Chapter: 35 Collision

The opulent dining room was filled with an air of surreal tension as the Meta Ops arrived. Camellia Lairein, a woman who was not easily intimidated, regarded the newcomers with an inscrutable expression. She knew that the arrival of the Meta Ops always demanded the utmost respect.

Commander Thorne, the lead Meta Ops agent, stood at the forefront. He was an imposing figure, his aura emanating an indomitable presence. His ice-blue eyes bore into Camellia as he spoke with measured authority.

“Camellia Lairein,” Commander Thorne began, “We have reason to believe that you have individuals involved in illegal activities - Theresa Calahan, Tony D’Amico, and Rob Lawrence.”

Camellia regarded the Meta Ops with a level gaze. “Commander Thorne, I am aware of their activities. I have taken it upon myself to rectify the situation.”

Thorne’s icy demeanor did not waver. “This is a matter for the Meta Ops. We cannot have rogue entities operating within our jurisdiction. Hand them over.”

Camellia nodded. “Very well. They are in the custody of my security personnel. I shall summon them immediately.”

Meanwhile, in the concealed sanctum of the Chimera organization, Remy was informed of his next move. It involved one of their elaborate laundering operations within the Tragedy club. A discreet call was made to one of their trusted business partners, Silverclaw.

The voice on the other end was laden with urgency. “Silverclaw, we have a situation. One of our partners who oversees the club Tragedy has fallen under the scrutiny of the Meta Ops. They’ve apprehended several of our people. We need you to intervene.”

Silverclaw replied in a calm, measured tone. “Leave it to me, Remy. I shall ensure that our interests remain undisturbed.”

Remy knew that Silverclaw would handle the situation with his usual means and disconnected the call. The lycan was not one to be trifled with, and any threat to their operations was dealt with swiftly and efficiently.

The Meta Ops’ transport, an imposing armored vehicle guarded by agents armed with mystic-imbued weaponry, came to a halt. Commander Thorne and his team disembarked, their every step resonating with an air of authority.

Silverclaw had been waiting for this moment and had prepared accordingly. With an electrifying surge of speed, he descended from the shadows and landed on top of the vehicle’s roof. A wicked grin stretched across his face hidden beneath an ornate mask bearing his namesake.

His quick movements belied his animalistic agility as he disabled the transport’s security systems with deft precision. As the rear doors swung open, an aura of panic and confusion overtook the Meta Ops.

Thorne drew his weapon and aimed it at Silverclaw. “Stand down,” he said.

“Not so fast,” Silverclaw said as he pulled out a small device from his pocket. “This is a remote detonator for a bomb I planted in your transport.”

The Meta Ops froze.

“Now let Tase go,” Silverclaw said.

The Meta Ops reluctantly released Tase.

“Thank you, Silverclaw,” Tase said.

“You’re welcome,” Silverclaw said as he turned to Tase and handed her a helmet. “Now let’s get out of here.”

Tase ran for Silverclaw’s motorcycle - a silver blur in motion - and jumped on it before speeding off into the night.

The Meta Ops watched them go helplessly.

As Silverclaw and Tase rode away into safety, Silverclaw reached into his pocket and pulled out a small silver object - a vial of silverclawite - a rare and powerful mineral that could only be found in the deepest parts of Silverclaw clan’s ancestral mines.

Silverclaw had been saving this vial for a special occasion - he knew it was dangerous but also knew that it was the only way to defeat the Meta Ops.

He uncorked it and drank it down in one gulp; his body began to glow with an intense silver light as his muscles bulged and senses heightened.

“Hold on tight,” he said to Tase as he accelerated his motorcycle to incredible speeds towards the Meta Ops’ transport - his body glowing like a silver comet.

The Meta Ops saw him coming and opened fire but Silverclaw was too fast for their bullets; he dodged their lasers and missiles with ease.

He reached their transport and slammed into it at full speed; it exploded in a ball of fire as they flew through the air before landing safely on the ground.

Thorne turned back to Silverclaw who had emerged unscathed from the explosion.

Silverclaw turned to the Meta Ops. "Now," he said. "Who wants to fight me?"

The Meta Ops looked at each other and then turned and ran.

Silverclaw laughed.
