"Monster Bounty Hunter? Is it a Rare class? I've never heard of it... or maybe it's a Unique class?!"
Jane was surprised as she learned Leiu's class. She thought of him as a total beginner and had a shabby normal class, which was why she wanted him to join her Party so that she could help him level up quickly and get some good gear.
"It's a Unique class."
Hearing his reply, Jane let out an exaggerated gasp and covered her mouth.
"H-How did you get it?"
"Can't tell you. Unique Classes are just that... unique. They can only be used by one individual. But it's better that I keep how I got it to myself. The same goes for you, too."
"I would have told you if you asked."
A bit dejected, Jane excused herself soon after, finally allowing Leiu to resume his monotonous work.
...
At 6:30 AM, Leiu's shift was finally over, however, as he was changing from his work outfit, the Manager abruptly barged in, scaring almost everyone.
The red-haired woman scanned everyone with her eyes, the perpetually angry expression on her face was even more clearer today.
Hye Nari was a beautiful woman whose attitude didn't match her appearance. She had a particularly vulgar mouth and a hot-blooded temper. Except the fact that she hailed from a rich family, Leiu knew little to nothing about, but he was still grateful for help and genuinely liked her as a person.
She paid him a very good salary and seldom scolded him, though that was mostly due to the fact that he didn't laze around or waste time gossiping.
In fact, Sylvester and Erik were always the target of her wrath.
"This run-down building will receive some renovation for the next couples of days. You idiots don't need to come!"
Erik's face paled as he heard that. He misunderstood what Nari said, moreover, when she had spoken, her eyes were focused on him and Erik.
"M-manager! Are you firing us?"
As she heard that, Nari frowned,
"Fuck! Are you deaf or what? I said I'm going to do some renewal to the building, so it is unnecessary to come to work for 3 or 4 days!".
"So, does everybody understand? No need to come!"
Hye Nari swept her gaze across all her employees before dismissively waving her hand.
"Leiu, come my office before you leave."
...
The manager's office cozy but not as big as one might expect: There was a simple desk and big leather chair for Nari, and besides that, there were a multitude of antiques and decorations that didn't fit this place, all of which were neatly ordered next to the wall.
"Come in and sit."
When she saw him knock on the door and wait, she beckoned him and pointed to the chair.
"How is work in the café?"
"It's fine."
"Erik and Sylvester... those two shitheads aren't bothering, are they?"
"No."
Hye Nari, with her chin resting on her hands, looked at the pale-faced expressionless youth.
"Is your sister well?"
"She is."
"You know you can ask me for help if you need anything, yes?"
"I do. Thank you, boss."
Hearing his perfunctory responses, Hye Nari sighed and nodded her head. He hadn't changed a bit from the past, and even if he needed help, she was certain he wouldn't come to her. Still, it was good to see that he got his life together and looked livelier than in the past.
"Alright. You can go."
"Thank you, boss. Take care of yourself."
Leiu bowed his head and swiftly left the office.
----------------------------------------
It didn't take Leiu too long to return to his apartment. He was feeling tired, both mentally and physically, so he didn't bother opening his laptop or logging in to the game.
After changing his clothes and eating something, Leiu went to sleep.
They are coming. Prepare yourself and gather everyone. You cannot do it alone... nor should you. Open the Gates and conquer THEM. Judge THEM. Black Sin. Black Sin. Black Sin.
Leiu's eyes jolted awake, his body soaking with sweat and his breathing rapid and heavy. He slowly sat up and looked around, feeling chills all over his body.
'A nightmare. It's been a long time since I had one... but this wasn't about what happened in the past.'
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
Leiu wasn't a stranger to nightmares, and though they weren't common, he struggled with sleep a lot in the past, mostly due to what happened to him and his sister. As a flood of unpleasant memories flashed in his mind, Leiu inwardly cursed and left the bed to take a shower.
He realized that he had slept for several hours, but he still felt exhausted.
A bit later, after changing into fresh clothes, Leiu's vision was, yet again, covered in Darkness. It lasted for almost twenty second this time, making him panic and think that he went blind. When everything returned to normal, he could feel a warm and refreshing wave of rejuvenation that swept in his body, making all the fatigue go away.
'Am I finally losing it?'
As he let out a self-deprecating laugh, Leiu wore the Synch Headset and logged back into the game.
Very soon, he appeared in Black Mountain City. There were many things he wanted to do today, and the main thing was trying to kill Suk and his Party Members. It was going to be a bit complicated, but with the right preparation and the perfect environmental conditions, he was pretty confident in winning.
'Right, the chains. They're not a common type of weapon but there is a chance I find a store that sells them. Blacksmiths have a higher chance of having them, I think.'
Leiu arrived at a normal blacksmiths' shop. It was nothing special, a two-story building made of bricks
Once inside, he made his way to the reception desk, behind which stood a large man with tanned skin and a fierce pair of eyes.
"Hello, do you sell chains?"
"Chains? We are blacksmiths, we do not make chains."
Seeing that the receptionist denied his request immediately, Leiu creased his brown and retorted
"Chains are a weapon too. I didn't believe them when they said that this place is lacking in weapons but it turns out to be true. What a shame..."
Of course, Leiu was spouting lies. This was the first Blacksmith shop he visited.
Right after, from the back of the room, a short old man appeared. He had a dirty face filled with some black spots due to smelting and forging of the weapons.
"Wait! Who said that our shop is lacking? It was Frank's wife, right? That woman likes to spread rumors everyday! You, boy, what did you say you want?"
Leiu contained the grin forming on his face and clamly responded,
"Chains."
"Who the hell did said that we do not make chains! Not only do we make chains, but we also have good quality chains too!"
"You employee here said otherwise."
"You.... Tom! You lazy bastard!"
The old man, infuriated, proceeded to kick the burly receptionist, making him apologize and cover in fear.
"I'm very sorry for his behavior. I'll show you what we have."
The Blacksmith, Guthne, led Leiu to an adjacent room and showed him the available Chains.
"Chains are rarely sought after, so they are not displayed with the other weapons, but we have a dozen of them with varying sizes. Take a look"
Steel Chains(Normal) (Length : 2 meters ) : +5 Strength / +2 Dexterity
'Not enough...'
Refind Iron Chains(Normal) ( Length : 1.5 meters ) : +3 Vitality / +3 Strength / +1 Dexterity
'Still not good.'
Leiu was not satisfied at all with these chains. They either seemed to be of poor-quality or were simply too short.
"Do you only have these batch of chains?"
The old man kind of suspected that these chains would not please Leiu, despite that, he showed them to him as perhaps he would buy one of them.
"No, we only have these. chains are very rare and hard to use, so most of the blacksmiths here do not waste time on forging creating them."
A bit dispirited, Leiu was reluctantly trying to convince himself to choose one of the available options.
"Although we do not have good chains, that doesn't mean we can't make good ones. However, the customer must provide me with the materials."
"Materials?"
"Yes, materials, it is basic knowledge that to make a good weapon, one needs good materials, and the same goes for chains."
"What are the necessary materials?"
"Just one thing, Black Iron."
New Quest 'Mining Iron' : Difficulty : E+
Requirements : Mine Black Iron from one of the mane caves close to the base of Black Mountain.
Rewards : Unknown
Do you accept the quest Mining Iron : Yes/No?
Since an opportunity like this appeared, of course, Leiu isn't going to waste it.
'Yes.'
Mining Iron (E+) Quest has been accepted
Time limit : none
The Black Mountain area was unknown to many, though there was not much information about it. Still, what Leiu knew was that the Level of Monsters there were relatively high.
"Great! Since you accepted, then we can go now!"
Hearing this, Leiu frowned and looked at the happy old man with confusion.
"We?"
"Yes, we! Who is going to mine the Black Iron? Don't tell me you'll do it? It needs experienced individuals such as myself, not a beginner like you!"
Guthne was a Lv34 NPCs whose class was a Blacksmith. Admittedly, he was higher-leveled than Leiu, but he clearly wasn't a fighter, thus making him more of a hindrance./
"Fine"
