Robert stepped through the portal, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. He spotted Sara waiting for him, a gentle smile on her lips. He embraced her warmly, a quick kiss sealing the moment. "So, how was it?" Sara asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"It was intense," Robert replied, recounting the details of his dungeon run. "I even got two new spellbooks, one for Light magic and one for Destruction." He hesitated, unsure of the next step. "I'm not sure about taking another magic school, though," he admitted.
Sara raised an eyebrow. "How could you not? Most of those spells seem combat-oriented, and you could always use more powerful attacks."
"Hal," Robert asked, thumbing through the spellbook, "Many of these spells seem to require a second sphere to cast. Is that normal?"
It's not that uncommon for some spells to require multiple spheres to learn, these spells are typically more powerful for their tier. Take Ice Shard, for example. It's a Tier 1 spell that combines Destruction and Water magic, dealing 50% more damage than your Water Bullet spell for only a slight increase in mana cost.
Robert's eyes widened in realization. "So it's worth the point to unlock it, then. I definitely need more powerful spells," he said, a determined look crossing his face. After a moment of consideration, he flipped through the spellbook and decided to unlock the Sphere of Destruction. Turning his attention to another matter, he asked, "What about archery? Should I invest in that skill?"
Sara considered his question. "Well, it wouldn't hurt. From what you've described, a bow could have been quite useful in certain situations." Robert nodded, contemplating the potential benefits of adding archery to his skillset.
Turning his attention to the Light spellbook, he was immediately drawn to the powerful spells within. Regeneration and Shield of Light caught his eye, promising significant defensive capabilities. He was also intrigued by Radiant Bolt, a more powerful offensive spell than his current options, but with only a slight increase in mana cost.
However, one spell had him puzzled. "Hal," he asked, pointing at Blessing of Light, "This says it gives a blessing increasing power and speed. Who gives the blessing?"
In this current universe, the System does, however, when you travel to one of the active universes, blessings are granted by the local divinities.
"Local divinities?" Robert repeated, his eyebrows raised.
Correct. In time, when you reach a certain level of power and truly master a skill, you can aspire to divine rank. It's a challenging and risky path, but it's possible. Every universe has a handful of divinities, and in time, this universe will also have its own true gods.
"So, what about God? Is he real?" Robert asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
That's a question even the System can't answer, not even the System knows who or what created the multiverse.
Robert decided to drop the subject. There were more pressing matters at hand, like mastering his new spells.

Robert spent the next two days immersing himself in his studies, mastering new spells, and honing his skills. He also decided to unlock the Archery skill and spent some time practicing with his bow. He also decided to make a few more healing rods.
While crafting healing rods, a thought occurred to him. "Hal," he asked, "The guidebook says one of the ways to earn experience is through crafting. I've been enchanting a lot, but I haven't earned any experience."
You're a Tier 4 Expert in Enchanting, crafting nothing but common Tier 1 items. There's no challenge in that, so you don't earn experience.
"I guess that makes sense," Robert acknowledged. "But I can't make anything else."
Why do you think that? Just because you don't have instructions for other items doesn't mean you can't figure them out. Where do you think all these spells and blueprints come from? Someone figured them out, the System didn't just hand them out.
"So you're saying I could try to figure out other plans through trial and error?" Robert asked, intrigued.
Yes, with your Tier 4 Enchanting knowledge and the skill book you used, you have the foundation to experiment. While you may not have high-tier plans, you have enough knowledge to figure some out.
A new idea sparked in Robert's mind. "I know the Regeneration spell now. I bet I could figure out how to add it to an item."
Armed with this new goal, Robert spent the rest of the day working on his new Rod of Regeneration. It took him two days but he was finally able to create a simple rod of regeneration.
Name: Oak Rod of Regeneration
Tier: 2
Rank: Uncommon
Description: This rod was made by an expert enchanter and when used will expend 1 charge to regenerate 75 points of health over 10 minutes.
Charges: 10
Robert meticulously documented the rod-making process, eager to replicate his success. Over the next few days, he crafted several more, each one a testament to his growing skill. While he still gained no experience from the work, he did get better at engraving the runes.
Time flew by, and soon it was time to return to the Dungeon. As it was a Sunday, he took the opportunity to bid farewell to his family before stepping through the portal.
"Welcome to Dungeon 7883667HG8776DE985762763FF7-1 currently called The Training Dungeon Forth Floor," the dungeon AI announced.
The System Store offered no new enticements, so Robert opted to invest a gold piece in an extra skill point and pressed on.
This floor mirrored the third, with a notable exception: two Goblin Shamans guarded the fifth room, and a Goblin Chief lurked in the final chamber.
Name: Common Goblin Chief
Class: N/A
Race: Goblin, Tier G
Profession: N/A
Gender: Male
Stats: Str 12, Dex 11, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 7, Cha 3
Level: 9

Robert methodically eliminated the archers and fighters, neutralizing the Shaman before confronting the Chief. A formidable opponent, the Chief managed to breach Robert's defenses, inflicting minor damage. Ultimately, however, Robert prevailed.
After plundering the goblin spoils and claiming the chest's contents—a Tier 2 Rara Hardened Leather Jerkin and Pants set, along with 50 silver coins—Robert realized he had leveled up, reaching a new milestone at level 10.
Gathering his thoughts, he stepped through the portal and returned home.
