smart as Leon that he had to rely on. His code was far more elegant and quality than anything that he could say he was capable of.
The number of lines of code used to operate this being made Cael realise that he had to step up his game.
This first model was left on his account and, unluckily, didn’t sell immediately. That was fine for him and Cael was okay with waiting for the item to sell. It was currently listed for $189,000, and Leon wasn’t asking for any profit.
Getting $49,000 to work with right away, he could throw that right into his next model and get to forming that.
Before then, Cael had main tasks. Firstly, he had to try his best to locate the other files of this creator. Without any other reference to guide himself, he was quite lost. That was going to be his least priority task; he simply didn’t really know how to complete it.
Along with that, there was the ultimate bot showdown that was to come in the next few months. During the time that he had, he wanted to increase his skills as much as he could to get his name out there.
With a good performance in that event, that would kickstart his whole journey toward success.
Finally, there was the upcoming event that was closer – his journey to the colony of Lapra. Cael had always heard about the Soburg Empire’s colonies and his family was adamant on never taking him to those places.
Being much older, Cael was smart enough to read between the lines and realised that the people there simply weren’t treated the best by the officers that operated on those planets.
The indigenous people located there (as indigenous as you could get for humans that originated from a single planet) were subject to their rule, with their hard work and resources being taken to fuel the main empire instead of their own land and people.
After a few days time, Cael’s attack bot sold, and he was already onto making the next one in the background. Leon was also hard at work with producing his swarm units, and the profits were soon becoming stable and large.
There was always above ten thousand dollars being raked in for the business in a week, which was a dream come true for him. It was hard to believe that Cael had gone from not having a job to reaching the top percentiles in just this short period of time.
After these few days, Cael was currently pouring out molten metal into one of his fortified moulds when he received a message from an unknown person. Placing the crucible back into where it was located, he lifted his metal mask to give the hologram a more attentive inspection. He was a little spooked by this and thought that it was just some scam message that all of society was used to receiving.
However, upon amusing himself by reading this message, he soon found out that it was indeed a real person talking to him in specific.
“You need to be in the vault the evening after tomorrow. We’re not going to Lapra without training up. Be there after school and don’t be late. Vanessa.”
“Oh, right, that thing.” Cael remembered, taking off the thick gloves that he was wearing.
A virtual keyboard appeared ahead of him, and he sent back a message of confirmation before continuing his business.
Just after that night, the second of Leon’s attack bot models was already being listed on the market, and he decided to call it a day once he was done there.
It was already quite late as he saw the glistening white light of the stars piercing through the clear windows of his industrial unit.
He gave a glance out to the scarily quiet streets outside and felt a cool breeze emanating from that area. Turning his head, he could see the warmer room above him, illuminated by a soothing, golden light.
Cael called it a night and slept in his unit, making sure to wake up earlier so that he could figure out his way to school.
