Chapter 43: Classmate
The next day, when Fang came into the classroom, someone else was also there.
But yesterday, other than himself, there wasn’t anyone taking the Meteor class.
Seeing the person, Fang blurted out, “Blue?”
With her legs curled, a look of ease appeared on Blue’s face. “Why, are you surprised to see me?”
When she followed Fang out of curiosity, she saw Fang enter the class. Thinking it wasn’t anything big, she returned to the classes, but after going to class all the time with Fang, it seemed like time dragged on and on alone without him. Bored to death, Blue couldn’t help wander her thoughts over to what Fang was doing, and why it was important to Fang. So today, she ran over.
“Blue, you know that I came here to learn a technique for the upcoming competition, but why did you come here?”
“What, is my level too low for this class?” Blue tried to brush it off, but Fang pressed for a reason.
“Did you come to fool around?”
She frowned. “Who came to fool around, I’m just taking this class like any student. Am I not good enough? After you became the representative for our class, are all students below you now?”
Knowing Blue’s quick temper, Fang apologized hastily. “Blue, I certainly don’t mean that, but this skill is really very difficult to learn, and you might be wasting your time here. I don’t want you to waste your time here, so I didn’t tell you about attending this class, even though you like to attend class together with me.”
“Who liked attending class with you?” Blue coughed. “I’m just taking this class to learn something new, it has nothing to do with you!”
“Okay, okay, it’s all good.” Fang helplessly said. Although his roommate was temperamental, they were extremely stubborn when they decided on something. He took a seat next to Blue, and hoped somehow after this class, he could persuade him again to relent and give up on this class.

The bell resounded through the building, and Weiss appeared right on time. Weiss hoped that Fang wouldn’t come today, as he had explained the fundamental theory behind the attack in addition to the release method. Instead, he discovered Fang wasn’t the only one there too – in the classroom, there was another person. Moreover, Weiss noted this student was also from class eight, and he gave in to a sudden splitting headache.
Did students these days aim so high, why did they need to learn this technique of all things?
Damn, my idle life’s now done for!
Masking his unwell mood, Weiss put on a serious face and asked, “The new student, please introduce yourself.”
“1st year from class eight, Blue!”
“Student Blue, which technique did you come here to learn?”
Blue pointed at Fang. “Teacher, I’ll learn whatever this guy’s learning.”
“What?” Weiss frowned. “Your classmate Fang chose the 5th grade Meteor to study, do you really want to study the same thing with him?”
5th grade?
Blue was shocked, although she followed after Fang to the class secretly yesterday, she didn’t listen to what the teacher inside was saying. This was due to that teacher having a large amount of awareness spread out near their classrooms to ensure privacy.
To her, even the 5th grade Meteor wasn’t too difficult to learn, but for what she knew, Fang was overreaching; it was quite impossible for that guy to learn it in that short time period.
However, her words couldn’t be taken back, so she could only continue ahead. “Yes!”
Weiss sighed. He didn’t want to teach, but the possibility of them learning the 1st grade or the 5th grade was the same deal – zero. At least it’ll save the trouble of preparing another set of exercises and explanations, he thought as he started to face the board in the front of the class.
Though Fang wanted to talk to Blue at the end of class, Weiss interrupted him and walked forwards after concluding the class. “Blue, I’d like to chat with you. Fang, evidently you two are friends, but leave the classroom first and wait outside a bit.”
Listening to Teacher Weiss’s tone, it seemed that he also wanted to make Blue give up on this class. Fang nodded and left the classroom obediently.
Fang’s guess was spot on, Weiss wanted to lower the number of students in his class. He didn’t dislike teaching greatly, it was partly the opposite. Too many students in the past had embarked in attempting this way of skills, yet failed and harmed themselves. The responsibility was haunting, and so, Weiss tried his best to persuade anyone now to quit from this path.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
However, Fang was a recent exception. Yesterday, during the extended class where Weiss tested and lectured Fang the basics, he was pleasantly surprised. Fang’s questions were inquisitive and his control over his energy was nothing like Weiss had seen before – it wasn’t utterly hopeless for Fang to grasp the technique, he evaluated. But another student like Fang? Even if they were from the same class, they would surely not match up.
“I know that everyone wants to learn Meteor, but please think it over, this skill takes a lot of time and effort. In addition, it may be dangerous, and result in nothing productive; I have seen with my own eyes many students who blindly pursued it, including very talented students coming in with confidence…” Weiss’s voice trailed off.
Before he had got to finish his tirade discouraging this student, Blue had released her energy.
Seven colors spread out in a dazzling array outside Blue’s body, some blue like the water, translucent wind, warm bright light…
Advanced level, moreover, the energy properties exhibited seven different kinds!
Weiss stared at Blue. “Rainbow properties!”
She smiled lightly. “Teacher Weiss, do you still think I don’t have the qualifications to study Meteor?”
Sweat dripped down his forehead, a 1st year student has reached the advanced stage, moreover, had displayed seven different elemental properties. If they didn’t have the qualifications to learn Meteor, then no one did.
As well, that family was famously known for a single person with such a type of energy.
That girl had attended the most prestigious schools in the country, receiving the attention of innumerable well known institutes, but she had disappeared. The people from the city didn’t think it was strange, as it was commonly spread that Scarlett was a whimsical beauty.
It was undeniable though, even if her personality was unpredictable, she was a rare talent in the history of that respected family, so she was sure to reach unknown heights without attending any further education.
Weiss had actually never anticipated that she would quietly attend Garden College, and mix in with the lowest class like this.
“Certainly, you’re qualified,” he said, “but…”
“Teacher Weiss.” Blue interjected when he was about to speak. “I naturally have a goal in mind, please keep this a secret for me.”
“Yes!” Weiss politely bowed, but couldn’t dispel the doubt in his mind.
Why would she come to this place, of all places, and like that? And what significance did learning Meteor have to her?
He shook his head. The musings of the capricious beauty of Minuet City were unfathomable!
--- --- ---
Seeing his roommate come out of the classroom, Fang immediately asked, “Blue, the teacher should’ve told you the same thing I believe, it isn’t the right time for you to practice or learn Meteor, maybe later.”
Blue rolled her eyes. “No, the teacher agreed that it would be beneficial for me to stay in this class.”
“What?” Fang was stunned, as far as he knew, Weiss wasn’t the type of teacher to easily receive students. To recommend that this class was suitable to a student? Even he had trouble getting the attention of this teacher, only reluctantly relenting after Weiss saw his own performance.
But now, he easily agreed with Blue taking this class?
Puzzled, Fang muttered. “How’s that possible?”
“Nothing is impossible!” Blue raised her face arrogantly. “I already said that I was really strong, and Teacher Weiss thought my talent was extremely high, so he said Meteor was completely appropriate for me. The reason’s simple, it’s just that you’ve been in disbelief all this time!’
“Okay.”
Perhaps, the teacher thought his roommate’s stubborn personality was too firmly set in place, and difficult to convince, gave up on discouraging him.
Well, Blue might attend some classes with me for a while, but once he realizes how hard it is to learn Meteor, maybe he’ll leave on his own after a couple of days!
