B01C09 - Fateful Day

B01C09 - Fateful Day

Elaria was quietly doing her work.

As a guild assistant she would work on documents for quests and jobs. She would organize the job posting, be an intermediary of the Guild to the adventurer’s and also to help out Travelers.

These new beings appeared out of nowhere, coming in droves trying their Classes, their quests and anything they could really. Most are crazy about getting strong fast.

-I need some info on Classes.

-Yes!..

Most Travelers come asking for questions on Classes, about the Guilds and the geography of the city.

-I can’t find where the blacksmiths stay!

-If you look over here at the map.

It was surprisingly peaceful.

Of course there were the different ones: The Clan Leaders for example.

Wolfrain for example, was a Clan Leader of one of the bigger Clans in Scarot Kingdom, The Den. His Clan was known for using animal ears on their heads.

I wonder what’s that about.

There were some who were famous for their level.

Fayt, a Nomad who started here in the Grafted city, I’ve never seen someone jump levels like him, I know there’s a EXP buff Skill of the Class, but still.

He was the closest for the Advancement Class Quest.

She wasn't sure about the other Main Guilds, in Rosarian and Glaiveton, but she hoped he was the highest leveled one of the Travelers. Having the highest level Traveler in the three States would give Scarot Kingdom a lot of prestige.

Gods know how bad the Kingdom is going, although…

It brings to her another player, one that is helping the Kingdom in ways he probably doesn’t even know, or care.

He is single handedly rebirthing the tests and studies on monsters nearby and with that increasing the amount of jobs asking for more items.

Just making those merchants and crafters up and again trying new things, and making the economy move. It’s almost a dream come true.

Revil had a very boring job of scavenging creature parts in many different ways and turning them to the researchers. If what most Travelers look like is the usual, he would love to just level up already, but he had to go from creature to creature.

Luckily she knows exactly how to give him a gift. He's very close to a special class that she hopes will be what he wants.

-Hi do you have information on the Mage’s Mixed Classes?

-Of course!

-Thank you for the Patronage!

Just a few more weeks and I can get my own store. Maybe I should call Masa to open one together with me.

Oh, I also need to post a few jobs.

Mink was counting the armors he had made on his stall.

The System could give him the number in a few clicks, but he liked doing it the Manual way.

Nice, I sold a few ones and got 2 orders today. I also have the jobs I got from the Guild.

Now that I have the money I can ask for specific leathers, and with the help of Revil’s compendium, people know exactly where and how to take the leathers for me.

The Item Compendium, as it’s called, has been used a lot by many of the players in Scarot Kingdom.

It had text, photos, drawing and even videos.

Every 2 in-game days a new entry would come out, showing the name of the creature, the drops and loots list as well as a series of info dumping showing how to get all of these items. In the end of the post Revil, the creator of the Compendium, would put the type of merchants and even the types of uses some of the items have.

It was a game changer, both for players and for NPC’s.

No one knows how the NPC’s know about the compendium, but after every new entry, in-game jobs would appear and ask for the same items shown in the Compendium.

Of course, I know. Revil told me, it’s basically a never-ending quest.

At least it looks never-ending. I wonder what would be the final reward?

-Hi, do you have bags for potions?

-Of course, I have legs, waist and even arm bags. I also have normal bags with spots for potions of various sizes…

Of course the crafters were delighted. Both player and NPC alike.

We have a list of items and its uses. Mind you it’s not all, no one would tell all the uses of all the items. But having a base to go on. It’s, it’s, it’s to die for.

I have no idea how the other places are going about it, I haven’t seen a compendium for the other kingdom and empire monsters and items.

The heat of the forge raged on and sweat dripped from her face, but the smile never left.

It’s been a month of play now and at first she thought choosing a crafter was the worst choice she had made.

The shortage of material, the arguments with the Main Guild over the same materials. The players preference to give them to the Guilds.

It was a barren land for any crafter, except the ones who already had Clans. But now, with the Compendium things have changed.

It showed possibilities many crafters hadn’t thought of. Items like the powder of certain insect monsters to imbue weapons to make them lighter. The core of golems to make the fire of the forge more robust.

This and many others, and that’s what it’s on the Compendium, imagine what it’s not written there. There must be some weird combinations of items that can give some different stats to weapons and armors.

I wonder if it’s THE Revil I know. I know it’s the same name, but it’s a big game, could be a coincidence.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

But no matter, thank the gods for the user for making the Compendium.

There are even player trains that take players to the main dungeons and areas with drops that can be sold and given. It’s not even a month in-game since the compendium came out and it’s already as important as it comes.

Now, there is always materials coming in.

Of course, all low level ones, as the Compendium is still getting low levels, but everyone I know is already waiting for when the Compendium gets to level 50 monsters and the Bosses.

I wonder what new things will come out with the “bosses Update” hahahah.

-Stop laughing and continue the work Masa.

-Yes, sir.

When will silver, gold, platinum, steel and other metals appear on the Compendium? For now we only get them from Miners players. I’m sure there are enemies with these type of materials.

Level 35!

Almost on the Bosses levels, just need 15 more levels.

Revil was on the Field fighting beetle-like enemies called Kura.

These insect type enemies were the most asked enemies by the merchants and crafters. Their carapace absorbs the nutrients and magic around them and makes them incredible items.

This was also the Road to the Bosses.

Called like that by the players because certain parts of the map start to “specialize” in certain types of enemies, culminating in a mega dungeon or a Boss area.

He had already started on this Road, when he was fighting the butterfly enemies. But now, the dungeons he is entering are beginning to become fewer and fewer, and he is starting to be more and more on-field.

That also means the area considered being from Grafted City, is ending.

The last dungeon in his journal is level 50. After that are all on-field creatures and of course, Bosses.

Things have come to a nice routine.

He goes out, hunts down a monster for one or two days, looting them from different ways. Some obvious, some given by the merchants and crafters and some he even came up from his wilderness course he had a month ago.

One month, one whole month in real playing, and 4 months in-game.

The hunting, the fighting, the quests.

He already put up on the forums about the Summoner Class, and for sure, many people went to confirm and even more went to change class. Summoning is a well beloved manner of playing. Summoning and Taming.

And about those summoning skills.

None of them look like they make something, for now.

He hasn't seen any fairy. And did not have any fairy help him.

Borrowed magic… He sees a light envelope his fists and legs when he fights, but the damage is the same.

I guess it’s like T&T, it’s magical for the purpose of overcoming defenses?

Maybe there will be a damage bonus when I get more levels.

He is finally ready!

He has at least one skill from each class, even the hidden ones.

Now, just ask me about Classes Revil and be the first one to turn into it.

I guess the next month of gaming will be the same. About 20 creatures. 15 levels. 30 days in-game, 1 week in real.

Is this it?

Am I forgetting something?

Yes, yes, new items, new monsters, BUT WHAT ABOUT CLASS?

You spent weeks coming here asking about new classes, why aren’t you anymore?

Level 38

Elaria seems a little intense nowadays, I guess she also wants me to fight the Bosses.

Ask me about Classses~~

Ask meee~~

Level 40

Now Elaria seems just angry at me.

Is this it? I feel… fine? Maybe not?

Level 42

I like playing. But…

I don’t like it? Am I bland?

Level 45.

Why am I playing? Maybe the bosses will change things.

Yeah, I’m sure.

Level 47

More monsters, more items.

More glares from Elaria?

Level 50

Ooph.

This is it.

I may not play this anymore.

Or play less.

-Elaria?

-Yes!!

-I may come less.

-What?

-Yeah, things, have changed? Or maybe they haven’t.

-What do you mean?

-I don’t know how to explain things, but I think I don’t see things as the same.

-But you’re so close.

-So close?

-When you started adventuring, traveling. Do you remember what you wanted?

-I wanted to make my idea work.

-Exactly! And what that entails.

-Hmm, I did talk about it, but I'm basically agglomerating passive skills. And I hope it works.

I guess it works?

Hmm?

Elaria is glaring at me again.

-Did I do something?

-Urrrgh, You have to ask.

-Well yeah.

-No! You HAVE to ask. It’s part of the rules.

Wait a minute. What?

What is she talking about?

Talking about what I wanted to make, about the past, the beginning.

Am I missing something?

Revil then opens his character sheet.

Is it something I have?

Something I don’t have?

Wow, Attack Movement Skill hasn’t leveled once.

Hisss, my defense is a mess. Only 11.

Jack-O is level 30, that’s nice.

He will quickly get pretty strong.

Oh I am missing my second profession.

Profession? Oh, oh?

My… Class?

-Class?

-Finally!

-Sorry?

-You’ve been coming here for days and weeks asking for new Classes, and I could just tell you the same thing, “Nothing new”. But now you have Skills from all available Classes from Scarot Kingdom. Base classes mind you, both normal and hidden ones.

Oh my god? Oh my god!

-Now that’s the face I wanted to see. Congratulations Revil. You got to change to a new Class we only give to someone who has no idea what they want.

What?

The Special Super Novice Class has been gifted to you

Accept?

| Yes | No |

-What does it do?!

You get a list of basic Skills that you can get from the full Skill list of Classes.

-Oh?

-From all Classes, even the Mixed ones. Of course not the Advancement ones. That I guess you have to advance in yours. Maybe.

-Oohhh! Yes! Yess, Please!

Special Class Super Novice accepted

+1 Stat Bonus to all Stats per 10 Levels.

New lists of Skill updated.

-Finally!

-Also, about how you were feeling.

-Oh, no I’m fine now.

-No, you’re not. Look, I’ve seen some people and even more adventurer’s who get to where you were, not knowing where to go, not seeing where to go. And I highly advise you to travel. Travel and see new things, learn, show. Maybe you’ll find what you need.

-Oh, oh… Thank you.

-Not only that, I’m helping you more. The main Guilds of the other governments learnt about your job as a Scavenger. They want you to do the same for them. I’m gonna prepare the documents for you, and I want you to go all around fighting monsters and seeing new things. Now, thank me.

-Thank you!

-Go get a few bosses, I’ll have the papers ready for you.

-Ok!
