The three other mounts disappeared, leaving only Milkan, the dark beast looked at Leiu coldly, who stared at his next master in silence.
You obtained a new skill! 'Mount Summon'(Normal) : Except at special places, you can summon your mount anytime and place, however, it can only be done when the Dark Knight is not in-combat.
After the last message appeared, Milkan disappeared like the other mounts. Leiu did not hesitate and used the new skill 'Mount Summon'.
After 3 seconds, he was sitting on Milkan's back. It was unexpectedly comfortable despite the lack of any supportive equipment like a sadle.
Amongst the 4 mounts, the horse was the tallest, the turtle had the largest body, the leopard was probably the fastest, and Milkan was likely a combination of all three, not excelling at anything in particular.
Due to mounting 'Milkan' : you gain the buff 'Shadows'
Buff 'Shadows I' : At night or in shadows, you deal 10% more damage ; this buff can be stacked if you mount 'Milkan' everyday.
(Maximum of 3 stacks)
Leiu couldn't be happier as he read this message, adding this 10% to 15% from his class, totalling to a whopping 25% increased damage at night.
All he needed now was good items: the Steel Sword wasn't going to hold on much, it had 6 durability left, and his gloves were destroyed in the second Trial.
As for controlling Milkan, it was neither complex nor troublesome. The King of Shadows seemed in synch with its master's thoughts, rendering any verbal commands obsolete.
After roaming the manor one final time, Leiu unsummoned Milkan and teleported back to the village. It wasn't wise, or safe, to show-off his new mount in this place as that could possibly place a target on his back. Players couldn't kill each other in the Beginner's area, but that rule was removed once they were in Weiji Continent.
"Young man,you succeeded."
The old man didn't look the least bit surprised to see Leiu become the Dark Knight. He nodded his head once while thoughtfully scrutinizing him.
"Give me the reward for the quest."
"Tch! Speaking to your benefactor with such attitude. If it weren't for me, you think the System would've offered you the Dark Knight class?"
Leiu heard the first part of the sentence, but the second part seemed 'muted'. Confused, he frowned and looked at the old man, who simply shrugged his shoulders.
As it turned out, the reward for the quest was a Gold Coin, which was a lot for beginner but still not enough for Leiu. Two of the three Trials were extremely difficult, and that was while excluding the time spent on them. That precious time could have been spent familiarizing himself with the city and levelling up.
As he walked around the village, Leiu checked the time only for his feet to come to a screeching halt. With a look of absolute shock, he checked the time multiple times.
'Am I hallucinating or what? How could this be possible.'
It was currently 2PM right now, so how could he not be shocked? He logged in around 9:10AM, meaning that more than four hours passed.
The only cause he could think of was the third Trial, but even then, he was certain that he wasn't in that vision for more than half an hour, at most. Even though he wanted answers, there was no one to provide them, so, with a sigh of disappointment, shifted his attention to something else.
He now had one gold coin and 45 silvers, so, basically, it was 145 silver coins. It was a good amount, but thinking about those rich or powerful people, they must have much more than him.
First thing Leiu did was go to the blacksmith and buy 5 Steel Swords. Weapons running out of durability was a big problem for him, who spent most of his time away from main settlements. He couldn't afford losing his weapon and having to waste time returning to the village to buy more.
A Steel Sword costs 3 silver each, so 15 silvers were used to buy the 5 Steel Swords. He also bought a decent armor and some gloves.

Standard Leather Armor(Normal) : +2 Vitality / +2 Strength
Standard Gloves(Normal) : +1 Agility / +1 vitality
They were not extraordinary, but they should be enough for now, after all, unlike most of the players, he was not going to teleport to a main city right now.
The beginner's village became emptier, which was unsurprising given the fact that all players rushed to the Weiji Continent, which was where the good quests and rewards were.
The blacksmith also had an option which allowed him to repair all his gear, costing him 50 coppers.
He also went to buy Health Potions, he looted 4 from the boss puppet, and he spent 20 silvers to buy 100 of them. It was a ludicrous amount, but they he deemed them necessary.
Leiu didn't stop at that, he also spent 10 silver buying 25 Mana Potions. Now that he had a skill that required Mana, he had to invest in those potions to quicken his recovery between fights.
So, with 104 Health Potions, 27 Mana Potions and decent equipment, he roamed the Village and accepted the only 2 available quests.
Get rid of forest wolves : 0/10
Gather wolf furs : 0/5
He wanted to see what lied deep in the forest as many people ignored this entire place, deeming it a waste of time. In fact, they weren't entirely wrong. The Experience rewarded by the monsters here was pitifully low, the rewards were utter garbage, and the quests were boring and unintuitive fetch quests.
Leiu, too, wanted to hurry to the city, but not before dealing with the wolves. He had barely won against them last time, so he wanted to a rematch, not only to see how strong he had grown, but to also hone his combat skills more. He wanted to repeat what he did to the Bees and Rabbits/
...
Leiu advanced quickly through the forest and when there were no Players around, he summoned 'Milkan' to move much faster.
With Milkan's speed, it didn't take much time to arrive deeper into the woods, where the atmosphere turned gloomy it and the trees became noticeably darker and thicker.
Darkness(passive) is now activated due to the dark environment
'Huh?'
Leiu was startled by this: the skill said that it was only active only at night, but now it was the middle of the day. it was a bit dark in the forest, but not to the point of being complete darkness.
Well, whether it was a mistake or not, this assumed 'bug' worked to his advantage so he didn't complain.
After he unsummoned Milkan, he began carefully finding wolves to hunt, which, dissimilar to the bees and rabbits, were more aggressive and numerous.
The first group he found was a group of 2 wolves, they were roaming around the forest, maybe searching for prey.
Leiu unsheathed his Steel Sword and prepared himself, unlike last time, he had much more confidence in killing them, moreover, with the 25% bonus damage, there was no way their fur or body would resist his attacks.
Thus, with an impressively charge, he closed in on the pack of wolves, not bothering to sneak like last time.
The wolves were not afraid of him, seeing only one enemy, they didn't run, instead, they leapt at him, each from a direction.
2 clean slashes were enough to behead both wolves, the Steel Sword cut through their neck with ease. Even Leiu didn't expect something like this, still, a grin formed on his face as he looked at the gruesome sight of the beheaded beasts. The Exp rewarded was 0.4%, making it absolutely not worth to grind Forest Wolves for levels.
...
Currently, Leiu was surrounded by 6 wolves, there were 3 corpses lying not far behind him. In the beginning, there was a pack of 9 wolves, but Leiu snuck up on them and swiftly killed three from the get-go.
The remaining six surrounded him, preparing to make use of the numerical advantage to overwhelm him.
3 wolves jumped at him, each aiming for a spot on his body, and in response, Leiu stood in the same place and thrust his blade at one of them, penetrating its head and killing it with one hit.
The other two, dangerously close, opened their mouths and prepared to bite. Leiu leaned downwards, avoiding the fangs of the wolf on the right, though the remaining wolf managed to bite down with its teeth. Fortunately, the wolf bit down on the upper-left side of his torso, and its teeth were unable to dig through both armors that Leiu had been wearing. He did lost a bit of Health, but it wasn't a fatal strike.
In this time, Leiu grabbed this opportunity and used [Invisible Strike] to finish the wolf in the right, then he kicked the wolf biting his torso, forcing it let go. Quickly after, he took one step forward and stabbed with the Steel Sword again, pushing it deep into the target's half-open mouth.
Just after disposing of the three wolves, Leiu saw the remaining enemies charge at him so he backed towards a tree and kicked it, using it as a momentum to jump in the air. Just like what he did with the Puppets back in the second Trial, Leiu descended on one of the Forest Wolves. While holding the blade with two hands, he swiped it downwards, thrusting it into the fur-covered back of one of the wolves.
The other two wolves stopped their tracks, seemingly hesitant, looked at the human who had just killed most of their kin.
Upon Seeing their momentary hesitation, Leiu gave them no time to flee or take any action. He felt his heart beating rapidly, his whole body enveloped in the exhilarating thrill.
