5 days later…
By the side of the wide and murky green river that passed through the jungle, a wooly deer calmly hydrated itself. The calm flowing sound of the river was like a instrument that collaborated with serene jungle music, cheering a tune of peace and tranquility. However, for all its serenity, there was more danger in its swirling depths than the trees behind.
With a thundering crash, a giant furry alligator tore through the veil and with a with a large roar, it chomped onto the poor deer, pulling it into the depths. However, just as it was about to dragged the prey back down, a barrage of blue balls of mana shot out, tearing through both the deer and alligator. With blood and gore everywhere, the murky green river was stained red.
“Finally it came out, i’ve been waiting here for so long, now i finally try this delicacy!” As if a cloak of invisibility was taken off, the figure of Nora appeared out of nowhere. The skill ‘stealth’ was disabled, allowing Nora to be visible again.
After disabling the mana intensive spell ‘stealth’ she gotten from becoming a rogue, Nora walked towards the corpse of the alligator. Forming a blade of mana, Nora began dissecting the beast, cutting up the soft and supple meat.
From the memories of her life in the Valen family, Nora knew that this beast meat was delicious. After sighting it by the river a few hours ago, Nora could not resist the temptation to try it. After reviving and having the sense of taste again, Nora knew that she had to try it. Eating just stale hard meat of the various creatures that she killed over the past few days had caused Nora to become fed up with the horrible tasting food.
After collecting the meat, Nora began to pierce the small cut up cubes of meat with a rod of mana. Like a kebab, she roasted it over a small fire she created using a small fire spell. Using the time she spent on cooking, Nora decided to check on her level and stats.

After spending 5 days in the west side of the island training, she had leveled up to level 23. It was a tortuous and arduous task, fighting to the death everyday. If not for her new skill of ‘Stealth’, to escape or to ambush, she would not have even lasted a day. The level of the monsters she faced were truly terrifying.

All the monsters on the west side were all above level 15 while some of the stronger ones were above level 30. Not only that, most of the creatures lived in hordes. It was only through the use of ‘soul sight’ and ‘stealth’ that she managed to hide and run away from the hordes.
The west side was the perfect way to hone her new skills and to get used to fighting with her body. With the fear of death looming around, her instincts were always up while her body was always ready for combat.
Nora had decided to enter the west side of the island and lived in the wilderness when the bell that signal the end of the wolf hunt exercise had rang. For her revenge against the overseers, she needed grow as fast as she could. Staying and living inside the compounds would be a waste of time and thus she decided camped out to train herself. The overseers would never think that a child would dare live outside the camp, it was suicidal. Even they wouldn’t dare to try.
Moreover, even if they knew that she was living outside, they wouldn’t give a shit anyway. If any regular kid had tried to live outside, they would have already been dead by now. However, Nora was not a regular kid. Using her skills and abilities, Nora had used the monsters at the west side of the island to hone her skills and body. Whenever she spotted a lone monster who she did not need to use spells to kill, she had summoned a blade of mana to fight in melee combat.
With the introduction of a new class, a new road had been opened to her. She was finally able to cover up one of her weaknesses. Although the death lord class was very strong and powerful, it had 2 main disadvantages.
Firstly, high amounts of mana is needed to be able to control large forces of undead minions. Before she died, she always had the abyss to supply her with mana. However, now that she was finally free from it’s controls, her weakness was back.
The other weakness was close range abilities, the bane of all mages. If an enemy got close, she had very little ways of fending them off. This was how she had died, the heroes had used a mass teleportation spell to enter her throne and fought her directly, far away from her legion of undeads.
These were the weakness Nora had, however, now with the introduction of a new class, everything changed. Now Nora had a way to increase her close range fighting capabilities by being a rogue. Although the other glaring weakness was still there, Nora knew that when she acquire all her Horcruxes and staff back, she would be able to solve that problem.
Soon the kebabs were cooked and Nora began to eat her first delicacy. Taking a bite of the golden brown cubes of meat on the kebabs, an explosion of flavour and textures melted into her taste buds. Though it was not as delicious as she thought it would be, due to the lack of herbs and salt, Nora was still satisfied. After eating just hard stale meat with no flavour and texture for the past few days, Nora had been craving for something good to eat. Thus causing her to take a break from her training to hunt the furry alligator down.
Soon all the sticks of meat were consumed and with a filled belly, Nora began to walk towards the direction of the hut. Now was her time to take revenge. She was now strong enough to kill the overseers. Although she wasn’t strong enough be able to just march in with guns blazing, she was strong enough to quietly kill them with ‘stealth’.
It was true that Nora could just continue to train a bit more and raise her levels before killing the overseers without any effort. However, Nora couldn’t stand wearing rags for clothes and not having a good night sleep anymore. Thus all she wanted to do now was to kill all the overseers, take their clothes and sleep on their soft beds. Nora was confident that she was strong enough to kill the overseers without getting caught.
Using ‘soul sight’ and ‘stealth’ to get past all the hordes of monsters along the way, Nora soon left the west side of the island. After leaving the danger zone, Nora stopped using her spells and decided to just ran there. There was no need for her to waste her mana. Soon, she arrived at the camp again. The gates of the compounds were closed and an eerie silence hanged in the air. Using stealth, She climbed up the wooden gates while using ‘stealth’.
By the time she managed to infiltrate the camp, the pale moon was already high in the sky. The freezing air of the night tore through the defenses of the shabby clothes Nora wore and like daggers, stabbed into her skin. Without the use of mana to fight off the cold, Nora would have already been shivering.
Slowly making her way to the wolves pen, Nora silently crept through the camp like a shadow. Although there were no overseers who were bothered enough to take watch at night, Nora couldn’t help but be safe than sorry. If by some chance, she got spotted, her element of surprise would be gone. Thus she crept towards the wolves pen to take care of them first, as they would make a large ruckus if they smell large amounts of blood in the camp.
From her memories, Nora knew exactly where everything in the compound was. If she wanted to, she could easily visualize it’s layout and draw a map. The camp was divided into 4 sections with wooden spiked walls surrounding it. In the middle was a large clearing where everything usually took place.
Near the north was where the kids stayed, the broken down wooden huts lines up the road north. Down the road south west from the centre was where the overseers lived. That area was the only area Nora had no memories about. The kids were banned from entering there and anyone who disobey were usually killed, thus none of the kids knew what it was like in there.
Lastly, down the road south east from the centre was where the wolves lived. This was where Nora was heading to. Using soul sight every so often to guide her through the dark night, Nora soon arrived at the wolves pen. Cloaked in ‘stealth’, none of the wolves realised what was going on. Although they could smell her right in front of them, the wolves couldn’t help but become confused. With their inferior intelligence, they could not figure out why they could smell a human when there was nothing in front of them.
Walking around the pen, Nora began placing silencing wards to prevent sounds from escaping. With her low level and mana, Nora could only place simple wards. However, this simple ward was enough for the task. After placing low level silencing wards around the pen, Nora quickly left the scene.
The wards were low level and would only last a few hours, thus she needed to make full use of the time she had. Although she wanted to enter the pen and kill all the wolves, the low level wards would not be able to handle it. If any of the parts of the ward was accidently knocked over while she fight the wolves, it would be game over. Thus, Nora had to just pray that the few hours was enough to kill all the overseers.
After leaving the pen, Nora followed the road back towards the centre of the camp and then ran towards the south west. Soon she arrived at the placed where the overseers lived in.
The house was long and narrow and it stretched out backwards like a giant shoe box. It was three stories high and was made of stone. The wooden framed sash windows were propped open with sticks and the brick work. With crystal lamps lining up the small rose garden that had been planted in front, Nora couldn't help but be dumbfounded. The technology had advanced by quite a bit since she dead.
Putting the thought of how long she was in the ring for behind, Nora silently crept towards the building, smiling at the thought of the easy exp she was going to farm.
