Cutting open through the flesh of the tier 2 wizard Isol had now started to dissect him. He needed to know the differences between tier 1 wizards, and tier 2 wizards. The best evidence would probably be on his body.
As he finished getting rid of all the skin on its body he was only left with muscles in front of him. The first thing he did was cut through its chest, cutting through the chest would allow him to see through the rib cage and find the heart.
Since the first step of becoming a tier 1 wizard was to modify the heart would becoming a tier 2 wizard have anything to do with the heart again?
As he cut through the rib cage he finally saw the heart. It was almost the same as his except for the spell formula being different. Since it wasn't any changes to the heart then it might be a different place on the body.
Continuing the dissection of the body, Isol found many other organs like the lungs, kidneys, brain, etc. None of them had any changes.
It was only when he was cutting through the back that he finally found an anomaly. There were signs of carvings on the spine of the tier 2 wizard. It was not natural, clearly man-made.
It was only until fully excavating the spine from the rest of the body that was he able to make clear of the situation. The spine was carved with a magical formula and judging from the might of it, it was not a tier 1 spell.
Reading the formula Isol was able to see the name, the creator, and the ability of the spell. Every spell formula had that basic information as it was given by the world to the creator.
Tier 2 Spell, Frost Crown
Creator: Arnon Kiestov
Frost Crown, an ability created under harsh cold winter, allows the user to amplify any ice spells that are tier 2 or below by a 125% increase in power. To activate the spell one must first concentrate ice particles into one's skull. Guide the ice particles and condense them from one's skull, piercing through the head to form an ice crown. Use the crown to guide mana through the body and your spells.
A very simple but powerful ability, wizards could use any spell of any element as long as they knew the spell formula, but it would not make sense to use elemental spells that conflicted with each other. Most wizards would use elemental abilities that complemented each other.
For example, wood and fire were always a good combination. Isol was still thinking about what elements would complement his luck abilities he had a few ideas but he didn't know if what he wanted existed or was even possible.
Since the dissection of the body brought him good results Isol was planning on giving the body a good burial. He wanted to show respect for guiding him in the right direction.
Walking out of the room and carrying a body in his hand that was covered with white cloth. Isol stood on the edge of the railings of the ship. Many saw his actions and were confused, they knew he had the body but they just never brought it up.
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Obviously, they coveted it, but Isol was too strong and they still wanted his protection. As they stared in curiosity watching him throw the body off the ship with sparks igniting the white cloth.
Isol was planning on giving him a cremation through the sky and letting his ashes fall to the ground. He knew what would happen to the body if he just threw it off the ship or gave it to someone else, so the solution was just to turn him into ashes.
Watching the body engulfed in a fiery mess the entire crew was confused by his actions why take the body if he was just going to cremate it anyway?
Wouldn't it be better to sell it or use it in a trade? Confused but not questioning his decisions they simply ignored his actions.
As Isol made it back to his room he fell into a deep meditation. Meditation replaced sleep, sleep was no longer required. Meditation brought peace to his mind and brought him into a state of enlightenment, allowing him to research and think of new ideas more easily.
As he was in deep meditation the sheet of paper containing information about the Piper started to act. A melody that Isol never heard of but that sounded so familiar was played in his mind.
He didn't even question why he was hearing the music, he just thought of the familiarity and how peaceful it was.
As a lethargic feeling washed over him, he couldn't help but start getting sleepy. As if sensing his dangerous situation his skill Deus Ex Machina had finally activated. His luck was furiously burning as the golden lotus was melting.
The ability to be saved by an unlikely scenario was manifested by the sound of fighting from outside of his room. A group of apprentices randomly got into a fight that allowed Isol to snap out of the trance.
He couldn't help but sweat bullets. This was the most life-threatening situation he had been in, his life was about to end and he didn't even question it. Only through his skill was he barely able to make it out alive.
As he got out of meditation the sound that was playing through his mind stopped. Vigilantly grabbing the sheet of paper through the bag through psychic force he was now able to notice the changes on the paper.
The words had now started to glow mysteriously as it started to look more and more like a spell formula albeit a very incomplete one.
Tier 9 Spell, Soothing Lullaby
Creator: Saint Le'Cross
A soothing melody that will drag one into eternal sleep.
It was incomplete because it didn't list the method to use the spell, all spell formulas had one. However, that didn't matter because Isol was in complete shock right now.
It was a tier 9 spell, 8 ranks above his. He was only able to survive because it held a fragment of its original power that he barely made it through.
He had no idea who Saint Le'Cross was but he should be a very powerful figure. For him to create this spell he had to be of at least tier 9 strength possibly even higher.
Now Isol was questioning why the spell activated on its own and why the pirates had never noticed its anomaly. The only reasonable guess he had was that the spell noticed something peculiar about him, something it wanted from him.
It was a very bizarre explanation as spells shouldn't have their thoughts but common sense might not work for higher-tier spells.
As he was sealing the spell away he couldn't help but wonder if he was going to be able to harness some of its power. If he tried to forcefully eject mana through it then he'll get suck-dried before a fart leaks from the spell, but what if he somehow managed to get a little sound from the spell? Wouldn't that make him broken?
The effects were already tested on him and he only survived through luck. If it was used on anyone else, luck would not be on their side.
