I regret to inform you loyal Readers out there that I will be dropping this story.
What the hell?! You just handed it over to me!
Yes, but I had to edit it and rewrite it. You aren't as good an author I thought you would be. And besides, there's too many elements to keep track of. Even if I only write about one person, there's still 5 or six to keep track of. I may decide to return to this story once I have more time, but for now, it's getting shelved.
Without further ado, the last chapter.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
Jessica started off practicing her [Nature Magic] and [Rainbow Magic]. She went into the brush where many monsters existed. She would grow plants along the way and target herself with [Red Wave]. She would use the magical energy in Pestle to complete the Spells. This way, she didn’t have to worry about running out of MP. She also acquired the [Mana Manipulation] Skill.
She currently did not have any actual attack Spells, but she did try and reenact the moves she performed in the space. Jessica ended up getting the [Qi Manipulation] Skill along with creating Skills that used Qi.
This included, but wasn’t limited to,
* [Finger Bullet]: a small blade of Qi would extend from the finger, causing damage upon contact
* [Flash Step]: By pushing the Qi to the feet, the user can travel at fast speeds
* [Body Hardening]: Using Qi as an armor will alleviate special attacks’ damage
* [Kinetic Shock]: a Skill that uses centripetal force, the user spins condensing Qi to their hands or feet and releases the energy, creating a ripple of dangerous force
Because of these and other such Skills, Jessica got the {Move Maker} title. After the entire day, just as the sun was setting, Jessica arrived at her house on the edge of the [Unicorn’s] pasture. This was where she slept at night. The other [Unicorns] would turn into their Moonlight form, but would still disassociate with her.
But that was okay, since they were a group of no good, lazy, good for nothing potato sacks. There was a village not far from here that the Seventh Squad was stationed at. This village might hold information of her parents. She decided to head out at first light. She cooked some small animals she hunted and some vegetables she harvested.
After eating, she slept.
----------------------------------------
That night, Jessica had another dream. In it, the boy from before was there, but he looked different. He was wearing weird clothes, a strange wig, and an odd eye patch. He carried a sword on his left hip and Pestle was holstered on his right side. Obviously suspicious, Jessica couldn’t help but ask,
“Who are you?”
The boy stared at her and then held his hand in front of his face, blocking her view of his facial expression. His wig cast a small shadow over his face, so when he bent his head forward, the shadow made him look creepy. He dropped his hands by his sides and started to guffaw, his face now facing the sky.
He finally calmed down and answered,
“I am Joshua, Disciple of Darkness. It would seem that I might actually get a chance to be of use. If you ever need help, remember these words.”
The boy who called himself Joshua began to fade out as words appeared in his place.
“Arise, Deliverer of Deceit, for I invoke thy name so thine will be done! Save this one from her plight, as she needs the power of Night! Come, Disciple of Darkness!”
The other boy, Josh, showed up as well, shaking his head and pleaded that Jessica never ask for Joshua’s help.
Jessica awoke in the morning feeling confused. The words the weirdo said were still imprinted into her memory. All she had to do was think it, and the words would appear again.
After eating breakfast, Jessica traveled to the village. Along the, she defeated monsters and animals. Jessica felt really strange, since there were two people inside her. Joshua didn’t do anything, but Josh kept ‘telling’ her body what to do, leaving her no room for control. So she would take control for other things. Like skipping, or looking at the flowers.
Joshua would practice Skills and Spells leaving Jessica to admire the surroundings. She understood that Josh defeated monsters for money and food, so that wasn’t a problem. She saw the knights hunt before, too. The main issue she had was all the strange memories now contained within her. She saw strange contraptions that look like something the [Tyrant] would make. She saw cool moving pictures with voices and music, and could taste flavors she had never actually experienced.
So while she was sidetracked, Josh handled everything else. Jessica was only five, and also didn’t need to actually fight, so when she actually practiced, she grew fast. The next level Spells were already unlocked!
[Entangle] grows vines around a target, constricting their movements and slowly draining their energy.
[Orange Burst] throws an orange ball of color at the enemy, slowly burning them. There was also the chance of getting the Excite Status, which made the enemy reckless, leaving many openings for the user to take advantage of. Using it upon herself would allow her to experience a growth of speed.
Although the Spells leveled up, Jessica did not. [Unicorns] were tougher creatures, so their growth was slower in exchange. After arriving in the village, Jessica asked around about her parents. She heard a tale of some [Unicorns] causing trouble five years ago, but she would have to speak with the Mayor.
Before going to see him, however, Jessica went to a big building that had a big sign in front in the shape of a shield, or badge. It was the adventurer’s guild! There were many different branches, with many different styles. This was a simple branch, since it was only there for the hunters to get rid of any magic stones they obtained.
In the Alliance, magic stones, or monster cores, were collected and studied by the guild. This allowed the Alliance to receive many good things. The stones were good for magic and powering ancient contraptions. Of course using those contraptions was illegal, but many high ranking mages dabbled in the know-how of mechanics. It was like a hobby.

But Jessica was here so she could work towards becoming an A rank adventurer. She could get a license to forage for now, and when she becomes 15, she can become a full-fledged E rank Adventurer. She registered as an F rank adventurer and accepted some low danger foraging Quests. Once she accepted them, they appeared on her Mission List.
She turned over all her belongings that were Quest related and gained some money, as well as a few MT. After receiving her rewards, she left for the store, in hopes to find books, clothes, and tools.
She didn’t have enough money for books or tools, as books within the Alliance were created the old way, denouncing the [Tyrant], and tools would not be sold to a little girl. She spent the next hour walking around the village in her new outfit, which was a simple hide chest plate along with some pants. Wearing a skirt wasn’t going to make battle easy, after all.
She eventually arrived at a rundown church. Wondering why a church wasn’t doing well, Jessica went inside, hoping to find some more Quests.
When she walked in, all she saw were little dirty brown piles of something all over the floor. The pews were all stacked against the wall and these mounds of mess were making noise. After shutting the door behind her, she heard a hissing sound.
She looked over to see a sister gesturing for her to walk into the next room. The room was a kitchen, as it also had a table. The sister returned to her seat where a mug of something sat, steam still rising from the contents.
“Welcome to the Church of Fœthia, the Goddess Nourishment and Crops.”
The sister was visibly tired, not expending the effort to be enthusiastic.
“Were those kids?”
“Yes, little one. While most of these children had their parents conscripted for the war, some others are orphans who lost their family to monster attacks.”
“Monsters?”
“Sorry, I shouldn’t be talking about such a scary thing to such a little girl. No need to worry. I take it you must be the unfortunate [Unicorn] I heard about from the knights.”
“You know them?”
“They stopped by yesterday, leaving some food and clean linens. I wish we had beds or at least something for the kids to sleep on. The lord only focuses on his city, while we small villages get left behind. All of our able bodied men are sent to war, while we have to defend ourselves from bandits and monsters still.”
“Are the monsters that bad?”
“They didn’t use to be. It’s almost as if the [Tyrant King’s] awakening sparked some sort of change. It’s all because of that mad man.”
Jessica also had memories of this [Tyrant]. She knew that this wasn’t the case entirely. So she asked a little tough questions.
“What did he do?”
“He challenged the Gods.”
“How?”
“He tried to become a God.”
“So are the Gods wrong for becoming Gods, too?”
The sister was about to reply, before catching herself in thought. It was great, the things kids could get away with. If an adult had said this, he would be deemed a traitor. A kid doesn’t know any better, so Jessica was safe.
The sister was coming to terms with her thoughts. Josh decided for a final blow.
“The Gods need to learn to share.” Josh added a pouty face for good measure.
After seeing the lady struggle with her own faith, Jessica decided to calm her down.
“Is it okay if I come by, every now and then? I am trying to find my parents.”
Those words immediately snapped the sister out of her funk. One reason was because she wanted to distract herself, the other was because she heard something important! She remembered that this child was also an orphan!
“Find them? But aren’t they…”
“I know. But I want to find out where they came from. I want to know what they did, or if maybe there is more of my family.”
Listening to Jessica’s story, the sister began to tear up as she hugged Jessica tightly saying she could stay forever if she wished.
Jessica soon apologized, saying she was going to visit the Mayor. Then she got up and left quietly without waking the other kids up.
