14. Flying Pirates

14. Flying Pirates

Under the pale moonlight, the ship's figure was barely visible in the clouds. It was nearing its destination and soon the peaceful atmosphere would change.

The ship's destination was the gathering point of all forces under Divergent Extremity coupled with some other forces.

The apprentices who were patrolling on the ship were shivering in the cold, if it were normal humans they would have frozen to death. The apprentices kept themselves afloat with the usage of a spell called life force.

It was an extremely weak spell but it had the power of allowing the body to adapt to the environment using the will of the users.

There were limits to the spell, if you were in extremely harsh environments then you would die before your body can even adapt to it, and the most important one is that it is just a temporary adaptation. The moment you stop using the spell is the moment you lose everything.

As the poor apprentices kept patrolling they had not noticed that there was another ship that was stalking them.

It was shaped like a zeppelin with an extremely flat back. Figures were standing atop the zeppelin, they had bandannas on their forehead with feathers decorating it.

The leader of the pirates was a female with a scar across her left eye. Her hair was red with green feathers at the tip.

"Captain it seems like we're going to strike it big again."

"Ever since the war started, human trafficking has gotten so big."

Hearing the voices of her subordinates she smiled. They were low-life who would usually be hunted and had to play it very safe, but ever since the war had broken out they had grown more bold. The forces in Sleeping Giant had a bigger threat to take care of and they couldn't be bothered with the low lives infesting their country.

"Alright stop talking, you know what will happen if any of you mess up this job."

The red-haired captain shut them up. Although she was confident she was not a fool, just because they were in a higher position that didn't mean their prey wouldn't fight back.

She wanted this operation to be smooth and clean without killing too much of their prey. The forces under the Blood Letting country were instigating chaos by purchasing wizards. They were purchasing at very high prices and if you brought them in alive they would be worth even more.

As the zeppelin aligned itself to the left side of the ship, hooks shot out from the holes that were on the side. They were going to drag the smaller ship close so that they couldn't escape.

The apprentices patrolling the ship were shocked and hurried to sound the alarms. They just saw gigantic hooks appearing from the distance that latched onto their ship.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Creepy laughter echoed their surroundings.

"Hahaha, sound the alarm if you want but you can't escape their fate tonight."

A burly pirate with a monkey's tail smashed onto the deck of the ship. Unexpectedly the response that he got was just freight from the apprentices but no signs of alarms from the wizards that were on board.

"It seems like you were not lying Isol, there were pirates around us."

Wizards that were hiding appeared around the deck of the ship. Isol had already spotted the pirates that surrounded the ship a long time ago. He told the other wizards and were just waiting in hiding for them.

"How did you see us?"

The burly pirate was confused, they never had an issue like this before. Unless they were showing themselves most ships wouldn't even be able to detect their existence. Their zeppelin was a ghost ship that was great at concealing life force and hiding the people on it.

"You can ponder about that in the afterlife."

A red-robed wizard with long white hair and beard responded as he turned himself into a gigantic lava creature that resembled a human except for the snake-like tail that replaced the legs. He wielded a molten battle axe as he charged towards the burly pirate.

Not to be outdone the pirate's hand transformed into a monkey's claw. It clashed with the molten axe and wasn't surprisingly injured, the heat radiating from the wizard didn't phase the pirate at all.

Pirates although they looked like humans were not humans. They were more of a subgroup under humans. They were descendants of the king of pirates Armon, a legendary figure that was equivalent to a tier 10 wizard.

Their system of power came from their ancestor as their bloodline purity determined their future and strength. The purer their bloodline the stronger they could become. They were warlocks who relied on bloodline purity a very different class from wizards who studied.

The unique thing about pirates was that females had the bloodline of the divine parrot, a pet of Armon. While males had the bloodline of the thousand-hand monkey, another pet of Armon. Stories say that Armon had the power of both the monkey and the parrot, but because it was too destructive he had to split his bloodline into two.

No one knew where Armon went as he suddenly just disappeared from the world one day but everyone wanted the treasures from the pirate king. His ship The Flying Dutchman was the most valuable while he also had a harem palace both vanishing from the world.

"Hahaha is that all you got wizard?"

The burly pirate taunted the wizard as his tail sprung him away from the gigantic magma ball that was shot at his location. Feathers shot down from the sky as the red-haired captain flew in the distance with a pair of colorful red and green wings.

The feathers easily pierced through the magma that protected the lava body as the wizard desperately defended himself from the barrage of feathers.

The barrage only stopped after a gigantic ice tree blocked the attack. The tier 2 wizard on the ship had finally taken action as he noticed that the red-haired woman had similar strength.

"Everyone gets the rest of the pirates while I take care of her."

The wizards had 49 members excluding the tier 2 wizard, as they outnumbered the 43 pirates, but the pirates were also stronger.

Isol targeted the burly pirate that originally had fought the wizard, calmly walking towards the pirate with a gigantic D20 that was being rolled above his head.

The burly pirate took notice of him and the object on top of his head, he cautiously stared at Isol ready to strike. When the dice finally stopped rolling it landed on a 1. There was a 95% chance that he missed and a 5% chance that he hit, of course he would not miss with his insane luck.

The dice that landed on a 1 now had an evil grin on its face as it attached itself to the pirate that tried to dodge. It could not get rid of the dice that were attached to his body no matter what he tried but the worst part was that his vision had disappeared and a sense of extreme fear had struck him.

"Let's have a good fight Mr. Pirate."
