I spent the next week hunting undead and managed to increase my overall level by three. I dumped the points into mana because I was going to need it for what I planned to do next. My overall mana was now 660 which should be enough for what I needed. I had asked Vaeda if there was a way to get rid of a golem once they were created. He told me I should be able to just reabsorb the mana used to create the core and it should just disappear. So I called over the big guy and found that I had no idea how to reabsorb the mana. So I felt around within my core until I found the thread connecting the big guy to myself and started to pull. At first, it was difficult with it feeling like the golem knew what I was doing and didn’t want me to destroy it. That was probably just my imagination though. Eventually, I succeeded and the big guy’s core crumbled within him and his body fell to pieces onto the ground. I felt a tear almost well up inside me. I was going to miss the big guy but his sacrifice wouldn’t be in vain.
I sat down and started gathering mana while activating Create Golem Core. I pulled open my status and saw the mana rapidly draining out of me and cap off at 300 mana and a baseball-sized black orb dropped into my hand. A blue screen told me I had successfully created a Golem Core (Uncommon). It was shiny and felt smooth and cool to the touch. I examined it and couldn’t find any blemishes. I placed it down on the ground in front of me. While I was checking my status I saw I now had 6,250 Soul Energy more than enough to use my Soul Bind skill. I activated the skill.
Soul Chamber skill; Soul Bind activated.
Please select one sentient soul:
Xeaos
Just like last time a golden orb formed in my hand after I selected Xeaos and this time I willed the soul into the golem core. The soul floated over to the core and flew right into it.
Due to the host successfully binding a second sentient soul, a new Soul Chamber ability was unlocked.
Imbue Soul: Imbue an object with soul energy, reinvigorating it.
Cost: 7500 SE
But then nothing happened. The golem didn’t spawn or anything. Milo, Vaeda and I were kind of awestruck. Vaeda flew over to the core and tapped it with his talon.
“Hey anyone in there?” Vaeda said.
“Quiet bird, “ came a gravelly voice from the core.
“It looks like it did work My Lord, it seems that maybe the soul is the problem, not the core.”
“Sick I thought I had messed up somehow. So Xeaos why haven’t you spawned yourself a body?” I asked.
“Simple I refuse to be made of inferior materials such as dirt or stone. I command you to find me a suitable body.”
“Oh, buddy you seem to be confused about something. I am in charge, not you. And before you spout something about killing me for my insolence why don’t you examine the soul thread binding us together. If I die, you die, simple as that. Now, why don’t we start over and I’m sure you’ll find I’m a quite reasonable fellow.”
“Fine. It seems you speak the truth. I’ve worked with my fair share of masters who dabble in the dark arts. What do you want me to kill? What would you have me do? What unspeakable acts will I be committing?” Xeaos asked in a pained voice.

“Nobody, unless they attack us first, protect me, and no unspeakable acts here pal to answer your questions. I’m not some evil bastard hellbent on killing the living. I just want to survive this dungeon, get out, and find my friends. No slaughtering the innocents or raising armies to pillage. I’m just a regular guy doing my best.”
“Are the words you speak true mortal?” He asked.
“Look Xeaos the words My Lord speaks are true. He has never mistreated me or even been rude even though we were once enemies,” Milo added.
“Yeah what Milo said. And if you’re that hung up on the whole body thing we’ll wait till I can get you a better body or materials to make one and then you can finalize your form. Does that sound good to you?” I asked.
“Let’s say I believe you why would you trust me. I know what Milo has said but I cost you your arm how am I to believe you would not hold a grudge?”
“Because that's the kind of person I am. I don’t really hold grudges. Plus we’re even now I figure. You cut my arm off, I killed you. Also, you should be able to tell my feelings are sincere though the soul thread. Just like I know for a fact that Milo would never betray me, I know you won’t either. So what do you say Xeaos, will you join us?” I asked with a shit eating grin on my face.
“Alright, if you truly hold your end of the bargain with finding me a suitable body then I will serve you for the rest of our lives.”
I picked up the orb and put it in my pocket. It was kind of annoying but it would have to do for now. The next docket on my agenda was to try combining two of my skills. I had tested out using Cloak Of Shadows on another person, that person being Milo, and I found that it was possible as long as I was within five feet of them. Once I had confirmed that I moved forward with the next thing; seeing if I could use it on objects. It didn’t work at all. I was back at square one. So I started over from the beginning. I materialized a Frost Shard and just kept it spinning in place. Then I activated Manipulate Shadows and tried to move the shadows onto the shard. It proved quite hard as it kept spinning. So I tried to slow it down. It eventually stopped spinning and I was able to move the shadows onto it. When I tried firing it however the Frost Shard shot off without the shadows on it. Days went by without any progress until Xeaos spoke up to me from my pocket.
“Umm, Master might I offer a suggestion? Seeing as I used to be a Death Knight I am somewhat familiar with dark energies.”
“Hey totally forgot you were here Xeaos. I’m totally open to help and don’t call me Master please it makes me very uncomfortable” I replied.
“Then I guess I’ll call you Greg for now. What I found when imbuing dark energies you should start doing it at the beginning of the skill forming not at the end. If you do it at the beginning than it allows the energy to full combine with whatever skill you’re attempting to cast.”
“Holy hell why didn’t I think of that? That’s so simple but also genius. Xeaos thank you so much. I think this will help me finish off my idea.”
Following along with Xeaos’ advice I activated Manipulate Shadows at the same time as Frost Shard so that the shadows were being ingrained in the crystalline structure of the shard until the ice took on a darker hue when it finished forming. It looked like black ice, where it was now almost completely see-through. This thing looked dangerous. And as if telling me I had succeeded a blue screen popped up
