Chapter 33: Three Conditions

Following the admission to Garden College, Fang set out the next day to the address that Blue gave him, finding his relatives in Minuet City.

It had only been a few days, so his roommate shouldn’t have left yet.

After he had knocked on the door, a plump, middle-aged woman came to the entrance. “Who are you?”

“Excuse me, is Blue at home?”

“Blue?” The woman looked puzzled for a couple of seconds, but then immediately responded, “Oh, Blue, he’s not in. You must be his roommate from the training camp, Fang, right?”

Fang nodded. “Yes, I’m Fang. Could you please tell him I was admitted to Garden College?”

She replied, “Well, when he comes back, I’ll tell him.”

As he bid farewell and walked back onto the streets, he thought it was a bit strange. When he mentioned Blue’s name, it was like his relative didn’t know who Blue was. Since Blue lived in her house, shouldn’t his relative be familiar with his name?

He shook his head. Filled with elation, he quickly ran back towards Valeria’s house.

--- --- ---

If Fang had stayed behind, he would’ve seen the same lady hurriedly exit through the back door of the modest house and navigate her way through the city’s winding paths. A towering building, more magnificent than Valeria’s tower, stood in front of Blue’s ‘relative’.

In Minuet City, to occupy a part of the land located within the city meant that the owner had to be tremendously influential and powerful. The small figure informed her intentions to the guards outside, and once inside the small castle, quietly whispered to a pretty maid. The maid opened the door, and she entered the spacious living room.

Inside, a girl sat in a chair. With full, luscious, lips and a confident face that looked sculpted, she put paintings to shame. Even the most demanding artist would have trouble drawing a more beautiful face – in addition, her stunning looks and impressive body left everything to desire. Cursed and blessed, all women would envy her; men would want her, but no one could have this secluded princess in the castle.

Her red lips opened, and white teeth lit up a smile bright as the moon. “Any news?”

“Yes, Miss Scarlett.”

Before the young girl before her, she trembled slightly and respectfully continued. “He came to me today, and said he was going to enter Garden College.”

“Garden College?” The girl showed some surprise. “I didn’t think that Garden College would grant him special admission… this is quite interesting.”

Turning her attention towards the kneeling servant, she rose from her chair. “Thank you for your hard work.”

Rapidly, the woman replied, “Any work for you, Miss Scarlett, is my pleasure. If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.”

--- --- ---

That night, in the study of the small castle, a burly middle-aged man was absorbed in reading a paper. Kingsley was his name, director of the training camp and the owner of this small castle.

The study door suddenly swung open.

When Kingsley was in his study, no one dared to disturb him – except her.

He seemed to know who it already was without looking up. “Can I help you?”

In the study, a beauty had entered. However, contrary to her looks, she sat down on the opposite chair facing him across the desk. Her actions were totally without etiquette, and she put her arms on the table. “I’ve decided.”

Setting aside his work, Kingsley focused his attention on her. “Okay, my daughter, tell me your decision!”

“Well, old man, you’ve wanted me to continue studying, but I have three conditions!”

To impose conditions against Kingsley wasn’t something anyone could do, but she was an exception. From the very start, she was rebellious by nature and with her talent, became arrogant in her strength. His relationship with his daughter wasn’t so great, so to hear that she would willingly study was extremely pleasant news. “Go ahead, as long as those conditions aren’t outrageous, I’ll accept them.”

“These three conditions are surely not much and very simple.” She took a breath. “First, I’m going to Garden College!”

“Okay!” Kingsley agreed.

Somewhere as famous as Garden College would be a dream for most people, yet for Kingsley, it was simple to easily admit her. In addition to his fame, his daughter, even midst this famous family known for its strength passed through blood, she was exceptional. Her energy contained seven properties and her constitution was excellent; not just that, her perception was terribly high that she didn’t find it difficult to learn any martial technique she had wanted to decipher.

No matter where she wanted to go, any college would warmly welcome her to join. Actually, Scarlett didn’t participate in the entrance examination, but like an avalanche, countless colleges sent in offers of admission. She threw them all into the garbage.

His daughter paused. “Second, I’ll continue to use the identity from the training camp in Garden College.”

“That isn’t a problem.” Kingsley stared at his daughter. “However, do you intend to be it forever?”

She pouted. “So what, as long as you don’t tell anyone in Garden College my identity, no one will find out!”

“Well, okay.” He knew his wayward daughter was… different, perhaps she liked acting. “And the third condition is?”

The girl’s face became serious. “This is the most important condition, if you don’t agree to it, I’ll drop out even if I do go to Garden College!”

Seeing her so serious, Kingsley frowned. “What is it?”

“Old man, you must put my roommate from the training camp as my roommate in Garden College.”

“Oh, that young man named Fang?” Kingsley had deliberately arranged her to room with anyone that was weak and had a rough experience – it was by luck that it was Fang. He hoped that if his daughter realized how hard it was for normal people to train, she would correct her mentality towards learning and put more effort in, because her current rebellious state was too counterproductive on her own practice.

But contrary to his expectations, after leaving camp, his daughter wanted the same roommate that came from a small unknown city.

She was usually disdainful of others; there was no reason why he would catch her attention. It was strange, with his roommate’s ability, there should have been no way that he got admitted to Garden College. Something special was with that young man for her to take interest.

Growing curious, Kingsley questioned, “My daughter, why did you choose him?”

“Just because I felt like it!” The girl swiftly scowled. “Most importantly, he owes me a big debt that he hasn’t paid off yet!”

Knowing his daughter, Kingsley found that she seemed to be slightly conflicted.

Oh, I didn’t expect that someone was able to unnerve her, and above all, to be someone at her age.

However, if she’s interested and will continue her education this way, he had no complaints. “I’ll fulfill these three conditions, and I promise you that you’ll soon be seeing him again at Garden College.”

“Thanks father!” She got up and walked out of the study, with a gorgeous, vicious smile on her face.

Fang, Fang, Fang. You’ll find out that it’s not so easy to escape me!
