“Looking sexy in all that leather,” Sara teased as Robert stepped through the portal.
He grinned and pulled her into a quick hug. “Thanks, but I’d rather take it all off.” “Always making promises,” she retorted playfully.
They headed to the bedroom where Robert shed his armor and took a shower. Back in the family room, he shared his second run’s adventure and the enchanted item book.
“Looks like a good starting point,” John said, flipping through the pages. “Those tier 1 items aren’t too powerful, but that minor healing ring could be handy. Not sure how much 10 health points really is, though.”
“Good question,” Robert replied. He activated his Identity skill on everyone. The results appeared, displaying their base stats and health.

"So, 10 health points is a significant chunk of your total health," Robert explained. "It could be a lifesaver, especially considering the cheap copper ring base."
He pulled out his phone and checked prices. "Looks like a copper ring is about twenty bucks, and basic engraving tools are twenty to thirty. I'll order five rings and the tools on Amazon. They should arrive tomorrow."
Richard flipped through the pictures. "These are cool. We should put together an information packet. These pictures would be perfect for it."
Robert considered the idea. "That's a great idea. Even though the System won't arrive for a long time, it would be helpful to have information ready. We can start with this guidebook." He placed the System guidebook on the table.
The family gathered around the book, eager to learn. "This book explains nearly everything in detail," John said, impressed. "It even has history on the System, races, and monsters. We should definitely make copies."
The rest of the day was spent discussing what information to include in the information packet.
Later, at dinner, John brought up their next crafting project. "I still think healing is the way to go. A basic rod of healing, which heals eight points of health per charge and holds fifteen charges, could stabilize an injured person. The only issue is that it doesn't seem rechargeable."

Robert studied the book. "It's not rechargeable, but it's easy to make. We just need an oak rod and some cheap engraving tools. The main limitation is the two hundred mana cost per rod. Considering the rune-carving and mana recovery time, we could probably make two rods a day until I get more levels."
The family spent a little more time talking about what to enchant and then called it a night.
The next day, Robert bid his family goodbye and waited for his Amazon package. When it arrived, he retreated to his office, eager to begin his first enchanting project.
He pulled out the blueprint book, tools, and a copper ring. Following the instructions carefully, he touched the engraving tool to the ring. The Enchanting skill activated, guiding his hands. Within twenty minutes, the ring was complete. Checking his status, he saw he'd spent 100 mana but gained a ring that could heal someone five times.
Or so he thought until he looked at the ring.
Name: Ring of Healing
Tier: 1
Rank: Uncommon
Description: This ring was made by an expert enchanter and when used will expend 1 charge to heal up to 17 health points.
Charges: 10
"Hal, what's going on?" Robert asked his AI.
Simple, as a Tier 4 Level 5 Enchanter, you're crafting a Tier 1 item. Even though you're not very experienced, your skill tier compensates. It makes sense that an expert would produce a better result than a novice.
"So, my Tier 1 items will be better than the book suggests?" Robert asked.
Mostly, Factors like material quality, tool quality, and other variables play a role. But these rings are perfect, capable of nearly fully healing anyone in your family.
Robert glanced at his status screen. He could make a ring roughly every 45 minutes without draining his mana. He spent the rest of the day crafting the remaining four rings, finishing just before his kids returned home.
As soon as they arrived, he distributed the rings. The kids were amazed that the rings automatically adjusted to fit their fingers. Robert explained how to use the rings, emphasizing their limited-use nature.
Turning his attention to the healing rods, Robert ordered twenty-one-inch by twenty-four-inch oak dowels, a can of stain, and an electric engraving pen from Amazon. Letting everyone know he would work on the rods after he received the items the next day.
While reviewing the blueprint book, Robert identified several protective items that would benefit his family. He decided to prioritize an amulet of protection against kinetic attacks and a ring of protection against falls. These two items would provide significant protection against common threats.
He also selected two additional healing rods: one to cure poison and another to cure blindness. Robert believed that these three types of rods would eventually generate enough income to secure his family's future.
The next day, the oak dowels and engraving pen arrived. As soon as the kids were off to school, Robert retreated to his workshop. With the blueprint open on his workbench, he carefully measured and cut the dowels to size. He then spent about an hour meticulously carving the runes into the wood. Each rune glowed faintly as he completed it, draining a small amount of his mana.
Once the runes were complete, Robert stained the rods, giving them a rich, dark hue. Finally, he imbued the rods with magic, activating the healing enchantment. As he finished the last rod, a surge of satisfaction filled him. He had created something truly special.
Looking over the rob he was happy with the results.
Name: Oak Rod of Healing
Tier: 1
Rank: Uncommon
Description: This rod was made by an expert enchanter and when used will expend 1 charge to heal up to 12 health points.
Charges: 20
Again, he realized the significant impact of his high Enchanting skill tier. Considering the time and mana cost, he estimated it would take four days to complete the remaining nineteen rods. But the potential rewards made the effort worthwhile. After waiting nearly an hour for his mana to recharge, he began the next rod, aiming to finish three more that day.
Robert continued this routine for the next four days, balancing his enchanting work with his regular schedule during this time he was able to level up his inventory skill. Finally, it was time for his third run into the training dungeon.
