During the daylight in-game, Revil would play. During the night he would go to real, spend about 1 hour training, and have 1 hour to relax, take a shower, eat and the like. The other 6 hours he slept and cooked food if necessary.
Before he would spend the max amount of time he could, until he had to leave to eat or take a shower. And do it the fastest possible.
This week would be the start of this new routine.
I even got a personal trainer to do a training routine for me.
Now, if I want to go in line with what I was thinking, I should…
I’m gonna get two more Skills from the Ranger set, yeah.
Zoology Acquired
Mineralogy Acquired
This one increases my damage against beast type of enemies and the other against earth type enemies.
I’m going all out on helping Minx and Masa, so I’m going to choose Dungeons where I can get them their respective materials
Looking through his journal, he found a Warg Den, that was level 16 to 20 and one dungeon with mini golems, that was level 21 through 24.
This is going to be his plan till level 25.
Wargs to 20 and golems to 25.
He will have the leathers for Minx and the minerals for Masa.
…
The Warg Den was a cave-like structure with many rooms.
Each room had from 2 to 3 Wargs. It was going to be a fairly hard dungeon, as he would be alone doing it.
But he went slow and sure.
Using his Darkvision and better vision range, he would pick and fight the pairs. To get used to their fighting.
It was steady work, his skills were still low level, so not much damage was given. But he knew with time things would change. Time was on his side, so he was sure he would get it done.
His HP was pretty high, he thinks, so he could maintain the fight for a long time.
Still, he needed to rest after each room.
Luckily, Wargs were beast types so their attacks are easy to learn and then easier to predict. Swipes with claws, lunges to bite. Only one gave him a surprise by tackling him.
It took him a week and a half to get to level 20.
Grabbing all the Warg Pelts he skinned, he went to Minx.
-Hey Minx.
-Revil hi!
This time, there wasn’t pouches and bags on his stall, he had now armors and gloves and cloaks. He seemed to be raising his levels and items pretty well.
I wonder what Class did he choose. I know his Profession is Leatherworker by the type of things he makes, but Class… I have no idea.
Would this be a good thing to talk about?
-Hey Minx, so… What Class do you have?
-Huh? Oh, I have the Crafter Class.
-Crafter? It’s not one of the basic classes, it’s not even the Merchant Class, now that I think about it.
-Oh yeah, it's a “Hidden” Class. It’s a pretty well known Class, for people who want to craft, you just need a profession that crafts and go to the Merchant Guild.
-Why not the Merchant Class?
-I didn’t really want to travel, or buy and sell things to get gold, I wanted to create a specific kind of item. So Crafter is better. You get Skills that increase the quality of your creations and extra experience in your profession.
-That’s cool.
-Yeah, me and Masa both got the Crafter Class. With your help and of some others we are really getting things together now. Thank you.
-No problems, I actually like having ,like, a quest to do, get things too Masa and Minx. I haven’t got many in game actually.
-You haven’t? How?
-I dunno, how do you get them?
-I ask around. I go to the Merchant Guild and look for job postings, and nowadays I even get them out of nowhere from NPC’s who need something done.
-There are job postings?
-Of course, every Guild has it.
-Now that you said it, I think there was something about posting in the Guild, on the second floor I think? I guess I just didn't care much about it.
-How have you been getting the gold and experience to level and get Skills?
-Well, you know, hunting, going to dungeons, selling the stuff I get to you and Masa as well as the quota from the Guild
Minx looked surprised.
-Wow, you must be very patient, you get so little experience and gold like this. What level are you?
-20
-20?! Still? I thought you were at a much higher level.
-Why?
-Because the game started a few weeks ago, most people who started at launch are level 40 or so. Most likely even higher for the ranked ones.
-Huh, maybe I should look for these quests.
-Sure do, you may get weapons, extra experience, extra gold and even fame doing them.
…
Selling the pelts to Minx, once again he finds himself in the main Guild. This time he just waves at Elaria, and goes to the second floor where the job postings are.
There must be one for Golems.
There!
Someone is asking for minerals gotten from Golems. Hmm, but I’m already giving them to Masa.
There are some for Warg pelts, but those went to Minx.
Huh, kinda disappointed.
No matter, I’m level 20, let me look for a new Class.
…
At level 20 none of the Guilds had new Classes.
Unfortunate, but maybe on level 25…
To the Golems then… Wait.
I should ask Elaria.
-Elaria, hi. I need… help?
-Hi to you too Revil and hmm sure? How can I help you?
-I need quests, to get more levels, more gold, these types of things.
-Oh, Oh!
The second “Oh” was more exciting?
-Actually, if I remember correctly you made a few journals right? May I see them?
-Of course.
After what felt like 10 min of her reading the contents of the journals, she snapped them close and looked at me.
-I actually have a quest for you, Revil.
-For me?
-Yeah, not many people can compile information like this, and not many people like to do it or choose to do this quest after they do something similar.
-Ook?
-So you know how our Guild has this library, right?
-Yes.
-We try to compile as much info for the adventurers as we can, but we always need more, or miss stuff. This quest gives a Profession to help with it, if you choose to accept.
-What is the quest? This feels like it’s too suspenseful.
-We need, well, want, to have a compiled list of items you can get from each monster. I can give you the Scavenger Profession, and I’d give you rewards for each type of enemy you compile the info.
-This actually feels kinda cool, so I would collect items from each monster and compile them in books?
-Yes and go around the town talking with merchants, crafters and the like to see what could be used in what. But we need this for the most amount of enemies possible, no matter how low level it is. Oh and here, 5 fame for the two journals you made.
-I kinda love it. I have Skills for Writing, and I think I can learn the Drawing Skill too. I accept.
-Are you sure?
-Yeah, I think this will be fun and also it’s a way to have some kinda os quest, an infinite quest, I don’t know.
-Thank you! That would help a lot.
Profession Acquired
Scavenger
-Some of your Skills will move to the Profession table, that’s normal. I’m also giving you one skill for your profession, the others you’ll need to buy.
Field Mastery Skill Acquired
Using the chance, He bought a few Skills.
Mining Skill Acquired
Cut Down Skill Acquired
Although these skills seem more for a gatherer outside of combat, there are tree like enemies, as well as the golems that I could mine on.
With that I needed now to spend money on bottles and containers for the items he would have to carry around. As well as some more journals and writing tools, an ax and a pickaxe.
With the help of Elaria showing the places on the map, Revil went around the city going from crafter to store, to buy what he needed.
You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.
He looked like a proper researcher of some kind with his backpack full.
…
First he sent messages for Masa and Minx, explaining he got a quest and it may take a while to get them materials.
Now, to think on how he’s going to do it. On a few spare papers he got he started to sketch.
Monster Name
Item 1
Item 2
Item 3
Item 4
Item 5
A basic sketch started to be made.
He went around the library and got a few plant books and got ideas from them, making lines, pointing parts of the animals, as well as little notes on how to harvest the parts.
He knew the first enemy would be a slime, so he made a very bad sketch of it.
He didn’t get the Drawing Skill, but he thought he was ready.
This will be cool. Like the wilderness classes I got.
…
The first enemy he went to find were the famous slimes.
This one didn’t even appear in dungeons, they were in the fields near Grafted City.
He went near one, knowing they were very passive, and started to draw it. One journal was all about drawing the enemy till he gets a satisfactory one.
Drawing Skill Acquired
Then he killed the Slime.
Destroying the core was the easiest way, so that’s what he did. But then, what if the core was a material. He tried to put his hand inside a Slime and just take the core out.
It worked.
He got the juices, the membrane and the core, as well as the coreless body of Slimes.
Writing all of it in the journal, he drew the slime, the core, wrote how to get the core intact and besides it, he listed the materials.
Going back to Elaria he showed his results.
-Wow, that’s exactly what we want! I see you used the herbology books as examples. It’s perfect. Now, the second part of the quest. Going to the crafters.
Enchanters, Blacksmiths, Goldsmiths, Leather workers, Weavers, Chefs, Painters, Designers, Restorers, Scribes and a myriad of other professions were visited.
Elaria took him to each one and introduced him.
It was astounding the amount of crafts that existed in-game.
One thing that he tried to do, at each one of the crafters he said he would compile for the next monster: Horned Rabbits. Some said nothing could be used, and some said they could use something.
This way he could know some things to watch out for.
Slimes, Horned Rabbits, Hornets, Pupas, Cobos (a type of flightless bird), Small Treants, Wolves… Even Goblins and Kobolds were hunted and compiled like that. He got teeth, claws, blood, organs, stingers, feathers, leaves, spores, weapons and whatever he could get from enemies.
Each time he would go back to the city and show his results to Elaria and then to the crafters.
He met dozens of NPC’s and he would be polite to them and show his results as well as the page he compiled the information. Some crafters even had ideas on how to harvest some materials.
One level was gained in the 20 days he spent compiling the monsters.
But he felt great.
Each monster he brought back info on, he got gold, and fame, but very little experience.
Finally, he did something he never thought he would do.
He posted his findings.
Remembering the days of the Beta, he would get information only because of those players that put them online.
He posted his findings on Classes, which apparently wasn’t anything new according to the few commentaries. But the sheer amount and maybe all the Mixed Classes he found were not yet online. So he posted what classes you needed the combinations of Skills of.
And finally, he started to post his journals, both the dungeons ones, and the monsters ones.
Rivel Created an Rare Item
Monster Material Journal Lv1 - 10 (Grafted City)
A compiled information on Beginners Monsters
Dungeoneering Journal Lv11 - 20 (Grafted City)
A compiled information on Beginners Monsters
Now this got some attention, not the journal per se, but the fact he was posting so much info. It was like he was starting to become one of those information gatherers of games. He even got some Clans wanting to recruit him.
But my build is not right for it, so I should not enter any, at least for now.
…
Now he was back at where he was before, the Golem Dungeon. He was here both to level, at most 2 levels, and to compile information on them.
I already got some tips for carving and mining the core of the golems as well as shaving the minerals off their bodies.
Luckily he had time to readjust his fighting. Some places he had someplace to put his backpack on, like dungeons , but the creatures he fought on the field he had to fight with his backpack on.
He had a much more stable stance, focusing on using his legs for stability more than to fight with them.
The golems were easy picking, they walked alone and could be fought alone too.
Revil would then cradle the golem’s body on his lap and start shaving and breaking it apart.
Taking in account the time he took to make drawing of the creatures, the harvesting and study of them, this many times, as he had to make sure of the accuracy of his findings as well as try different methods, both that he made up and that a crafter or merchant told him how to.
For example, larger golems had larger cores, but they were usually more fragile, because they weren’t as condensed, so he couldn’t use the pickaxe to take out, he had to use Archeologist Tools, to get to the core little by little.
He would spend about two, at most three days here. Every 2 levels there were about 2 creatures one could find with the same level. In this case, level 21 and 22 there was this golem and on field a creature called Sweetums, that had a back full of spines and said to have a really sweet tooth.
