“Ooo what do we have here? A living breathing person, here of all places? Are you lost little lamb?” she says, taunting me.
“Nope, not lost. I’m here for your key and before you launch into your speech, I know you won’t just give it to me so let’s just fight and get this over with.” I said tiredly.
“Now that’s no fun,” she said while pouting.
And then she was right in front of us. Tendrils of shadows danced at her feet and they shot out around her in an attempt to skewer us all. I tried to jump away but was pierced in my left shoulder. I went to fire a Frost Shard at her but she was already back where she had been standing previously.
“Be careful Greg, she’s a Shadow Person.”
“Got it, how do we kill it?” I yelled back at Vaeda.
“They’re weak to light or holy based magic. They also become weaker the closer they are to light.”
“Thanks. Milo please figure out a plan and ASAP. Xeaos engage her now and I’ll provide cover fire.” I commanded.
Xeaos barreled forward and attempted a Shield Bash on her. She exploded into shadows as he went through her and then immediately reformed. She then shot a black orb at his back and it just sinks into him. He turns around to attack her and is visibly slower than before. He must have been hit by some sort of slowing debuff. Now was a good a time as any to get in the fight. I started firing Frost Shards at her but all they succeeded in doing was blasting holes in her that quickly reformed. She didn’t even need to dodge them she was just existing and my skills wouldn’t work. As I’m firing Xeaos tries to decapitate her, hoping maybe that would do something to her. And both of our attacks prove useless.
Milo walks behind me and tells me he has formulated a plan. We go over it quickly and I cast Cloak Of Shadows to try and sneak around her while she is distracted. Then Milo orders The Horde forward and the skeletal mages also start firing Fireballs at her. The first Fireball hits right before The Horde is within range of attacking. Surprisingly enough she doesn’t allow this skill to hit her, she actively dodges to the right. And that’s when the second one came. It hits her square in the chest and she screams like a banshee as the fire spreads across her. Looks like Milo was right and fire does hurt Shadow People.
She then envelops herself in darkness and all of a sudden there is no more fire spreading on her. Or anywhere for that matter. The next Fireball comes sailing through the sky at her and a wall of darkness juts out of the ground and absorbs it. At this point, The Horde has arrived in full force and has started boxing her in along with Xeaos. They aren’t there to finish her off, they are just there to distract her so I can get in position.
“Yikes, that Fireball was scary. Good thing I was able to put it out. Where’d you go little lamb?”

She then starts sweeping her gaze around and somehow she manages to see through my Cloak Of Shadows. Either her perception stat is crazy high or she has a special skill.
“Found youuuuu” She says as she disappears.
This time I’m fully paying attention and I see what she’s actually doing is turning into a 2D shadow on the floor and racing at me. I try to run and realize my back is to the wall. Panic briefly appears on my face as she arrives in front of me. But just as she is coming out of the ground a smile flashes across my face and I shoot a Black Ice Shard into her shadow body. Luckily it does work, unlike my previous Frost Shards. She reforms her body and is clutching her leg where my skill had pierced her. While she is glaring at me a couple of Fireballs coming blasting towards us and hit her in the back. She yells even louder and then she starts vomiting shadows onto the ground in huge blobs. They start bubbling and spreading all over the room. I am standing at ground zero and I was worried the shadows would hurt but they just wash over me doing no damage and not even leaving a debuff. They spread throughout the floor and all over the walls and ceiling. They have encompassed everything including the torches. Then she spoke;
“Lights out”
Pitch black was all around me. I couldn’t see even an inch in front of me. I guess she had used her shadows to cover the room in darkness. I was still bleeding from my shoulder but it wasn’t as severe as it had been before. I go to yell out and find my mouth isn’t making a sound. Great,
she also has a dampening or silencing effect on top of the darkness. I need to figure a way out of this. Wait, that could work.
I fished through my pockets to take out my fire crystal. I tried to activate it but as soon as a small flame was created the shadows swarmed it and snuffed it out. I figured that would happen so I tried plan b. I began using Manipulate Shadows to start calling all the shadows in the room to myself. I kept at it for over five minutes. Finally, the room was bright again. I struggled to keep my eyes open because of the light. When I looked around I was dismayed. All of The Horde had been killed. All that was left was a very wounded looking Milo and Xeaos barely holding on. I noticed my mana and saw I had about 100 mana left. I yelled at Vaeda to shoot some Black Ice Shards in hopes of doing some damage. I hoped this would be enough for my new plan. Thanks to me getting rid of all the shadows in the room I could finally use my fire crystal. So I kept pouring point after point of mana into it until I had put over 50 mana into it. I ran over to her and watched as Vaeda managed to shoot her right in the chest with a Black Ice Shard. It did a bit of damage and gave me the opening I had hoped for. Then when I was within fifty feet of her I shot out a regular Frost Shard. She dodged this one by opening a hole in her body and when I saw that I threw the fire crystal into the hole.
Her body reformed along with the crystal inside of it and I worried my plan hadn't worked. Then she looked at me with a pained look on her face as the shadows her body was comprised of began to bubble. Then came the popping sound of the bubbles combined with her ungodly shrieking. I guess being burned alive from the inside is truly the worst way to go. She looked me in the eyes as she exploded in fire. I held up my right arm to shield my face and while I didn’t receive any burns my bone arm got scorched pitch black. All of the shadows I had been holding together dissipated into nothingness and on the ground was a key. Then the blue screens assaulted me.
