Level 23, that’s what the Hydras got him.
And yes, they were one type of elementals. The Water Type. Rametra was very pleased. If things kept going in this way, he may very well have finished this quest by level 30. At least he hopes so.
The week passed and he finally went to get his new companion.
Both Koga and Minx were there at the stables.
-So Revil, have you chosen a name for him yet?
-Ooh, you got to name it? That’s cool!
-I’ve thought about it, at one point it was Jairo, because of a joke back home. But I thought it better to be a pun. I do love buffs and he will be kind of a buff to me, so, Buffa. That’s his name.
-Nice, when I transfer him to you, you’ll get the chance to name him. Ready?
-Ready!
Musk Ox being transferred from Koga to User Revil.
Accept?
| Yes | No |
-Yes.
Choose a name for the Companion.
…
-Buffa.
Companion named “Buffa”.
Confirm it?
| Yes | No |
-Yes!
-Perfect, now Buffa is yours. One thing that Buffa is different from other companions, as you asked for one not for battle, but to accompany you, he doesn’t have a companion sheet. He can take up to 10 hits, from any source, on the third he dies. You did ask for a companion that can survive the wilds for you.
-Companions have sheets.
-Only the battle ones, as they participate in battles they can level up and even evolve. But Buffa here is more of a pet than a companion. Familiars are said to have sheets too, but I’ve never met them.
What?
-What?
-Familiars?
Even Minx was confused.
-Well, it’s like a folklore we Tamers pass it down, it appears that some people didn't make friendship creatures, or tamed them so they could live together, they actually invoke them as familiars. But it’s just a story.
At the same time both Revil and Minx look at each other.
-And now it’s my turn! The armor…
Minx spent some time showing how to put and how to take it off, as well as what pockets he made, where they were, the places for the jars and bottles.
He went all out on this project. He must have gotten some nice levels on his Skills.
Finishing up, the two of them started to walk back to the main plaza.
-Familiars hm, what do you think Revil?
-I’m not sure, it could be a special skill, for Tamers or not. It could even be a Class.
-Ooh, a new Class, a Hidden one probably.
And I think I am on a quest to unlock it. Maybe.
Maybe I should rush it?
No!
Focus Revil, I gotta keep the rhythm.
-It would be nice to discover it. I’d put it on the forum so people would know.
-Oh my god Revil, I was meaning to ask.The one posting about the creatures lootables is you right?
-Probably? I mean I have been doing a quest where I have to loot monsters and I have been posting my findings online too.
-Aah, thank you so much. Thanks to you I have been getting a nice supply of different leathers from low levels and even some higher ones looking for gold.
-Really?
-Yeah, it truly helps knowing what can be looted and how to do it. Also you put some ideas and things other crafters said the loots could be used right?
-Yeah.
-That also is giving a small boon for the crafter players. There are a lot of ideas going around on what to do with what to boost the crafted items.
-Oh, that’s cool. I feel great now, happy to have helped.
-Also there's a lot of people wanting to know when you’re going to tackle bosses.
-Hmm, I haven’t found any and I think I’m in no level for a raid.
-I see, well the first raid discovered is at level 50, It’s an Orc encampment and you have to kill the king to finish it. It’s pretty great, you should watch some of the videos.
-I might as well, Now with the time I have at hand in real, I can watch some videos.
Should I also post videos? I could make videos showing how to take apart creatures…
Nah, I already take a full two days hunting the same creature so I can try all the methods. I should post some photos though, for the most complex ones.
They continued talking for a little while, but soon they were back at Minx stall.
-You can just leave the stall alone?
-Yeah, when you buy the stall it functions like a vending machine, so people can see the wares I have made and choose and buy it. Of course if I am at the stall I can get orders, so it’s better to stay at the stall.
-Wow, thanks for seeing me getting Buffa here then.
-No problems, you helped a lot, and a companion armor? I couldn’t pass on that.
-Thanks anyway. I have to go then, I have to get a few monsters this week, I want to get to level 30 fast hahaha.
-You should, I really want to see what you will discover from the bosses, although the first one, the Orc King, could you get something?
-He is humanoid, so I think not really, I mostly work with non humanoid creatures.
-I get that, it would be weird to skin humans too, can you imagine the type of merchant or crafter would like that?
Necromancers? Occultists? Are these Classes even real? I bet a lot of players would love that.
-I can imagine a few.
-Me too. Well see you then, can’t keep you forever.
…
The creatures he fought on his way to level 30 started to get bigger and more ferocious.
Revil fought various Skeleton- type creatures, Zombies, Tloads (large Toad-like creatures) and other near water creatures, some large sized insects and even bears that would walk like a humanoid.
The best one was the frenzied Cobos. He had fought ones before, but this dungeon was a left out farm with many aggressive adult Cobos that would fight you on sight. They were extremely fast and their kicks hurt like hell.
They were the Air Elementals, maybe they needed to grow so their core would grow. Maybe these specific Cobos were the Elementals, but whatsoever, they dropped cores. And their beaks were really good for medicine also.
Revil even stashes some of the feathers he got for his next armor.
My next armor huh? I really need to work on that.
Minx is a good crafter, maybe I can look for some armors I like and ask him to make it for me. I love the designs of Monster Slayer games, maybe I can get one like it.
I am also quite close to finishing what Rametra asked me.
I really hope it’s a Class, one I can get some nice skills or who knows, maybeTHE Class for me. Although it looks a lot more like a magic Class.
…
At level 30, finally, Revil found the Fire Elemental.
The DUngeon was called Ant’s Farm. It was a gigantic ant hill that seemed not only to go forever, but go everywhere.
There was a species of fire ant in this den, after breaking it apart he found a core in its stomach.
Revil almost went directly to Rametra to show the core and finish this up, but he knew some crafters would like some pieces of the insect like creatures.
The chitin specially was prized by some merchants, so he was stacking Buffa up with them.
It was with great restraint that he went to Elaria and the crafters and merchants he would usually go before going to Rametra.
He even got willpower enough to make the post and upload it before going to her.
-Hello Rametra!
-You seem excited?
-Yeah, I found the core for the Fire Elemental.
-Good! Come in, I’ll be able to finish it up very fast.
Revil entered the book full house and saw what appeared to be 3 crystalized symbols floating around. One white, one yellow and one blue. Each a different symbol.
I really want to ask what they are, but by the colors I think I know.
This is exciting.
Rametra put a bunch of cores on top of a rune circle on the ground, got a book and started to chant.
The circle started to shine, the core too.
Then they started to melt and float at the same time. Mixing it up with each other.
It felt like a long time took for them to turn into a crystalized symbol, but it must really be very fast.
-Oof, there. Finished it.
She sighed with closed eyes and kept them closed for a little while.
A little light burst out of her.
-I did it. I did it!
In a strange show of excitement, she yelled.
Do I say something?
-Well, Revil. Congratulations. You’re in front of the first Summoner in ages.
-You’re the one that deserves congratulations.
-Let me just see what I got. Then I’ll give you your reward.
Revil stood there for twenty minutes.
On the five minute mark he was looking at his own status.
On the fifteenth he was bored to hell. Even Buffa showed his head on the window to see what was going on.
-Okay. Your reward.
Hidden Class Summoner gifted.
Acquire it?
| Yes | No |
-No!
-What?!
-Sorry, sorry, I’m really happy that you got to be a Summoner, but I have other plans.
-What could be better than being a summoner?!
-I…I!
Dammit, dammit.
-Spill out!
-Ok!
Revil then recounted his plans and how he wanted to evolve as a person in-game.
-I see.
Is she ok with that?
-True, a Summoner wouldn’t be the best Class for your plans…
She went into deep thought and seemed to be looking at something.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
-Let me do it like this then.
She raised her hand and pointed at me.
Skills gifted.
Hey, Listen! Skill Acquired
Borrowed Magic Skill Acquired
Fairysense Skill Acquired
-I’m giving you these three Skills. I don’t know how you’re going to be able to use them, but that’s the reward. Now, shoo. I need to think of a way to find test- I mean students.
-I can help you with that!
She looked warily at me.
-Yeah, us travelers have a way to pass information to others, I can tell about you and people will come.
-Fine then, what do you want in return?
Ok, ok, now’s the time, I need to see if what happens with tamers is the same with summoners.
-Summon something for me?
-Summon something for you?
-Yeah.
-Why? Oh yeah. Hmm, how much Intelligence do you have? And how much mana?
Oh fuuu- I have like nothing.
-I have six in intelligence and about one thousand mana.
-No intelligence then, but quite a nice mana pool, not big, just bigger than I thought.
She once again began to be in deep thought until she had an idea.
-I know, and it will go well with your Skills. I’m gonna summon a Wisp for you. It’s like a fairy before it exists as a fairy. It’s gonna be a basic one, no elemental, as you don’t have the intelligence for that.
Rametra quickly went around the room, grabbing a few books and 4 cores, one of each type. In the same rune circle, she put the cores and started reading.
She took just a few minutes and soon was chanting something.
The room brightened up and the same light coalesced into a little Wisp. It was white and it looked like a little fire floating around.
Unnamed Wisp has been given to you.
The Wisp then started to float towards Revil and stopped on top of his shoulder.
Oh my god he’s so cute.
-Hey little guy! I’m gonna call you Jack-O.
-So you already got a name for it?
-It’s a name that’s synonymous with Wisp. So I thought it would be fine.
-Hmm, well, I gave your rewards, now give me my test-students.
-Of course! How should they come to you? Just show up?
-Yeah it’s fine, then I can test them and see how well they behave.
-Ok…
Revil was sent out of the house and quickly logged out.
He spent the afternoon writing a post on how to go to Rametra’s house in Grafted city. Put the screenshots of the elementals she summoned as well as the Wisp. And wrote how she would test each one, which he thought would mean a quest.
The post was fast getting popular and even got pinned as one post about a Class would normally be. Especially after being confirmed.
Some players got chosen directly, mostly players who had played for a while but haven’t chosen the Class yet. So it was quickly confirmed.
After writing the post he went back into the game.
…
Now, the summon.

It was a very basic summon, VERY basic. It took a constante 100 MP from his Mana bar and it needed 1 INT to be able to keep it. He also went to read the Skills he got.
Hey, Listen! Made so Fairy-like creatures helped you more when summoned.
I guess Wisps are considered fairies.
Borrowed Magic imbues your attacks with the magic of your summon. In the case of Jack’O it probably meant that his attacks were considered magic now, as he had no element.
Fairysense made so he could actually see fairies.
When she gave him these Skills, she probably meant for him to befriend fairies so they could help him. Well…
He can still do that.
