Being strange kinda puts one off, huh? Doesn’t matter, I release a lot of stress writing this story. Lot of reducing my emotional baggage. But with the story actually arriving, my tension is rising!

Lance sat back down at his seat next to Josh, with Flare still hissing in anger towards him. He put his headphones back in his ears and started to drum his fingers on the table.
“Considering Lance is first and Josh is last, who’s 2nd, 3rd, and 4th?”
“Tch! I don’t think I or Rocky over there could last against that raccoon’s fire at all.”
“I’m a [Ferret].”
“Whatever. Don’t complain, I’m saying you’re second.”
“Hmph.”
The atmosphere between these players was awful. The [Tyrant] was grumpy, the [Rock Man] was pervy, Lance was too devious, Flare was spoilt rotten, and Josh was iffy. Josh was actually the tamest of the bunch, but if (s)he had actually fought with others when Spells and Skills were off limits, (s)he would have won hands down.
Fighting OP MCs can do that to a person. A pirate, a ninja, an alien, a shinigami, and all sorts of other super mainstream shounen heroes would all be extremely hard to beat. But Josh had actually managed to do all sorts of previously thought impossible feats of strength.
Things like the [Flash Step], [Finger Bullet], [Body Harden], and even stuff like [Air Jump] could be used by Josh. (S)he just did not have the necessary Stats to compete with such monsters.
“So what’s my penalty?”
“Probably you will have memories and experiences of your childhood, but you will not be able to decide your fate. You pretty much get to be transmigrated into a [Unicorn].”
“I’m not quite sure where the penalty is in that.”
“You will take control of Jessica Shutters, a [Were Unicorn] orphan raised by the nearby knights. Jessica will have her previous memories, and they will affect you. You shall now be gender confused.”
“Will it really work like that? I mean, a five year old versus an 18 year old won’t amount to much.”
“You’re forgetting that Jessica will have magic training. Her memories and emotions will be stronger as well. Don’t just convince yourself that you will stay the way you’ve always been. Even these guys changed a little upon arriving here.
Take the [Tyrant], for example. He hates the world and himself, just like he said, but he became a King. The [Rock Man] was a closet pervert, so why pick a job that would make it hard for him to keep his urges under control? Let’s not forget Flare and her lazy self.”
“Shut up!”
“And even Lance here has changed from the pathetic sack of shit he used to be.”
“Oi. What the fuck? Just cuz I have headphones in doesn’t mean I can’t hear you.”
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
“Good. Anyways, he used to be a lazy prick. Now he’s an ambitious prick.”
“Of course. I can do anything I want here.”
“Exactly. You can become anyone you want. The [Tyrant] wants to change his ways, the [Rock Man] wants to act upon his desires”
“NO! I want to try harder at NOT being a pervert! It’s just too hard!”
*snicker*
“Wow. So mature, smart one.”
“What? I needed a good ‘That’s what she said moment’.”
“…Anyways, Flare probably was too busy or tired to do what she wanted, but coming here changed what she wanted. She had no desire for whatever it was before, so she wanted to live an easy life.”
“Hmph! Don’t act like you know me!”
Flare actually curled around in Josh’s (Jessica’s) lap and covered her face with her tail, as if shutting out the words of the shitty skeleton.
“Whatever. If that doesn’t work for you, I will just leave you with a curse. I guess it’s time to end this for now. The door that leads here can be activated using the Mission System. Just press the green icon on the right.”
The players took this chance to look at the Mission System. There was the Main Page that held information regarding the current Mission Tokens, Gold, and Chests. For Josh (Jessica), he had zeros across the board, er window…
It was situated like a mobile game with tabs and colorful links leading to the Lottery and Shop Windows. There was a total of 5 Windows. Mission, Quest, Lottery, Shop, and Inventory. The Mission Window had the list of Missions available and if selected, would display more information on the Mission. Same for the Quest Window.
The Lottery Window had several buttons to choose from and had pictures of different colored chests overflowing with treasure. The original Chests were the 1,000 MT, but there were Bronze, Silver, and even Gold Chests with higher prices. Bronze was 25,000 MT, Silver was 50,000 MT and Gold was 75,000 MT. This made it seem MT was going to be easy to acquire, but only just helping the [Tyrant] managed to come away with an astronomic amount of…100 MT. How was anyone supposed to get that much?!
It seemed that the Author’s Lottery was the same way with Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
Moving on to the Shop, Josh (Jessica) noticed that the Shop was
Josh (Jessica) was too engrossed in figuring out the System, and was startled when Flare jumped out of his (her) lap. (S)he looked up and saw the others leaving through doors similar to the door in his (her) space.
“You can use that green button on the Main Page to summon the door. Yours comes with a dial so you can select a destination. Now it’s about time you left. Have a fun time!”
And with that, Jessica was born.
“Yeesh. About damn time. Now I can leave and begin my life, too! So long, assholes!”
The reaper left through his own door as well. The meeting room was quiet and peaceful. No one remained.
Except several strange shadows still flickering along the walls.
