Only the perpetual darkness of the abyss greeted Kel kazan as he felt himself die. He felt nothing, saw nothing and heard nothing. All around was the empty darkness that his soul now reside in in.
So this must be the insides of the ring then? A bit roomier than i imagined, but it’ll do.
Soon the death lord felt a very large and strong soul floating around. With the fear of getting found out by the time wizard, Kel kazan hid himself. If he had shown himself to it, the time wizard would have realised that he was still alive and would seal the ring to prevent him from reviving.
Seeing that there was nothing he could do but wait for a soul weak enough to wear the ring, he waited. He continued to float there for what seemed like eternity.
Suddenly, a small orb of light passed by the hidden death lord. Using all the strength 0.78125% of his soul could muster, he tried to devour the orb of light. However, he was too weak, the moment he got near to the soul, a large repelling force pushed him away. No matter what he did, he could not get near to the soul to devour it. It was impossible for his soul which was so weak to be able devour such a big soul.
Dammit, i will have to wait till someone weaker wears the ring.
Right now Kel kazan soul was very weak and unstable. Everytime he split his soul to create a horcrux, he had to leave half of his soul inside it. The first horcrux he made was using the Tome of Etheon and left 50% of his soul inside it.
The second horcrux he made was using the Crown of Thorns and left 25% of his soul inside it.
The third horcrux he made was using the God’s Tear necklace and left 12.5% of his soul inside it.
The fourth horcrux he made was using the King’s Chalice and left 6.25% of his soul inside it.
The fifth horcrux he made was using the Five Star Coin and left 3.125% of his soul inside it.
The sixth horcrux he made was using the Armlet of the Great Guardian and left 1.5625% of his soul inside it.
Lastly, he made the last horcrux using the rusty ring, which left 0.78125% of his soul inside of it. Originally, if his main body were to die, he would revive using the horcrux with the highest percentage of his soul, which was the Tome of Etheon.
However, since all his other horcruxes were sealed and his main body was dying, he had use an extremely dangerous and insane method of reviving in an item which had less than 1 percent of his soul left inside.
It was impossible for him to create a new body using less than 1% of his soul, he would need to take over a body of another individual instead if he wanted to revive.
Thus he waited, slumbering till a weak soul wears the ring.

After an eternity, he felt it. he felt a weak soul enter his range, waking him from his eternal slumber. A small blue orb of light was floating around. Like a lost child, the soul wandered around aimlessly, unaware of the dangers.
Seeing the opportunity, his soul immediately rushed forward. Filled with madness and at the opportunity of being able to live in a living body again, his soul began to attack the weak soul. He did not know how much time has past since he was out of the ring, thus he frantically wanted to get out.
Unlike before where he was repelled away, this time he only felt a weak resistive force. Using all the strength his soul could muster, his soul tore through it’s weak resistance and started to surround it. Multiple streams of light embraced his soul and the soul’s life flashed through his mind. he was too weak to stop the memories of the weak soul from overwhelming him.
Pain, happiness, sadness, all kinds of emotion unfolded themselves before him as he was forced to watch. Intense emotions like sadness and sympathy filled him as he witness the sad life of the girl he was taking. Her emotions and feelings were being melded into him.
Instead of him devouring the weak soul, his soul had began to bond with the soul, allowing it to merge with him. Though it was easier for him to control the body if he merged with her soul instead of devouring it, it was unwise of him to do that. Her conscious would live inside of him forever if he did that, her conscious would affect every decision he make.
How can he let this happen! Never! Thus he began to try his hardest to devour the conscious first. Her harsh life rolled through his mind as he ate at her conscious bit by bit.
He saw her life through her eyes, he witness how she was the eldest daughter of the Valen family, a family of knights who were the royal guards of the king’s family. Each generation would train every day from childhood to protect the king. Through harsh training from young, they would become strong and powerful. Thus the prestige of the Valen family were high and mighty.
However, that changed when Nora Valen was born. Born without the her mana pool already being awakened, how could it not lead to her having such a harsh life. In a family which valued strength and loyalty to the crown, it was certain she would live a hard life.
The father blamed the mother for adultery as they both had blond hair while Nora was born with unusual pink hair. Due to the fact that the education on Lordran was still in the middle ages, many did not know much about genes and how they worked. Thus, problems such as the father wrongfully blaming the mother for adultery would occur.
She had to undergo harsh trainings that no child should go through so that she could forcefully awaken her mana pool. However, she still could not awaken it. Even the servants mistreated her.
Her father did not even treated her like a daughter. His eyes were always full of scorn and disdain whenever he saw her. The only one who even loved her was her mother, however, under the suspicion of adultery, she too was treated poorly.
Everyday, Nora would be bullied and had to go through harsh trainings. No friends and family she could rely on other than her mother, Nora lived a miserable life full of sadness and pain.
However, that life soon ended when she turned 10. Her father, compelled by the thought that the prestige and honour of the family would end under his rule, hired a mind mage to erased all existance of her from everyone memories. To hide his shame and failure, he had all records of her existence erased. Her mother who couldn’t handle it anymore committed suicide. After erasing her from all records, he erased Nora’s memories and sent her here to die.
At least he had some conscious to not kill her personally.
Using all the might of his soul, Kel Kazan soon managed to destroy Nora’s conscious. After the conscious was gone, there was nothing left stopping him from devouring her soul and taking control of her body.
Using his power and knowledge of souls as an undead death lord, Kel Kazan started to recover some of his strength as he used Nora’s soul as nutrients. Though he felt a bit sorry for the girl, he wasn’t that bothered about her life. He had killed millions of people before, why would killing one more bother him.
The feeling of euphoria overwhelmed Kel Kazan as he felt himself in the world of Landran again.
I have skin and flesh again! I can feel the cold wind against my soft supple skin. The way the wind breeze through my hair, the nauseating smell of this island, this is amazing. So this is what it feels like to be alive again! Oh how i have missed this feeling.
Kel kazan missed the feeling of being alive, with just the 5 senses being opened again, Kel Kazan could not stop himself from taking a minute to appreciate how it feels to be alive again. After serving as the vessel of the abyss for decades, he had forgotten how it felt to use his 5 senses.
When he was the undead death lord, he had used his mana sense to see and hear. However, the imitation of human senses was far cry from the real sensation. “Hahaha! Watch out world! I am back! Just you watch! I don’t know how much time have passed since i died, but i will soon be back to finish my job! Watch out calamity church, soon you will pay!”
Like a fish back in water, Kel Kazan took his time to appreciate nature, while all the other kids glanced at her with pity faces. It was evident that they all thought that the skinny girl who was laughing to herself in the middle of the compound had finally gone crazy.
