Chapter 28 2nd Floor

Chapter 28 2nd Floor

It was now 2 AM: Leiu has been farming in the dungeon more than 2 hours. After killing that mimic, he resumed his hunt and killed any Blob he could find. It became way easier when he got used to it, whether it's his Chain Mastery or Dark Sword Mastery, they contributed a lot.

He began farming in this Dunbgeon when he was just Lv30, took a rest when he reached 33, and now, he was a few dead Blobs away from Lv38.

He didn't even go to the second floor, when he goes there, it'll be better as the Experience from the blobs would be much more.

The only reason he stuck here for so long was to wait for Baldy's party. Searching the whole floor might take some time, however, spotting parties from afar was doable and easy.

After farming in the first floor for a whole 5 hours or so, Leiu, at last, decided to check the second floor. Maybe his quarry was there. Moreover, the pros of descending far outweighed the cons.

To access the second floor, one had to go through a narrow cave at the end of the first floor. It was very narrow and could barely hold 2 people, it stretched for 100 meters and at the end of it was yet another huge cave but unlike the first one, there were some blue lights in the ceiling.

They didn't provide enough light for the parties to fight, but they weren't useless either. When Leiu saw them, he was curious about what they were, the light was beautiful in such darkness and around the blue light were countless white particles that circulated randomly around it.

From the information he got from the Hell Gate Forums, he knew that the monsters on the second floor are also Blobs, but there were 3 kinds of Blobs.

The normal club-wielding Blobs, the bow-wielding Blobs and last but not least are the rare mage Blobs, they couldn't use high-leveled magic, but just with their earth spikes or sudden clay pits are already deadly for players.

There was also another kind of monsters but they rarely attacked unless you purposely bothered them, it was bats, they usually stick into the dark ceiling and do not budge all day, they only attack if you annoy them.

Just at the entrance of the second floor, there was a white pillar and a blue light circle around it, it had a diameter of 10m, it was a safe-zone.

Each dungeon had these zones and it was used by parties to rest, after all, each party had to recover Stamina, Mana, and Health in case they were in a bitter fight. No monster can enter it and if players purposely brought monsters here, they would be instantly killed by a beam from the pillar, the players won't receive any loot or Experience from the killed monster.

If such a cheap trick could be used, Levelling would be very easy, one just had to bring countless monsters here and let the pillar take care of them.

Leiu sat in the safe zone to recuperate what little Stamina he had missing, as for his Health and Mana, they were full. He opened his message log and checked his skills.

Carving Shot'(Normal); Basic Lv6=>7 : You can heavily swing you weapon Horizontally dealing 175% damage, there is 15% chance of causing the enemy to be stunned for 3 seconds.

Dark Empowerment(Basic Lv4=>5) : For 30 seconds, you gain 32% physical and magical damage reduction and 22% more damage

Cooldown : 9 minutes

'Excellent'

One thing Leiu noticed is that once the skills become Lv5 or higher, it takes longer to level them up, but what made things better is that skills like (Darkness) would continuously upgrade when he's in a dark place, he didn't to do need to do a thing!

Moreover, the darkness-related skills would level up faster in such a place, thereby making this dungeon the perfect place for him.

The loot Leiu received from the Blobs wasn't too shabby, whether it was items or money, he received a lot. About half an hour ago, he looted some good Gloves that he equipped as they were better than the Standard Gloves he was wearing. As for the money, he now had a whopping 47 Gold! This was a fortune for him.

...

'The progress is good, but it things would be infinitely easier if I had a self-Healing skill.'

Leiu grunted as he disliked the fact that, to get his secondary class, he needed to reach Level 50. Some posts falsely claimed that it was Lv40, not 50, which urged LobiSoft to let officially quell those rumors and confirm to the Players when exactly they'd get access to their secondary classes.

Leiu had 12 levels to go, which might seem little, but it's too far, levels become harder when you level up. Moreover, this dungeon was 'farmable' until Lv45, at most.

Dungeon Bosses took half an hour to respawn, plus, parties would be lining up to kill it by the time he reached Lv45, so it's inefficient to waste time waiting for it to respawn. There was the possibility of perishing too as fighting a dungeon boss alone was considerably difficult, if not outright impossible. After all, the Bosses were designed to be tackled by a well-geared party of Players.

----------------------------------------

After fully recovering his Stamina, Leiu started searching for Blobs to hunt on the second floor. He saw several torch lights from afar but he didn't get close to them as there were many monsters in the way.

Contrary to the first floor, the second floor had a greater number of monsters, especially the Blobs, they were everywhere and it's hard to evade them all.

The first group of Blobs that Leiu spotted was a group 4, 2 club-wielding Blobs and two Mage Blobs. They held a two feet wooden staff and were tattered and dirty robe.

Leiu prepared his chains and waited until they were close time him. When they were close enough, he showed himself from behind the cave wall and hastily struck down with his black chains.

With great whistling speed, the chains hit the club-wielding Blobs, which were surprised by this sudden attack. They were used to do the sneak attacks and not the other way around, since players hold torches, it was rather easy for the Blobs to spot them, but never were they attacked sneakily like this.

By the time the Blobs reacted, the chains had hit the first Blob and surprisingly, the low chance effect of stun was activated. Leiu noticed this and didn't waste any second to finish them.

He rushed at the mages Blobs to finish them first, one of the club-wielding Blobs was entangled for a couple of seconds and the other was stunned like the mage Blobs, for Leiu, the mages were much more troublesome so he decided to finish them first.

[Invisible Strike] was launched and two clean and powerful slashes hit the Blob's face and chest, causing blood to splatter and a huge sword scar appeared on the Blob's face. Without waiting for it to wail from pain, Leiu followed that with a vertical sweep of his sword, easily beheading the low Health mage Blob.

The stun effect was going to end, so Leiu turned toward the other mage Blob, which was just next to its already dead comrade. A white sword beam was created from his next strike as he used [Carving Shot] at the Blob's chest, aiming precisely for its heart.

His Dexterity was rather high, coupled with his countless battles with the Blobs, missing the heart is highly unlikely. If one had grasped the enemy's weak points, it is possible to instantly kill it, even if its a slightly stronger monster. In a normal game, no matter where you hit, it's the same thing as you have to get rid of all the Health Bar, in Hell Gate, there are also some similarities such as the Health Bar but it's realistic in a way that beheading or stabbing the heart will definitely kill the enemies, however, it's only applied to Pve.

In PVP, one has to empty the enemy's health bar.

Blobs are monsters similar to goblins, they have weak and fragile bodies, despite their high health bar and Lv, they can still be killed quite quickly if you aim properly.

...

The black and white sword easily cut through the Blob's skin and penetrated its heard, fresh blood came out of the cut as the heart stopped beating and a huge bloody wound was created as Leiu took out his sword from the wound.

The Blob lifelessly fell on the ground and by that time, the final Blob which was stunned was now free from the effect, it turned around and crazily rushed at Leiu while chopping down with its wooden club.

Leiu didn't panic and raised his sword to receive the incoming attack, with two hands holding the sword, Leiu slashed at the wooden club without any hesitation, his eyes didn't show any hesitation, only complete calmness.

His powerful slash was more than the Blob could handle, although it was the one which attacked first, Leiu's reaction was faster and it was able to deflect its club and even push it a couple of steps back, but that was just the beginning, what followed left the poor Blob unable to resist.

A barrage of attack was launched by Leiu, he slashed multiples times without stopping, each slash was aimed at a vital spot of the Blob's body, whether it was its arms, legs or head, he concentrated his attack to limit the Blob's movements and tried to cut one of its limbs to make it in a disadvantageous position. His barrage of attacks was successful as he managed to cut the Blob's left thigh, making it fall on the ground but that was the moment the poor Blob had its fate sealed.

Just as the Blob fell, Leiu finished it with a clean stab in its chest, its Health was already low so the stab was enough to kill it.

Leiu was going to take out the sword from the Blob yet again but he suddenly let go of the sword and used his left hand, which had the black chains around it, to tightly hold the chains and pull them down.

The Blob which was entangled was now free as the time of the entanglement had passed a second ago, it was at Leiu's right side and its wooden club was already launched and aimed at his head.

He didn't have enough time to block with his sword, so he took advantage of the chains which were still wrapped around the Blob and pulled down, despite them being wrapped around it, it didn't entangle it and only granted a small slowing effect that was barely noticeable.

Him pulling the chains suddenly managed to disrupt the Blob's swing but it was not enough to stop it, the wooden club was still coming down at Leiu, its target was changed at the last second. Leiu didn't panic as a white shield appeared next to his right shoulder, the wooden club hit the illusory shield and was deflected.

The Blob was dazed for a second as [Counter] was successful and blocked its attack while inflicting damage to it too, Leiu grasped this opportunity to throw his chains at the Blob closest to him, obviously, the poor creature couldn't retaliate for it was mercilessly squashed to meat pieces by the cold black chains.

He expended a bit of effort but at the very least, fighting here was better. The Experience was 3.5% better and the fights were more exciting, he had to focus on long-ranged so it could be considered some kind of training for him.

...

Leiu continued hunting until he got close to a party, they were apparently fighting a group of Blobs and seemed to be winning easily. It was a party of 6 with 2 people at the front. Leiu could distinguish a very familiar yet annoying figure at the front, it was an armored Baldy that was holding a shield and blocking the clubs of the Blobs.

'Finally...'

Leiu approached the fighting party from the darkness and made sure not to make any sound to alert them, he didn't attack right away and merely stared at them silently.
