Z-01 felt a surge of adrenaline as he jumped from the rooftop and landed silently on the balcony of the target’s house. He was wearing a black suit and a mask that covered his face, hiding his features.
He was not alone. He was accompanied by five other super-soldiers, each with their own codename and abilities. They were L-03, K-06, B-05, F-04, and N-02. They were his teammates, his only family. They had been trained by the Singularity, a secret organization that worked for the government, to be the ultimate weapons.
Their mission was simple: eliminate a known chimera and kidnap his children. A chimera was a hybrid creature that could fuse with other beings and gain their traits and abilities. They were the result of a failed experiment by Singularity. They had escaped from the laboratory and formed a secret society.
The target was Dr. Moxe, a nice doctor who lived in a suburban neighborhood with his wife and two children. He was also a ghoul-turned-chimera, hiding his true nature from everyone. He had been infected by a chimera that had taken over his body and mind.
Z-01 and his teammates had been created to find and destroy the chimeras. They had been given enhanced abilities and skills by Dr. Stein. They only followed their orders and completed their missions.
Z-01 signaled to his teammates to split up and enter the house from different points. He used his telepathy to communicate with them and his telekinesis to unlock the door. He entered the house quietly and scanned the rooms for any signs of life.
He found the target in his bedroom, sleeping on his bed with his wife. Z-01 approached him slowly and aimed his finger at his head. He fired an energy beam without hesitation, killing him instantly.
He heard a scream from the bed. It was the wife, who had woken up and seen her husband’s dead body. She looked at Z-01 with horror and disbelief.
“Who are you? What have you done?” she cried.
Z-01 did not answer. He did not feel any pity or remorse for her. She was irrelevant to his mission. He shot her as well, ending her life.
He searched the room for any clues or evidence that could lead him to the children. He found a photo album on the nightstand. He opened it and saw pictures of the family in happier times. He recognized the children as two eight-year-old twins, a boy and a girl.

He used his telepathy to contact his teammates.
“I found the target and eliminated him,” he said. “I also found pictures of the children. They are twins.”
L-03 looked around the room. She had pale skin, white hair and violet eyes that could hypnotize anyone. Her bunny ears were cute, but she could also use them to manipulate energy. “Good work, everyone.”
K-06 scowled and sniffed the air. He had tan skin, golden hair and silver eyes that showed his intelligence. His lion ears matched his hair. “Where are they, though?”
Z-01 shrugged and tapped his wrist device. “I don’t know. There’s no sign of them in this room.”
B-05 growled and clenched his fists. He had tan skin, silver hair and golden eyes that expressed his anger. His wolf ears were pressed back.“Let’s check the other rooms. Maybe we’ll find some clues or something.”
F-04 nodded and adjusted her mask. She had tan skin, red hair and blue eyes that sparkled with mischief. Her fox ears were noticeable. “Be careful, though. I’ll scan for any hidden devices or wires.”
N-02 looked bored. She had tan skin, brown hair and green eyes that displayed her curiosity. Her cat ears were evident. “Watch out for traps.”
Z-01 nodded and left the room. He searched the other rooms for any signs of the children.
He found them in their bedroom, sleeping on their beds with their stuffed animals. They looked innocent and peaceful.
Z-01 felt a pang of something in his chest. He did not know what it was or why he felt it.
He shook his head and ignored it. He had a mission to complete.
He took out a syringe from his pocket and injected them before taking their tranquilized bodies from their bed and slung them over his shoulders.
Z-01 carefully carried the tranquilized bodies of the twins out of their bedroom and made his way back to the rest of the team. L-03, K-06, B-05, F-04, and N-02 were waiting for him in the living room, their expressions masked by their stoic professionalism.
"We have the targets," Z-01 announced, his voice devoid of any emotion. "They're secure."
L-03 approached the unconscious children and studied them with a mixture of concern and detachment. She checked their vital signs and confirmed that they were still alive.
“They’re alright,” she said. “They also have traces of ghoul DNA in their blood.”
“Are they dangerous?” K-06 asked.
“Not right now,” L-03 said. “But they might be when they wake up. We need to get them to Dr. Stein as soon as possible.”
“Roger that,” K-06 said. He took the girl from Z-01’s shoulder and carried her in his arms.
Z-01 looked at the boy he was holding. He felt a strange connection to him, as if he could sense his thoughts and emotions. He wondered what his name was, what his life was like, what he dreamed of.
He shook his head and followed his teammates out of the house. He did not have time for such distractions. He had a mission to complete.
They left the house without leaving any traces of their presence. They had killed the parents, taken the children, and destroyed any evidence that could link them to the crime. They were efficient and ruthless.
They got into their black van and Dr. Stein drove them away from the neighborhood. They had a long way to go before they reached their base.
Z-01 looked out of the window and saw the sun rising in the horizon. He felt a pang of something in his chest. He did not know what it was or why he felt it.
He closed his eyes and tried to forget it. He had a mission to complete.
