Scarot Kingdom, in its history, has always been a turbulent place. Famine, wars, dungeon breaks.
The wars were mostly because of the famine and dungeon breaks, at least the recent ones. The soil in the kingdom was not as fertile as the others so they waged war for territory. Because of it they negligence a lot of dungeons which caused dungeon breaks that desolated a lot of places in the kingdom.
It got so bad that a civil war happened against the Crown, which was the last war over 20 years ago.
By the end of it one of the most beloved princes became king and he was the one who made a deal with the Adventurer's Guild. The idea to use material and resources from the dungeons was made together between them after a lot of studies.
Now, the kingdom is in relative peace, but there is a lot yet to recover from more glory days.
It's surprisingly full of lore.
Revil started with the books on history, to understand better where he is.
Maybe I can get a few skills here.
The first few hours were spent reading whatever looked interesting and he did get a skill for it.
Reading Skill acquired
But that was it.
He then started reading more specific books, about weapons, techniques, plants, geography, but nothing, no skills.
Hours spent and nothing new.
He needed help.
-Excuse me, uhmm…
-My name is Eladria and yes how can I help you?
The same elf was still working behind one of the counters.
-I can't seem to learn skills despite reading a lot of the books.
-Well that's obvious, they are not skill books you won't learn by just reading, you have to study them.
-Oh… oh… I didn't think of that.
-You're not the first traveller to say that.
Well, I need some papers then. I always study by taking notes and copying things.
-Do you know where I can get some paper and ink?
Following the direction given he quickly found the place, spending the last 50 gold buying two blank journals and writing utensils, putting it all on his Inventory.
Getting back to the guild he started with the first journal. This one he expects to get maybe two skills, but not directly related to what he was going to write.
He was going to make a dungeoneering journal. To do that he started to find the books with information about dungeons nearby. It was fairly easy as dungeons were the thing about this kingdom. He then started to pass the information to his journal, making a few notes and even drawing the maps to the ones who had them.
Compiling the dungeons, comparing the levels, annotating the type of enemies in them as well as special mechanics, levels of each one and the materials it could drop and get in them. Doing all that and putting in his journal in an orderly fashion took days.
The game had a 1 to 4 ratio to time. Which means that one day in the real world is equivalent to 4 days in game time.
3 days passed with him doing all of that.Hhe tried as much as possible to put as much information he could for each dungeon. Unfortunately he ended up using both of his journals doing that. Except he got quite a surprise when he finished.

He did get the two skills he thought he would get, but the bonus was much more than he could hope so. More Experience, specially in the early levels is just so much, you would already level up fast in the early stages, with this you would skyrocket.
Now ready to level more than ever, he didn’t even care that he used the second journal.
Once again, like an excited little boy he ran, this time out of the Adventurer’s Guild and into the city. Getting information with the guards he found the exit he needed out of the city.
Opening this first journal, he decided what was going to be his first dungeon.
He chose the Lost Rabbits dungeon.
It almost wasn’t a dungeon. It was one room that looked like a cave with grass and flowers inside, 5 Horn Rabbits, and they didn’t even group up to attack you if you hit or killed one of them.
It wasn’t very much used if the book was written right, but it did give a chance for him to use his Skinning Skill and who knows, gain the Butchering Skill.
Showing his insignia to the guards he left the city with no problems. But, it was when he finally got outside the gates that he realized how bad the infertile ground problem was. It looked like those post apocalyptic movies. There were barely any crops and the ones he could see were really thin, really weak.
There were a lot of farms. He did read that the kingdom has one organization that tries different breeds and even tries to make new breeds of grains to see if one sticks and likes the place, however no luck has been found yet.
Maybe with us players, one will be a Druid or something else that helps the kingdom, that would be one hell of a quest.
It took about 20 minutes walking to get to the dungeon. Its entrance was like a giant rabbit hole, it wasn’t that hard to find, especially after he read the book, also there were already players outside the rabbit hole.
-Is this a line to enter the dungeon?
-Oh no, we are just waiting for a friend who is doing it. You can find a better dungeon man, just look up BadDragon posts on the forum, he is already compiling a level guide and this one is no good.
-Why is your friend here then?
-Oh he wants to do 100% of the game, whatever that means. We are just helping.
Huh, I’m not the only one with weird gameplays too. I mean I knew I wasn’t alone, but it is different seeing it.
The conversation was just about to end when a player spawns outside the dungeon. He had the same clothes and the same knife as Revil and was beaming.
-Come on guys, the next one is close by!
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
-Yes, yes, let’s go.
They left after saying their goodbyes and recommending again the same player progress guide.
It’s been 3 days in game, I guess if you went directly to level you would be pretty high up. Damn, did I do it wrong reading the books? Writing the journal? No! It’s my character, I’ll play however I want, just focus on yourself.
Entering the dungeon it was just like the book described. A small meadow inside a cave and 5 Horn Rabbits milling around.
Not gonna lie, this is awkward.
He has to fight these rabbits with his hand.
Should I just kick them? I should just kick them.
He kicked one. A very awkward kick.
Oh god how do I fight?
The next 5 minutes was a mess of kicks and misses against a Horn Rabbit.
-Huff, huff, I need to enter a fighting class, asap.
I should have thought of that, but I have no idea how to fight unarmed. I never had to.
Revil left the dungeon without killing all Horn Rabbits. And went straight to the city.
I need the Monk Class guide, the person who gives the class must know how to teach how to fight.
If not…
Part-time jobs and enroll in a class in real life.
He went first to the Fighter’s Guild.
-Hi, excuse me.
…
No luck here.
Then he went to the Adventurer’s Guild.
There, he had some luck.
-I think you could actually go to the captain of the Guards Corps. I heard he was a champion of something.
-Thank you Eladria!
Doing what he did a few times already, he went to a guard outside the Guild and asked where he could find the main building for the Guard Corps.
Arriving there was easy, but now he was worried he might not get what he wanted.
But learning in game time will be so much better than learning in real.
He enters the main building thinking what to say.
-Good morning traveler, how can I help you?
A woman wearing a lighter version of a guard uniform was behind a counter.
-Hi, good morning to you too. Hmm, is there any way I could talk to the Guard Captain?
-I’m sorry, but he is quite busy, what would be the problem?
Oh damn, the first hurdle, maybe… should I be sincere? I don’t want to get at the bad side of NPC’s much less guards
-SO, I mean sorry, hmm, I need to learn how to fight.
-I’m sorry?
-Eladria, from the Adventurer’s Guild said the guard Captain knew how to fight unarmed right?
-Oh, oh, I see. I didn’t expect that from a traveller, you guys usually just go around flinging your weapons, just a few actually know how to fight.
-Yeah, I… I don’t know how.
-Let me do this way then, let me go to the captain and ask him, ok? Ah, you can call me Genny.
The woman, now he knew was called Genny, went inside the building and seemed to go find the Captain.
She came back shortly and started to explain.
-He told me he wouldn’t teach you unless you showed some resolve. You need to train with the guards, until he says it’s enough. How about it?
-Yes! Of course I’ll do it!
Maybe get some skills too!
-Ok, we have two turns of training in the morning and the afternoon, you can choose which one to participate in.
-I’ll do both.
-B-both?!
-Yeah, can’t lose time, I’ll do both.
-O-ok then, both it is.
That day, the rest of it, was spent with Genny showing the place to Revil, the training grounds, the barracks, the place he could shower before and after training and showing him to other guards, so they know who he was.
A month in-game was spent training with the guards and no whiff of the captain.
He did get some skills though.
Conditioning Skill acquire

And got to level them too.

Level Up: Running Skill (Trained Lv: 10)

He also spent long enough in the game to level his Attributes Increase Skills as well as Eagle’s Eye skill to level Trained 5. He did get to experience how it is to see much farther than a normal human, but his attributes were still too low to feel any difference.
The whole month he did the same training as the guards, in the morning, in the afternoon and during the night.
Getting and leveling skills was simply ecstatic.
Unfortunately…
I won’t be able to use Conditioning, I have to activate it to happen, so it’s the first skill I get that I won’t be able to use.
He went to the System option and deactivated the auto cast of the skill. Now he could still condition himself before a battle, but it won’t cast the skill.
It was after the month of training that he finally saw the captain. It was during his night training, a man appeared before him. Using simple clothing, but you could see the scars and the muscles in his body.
-So I hear, you want some special training.
-Are you the Guard Captain?
-Maybe.
-Sir, I need to learn Unarmed Combat.
He didn’t make friends with the guards, but he was cordial with them and learned a few things.
-And why is that?
-Hmm, because I… want to?
-Ha ha ha ha! And you did all this work for it?
-Well, you asked?
-Genny asked, not me, I only learned about you a couple of weeks ago. But then I wanted to know how far you would go. So you want to learn how to fight huh? I can help you with that. How about this kiddo I’ll teach you during the nights?
-Yes, thank you!
-Now, what I will teach you is how to brawl, not some refined ass fighting ok? Be prepared to be purple.
I only spent a week training and I got two skills and now I’m gonna learn how to fight, this is perfect, thank you 1 to 4 ratio.
His lesson started the same night, which he loved, because the next morning…
-Here I am again.
Once again he went to the Lost Rabbits Dungeon. This time to train and kill the Horn Rabbits.
He was still awkward, but he had a stance now, and could actually kick right.
He killed the creatures and started skinning them. It was a mix between amateurish and intermediary work, he did learn the basics in his wilderness lessons.
The butchering though. That was a mess, he had to throw away most of the meat the first few times he did the dungeon, but after a dozen Horn Rabbit he got the Skill.
Butchering Skill acquired
Now he could Take meat and leather from his kills. He would find a blacksmith and do some nice Horn Rabbit leather set and give the food for the Adventurer’s Guild as the stipend he had to send.
Oh fu-.
The stipend, I spent a month training and haven’t come back to the Guild.
He was going to spend more time in the dungeon, but now he ran like crazy to the Adventurer’s Guild.
-Oh honey, don’t worry, Genny came around to brag about the traveler training with the guards.
Eladria laughed while thinking about the meeting.
-She, she did?
-You’re not the first traveler who came to ask for lessons, but you were the first to go to the guards. So we paused your stipend until you finished training.
-Oh, oh, thank you! Thank you really!
-No problem, but now that it’s over you do need to bring materials okay?
-Yeah! I’ll start with meat and the scale up to other things.
-Perfect, good luck!
He started going back to the dungeon happy.
Oh wait, I did kill creatures, did I get Experience?
Nice, level 2! I’m gonna put the 5 attribute point 1 each in STR, DEX and CHA and the last 2 in CON.
A week was spent on the Lost Rabbits Dungeon.
With him being low level, and with the addition of the EXP Bonus he got from his journal, he soon became level 5. It was a bit of a stretch to get to level 5 killing only Horn Rabbits, but he deemed necessary to get all the leather he would need for a set.
Everyday he would gather the leathers, send the meat to the Adventurer’s Guild and during the night train with the Guard Captain.
