Cat Fight (Chapter 17)

Most people would be fairly unhappy at the prospect of being kidnapped.

Unless Stockholm syndrome comes in to ruin the above statement. However, Yowi was actually pretty fine with being captured by the 'mostly hairless giants' from the start. They didn't hurt it in the slightest, and even saved it from that huge bat. Oh, and they fed him too. Yes indeed, the way to a cat's heart is through his stomach. Wait, was the quote supposed to be the way to a man's heart instead?

In any case, the kitten was now munching on a salmon. He was very satisfied. Or at least he would be if the other cat, Tiger was not glaring and hissing at him. The long haired 'mostly hairless giant' who seemed to have been called Reyna told Tiger to get along with him, but Yowi had a feeling that Tiger didn't understand half of her words. Having lived his life without seeing another cat, Yowi assumed that Tiger was rather dim. In actuality, Tiger was a fairly normal cat (except for the overly unbefitting name). Yowi was just more intelligent than the average housecat. Oh, if only he could have intelligent company that he could talk to, like Yue!

....

..?

!!!!

The sudden realisation hit him hard.

"OWH CWAP!" Yelped Yowi.

He forgot about Yue! Distracted by the newfound luxury, he completely forgot about how worried Yue would be. Right before he went out, he told Yue that he'll be back before the sun went down! It's been what? Two hours? It's probably already evening! Tiger stared at his new roommate oddly. What type of weird cat makes sounds so... un-catlike?

Aching for freedom, the kitten hopped into the air towards the door that blocked his way to freedom.

Bang!

Yowi crashed against the door, managing to grab the lever doorknob. It was unfortunate that he was too light to actually pull the knob down by much. Dammit!  Yowi cursed. He needed something heavier to open the door! Yowi looked around the room. A table, a cabinet, a bed, a wardrobe, cat necessities and random cat toys like yarn and plush mice.

Yowi was very displeased by the terrible options he had. Then he realised he had the other cat. Perfect! It just so happened that Yowi knew the spell Temporary Control. He'd mostly used the spell on fish to aid his fishing in the past, but now he finally found another use!

The target is now controlled for 10 seconds. -200 MP.

200 MP? Yowi was shocked. It only took 5-15 MP for him to take control of fish! Yowi decided the reason didn't matter. He commanded the other cat to hop at the doorknob.

Bang!

In delight, Yowi watched as the lever knob bend all the way down. Then the Tiger slipped. The knob went back to it's original position with a harsh snap, as if berating Yowi for his attempt. The kitten realised that the other cat must be too fat for his mere paws to support.

Well then. Yowi was about to yowl in anger when he realised that he could use the ball of yarn that he previously neglected.

Hiss!

Just then, Tiger broke out of his trace, hissing. He didn't appreciate how the other cat took control of him (the system informed him of the culprit).

You have been stunned by your target for 10 seconds.

Ignoring the other cat's anger, Yowi simply cast Stiffness. He then untangled the yarn, randomly knotting them around Tiger. It didn't take long for Tiger to finally break out of the trance and struggle, but that only sped up the process of tangling the poor cat up.

Finally...

After a dozen minutes of 'hard fought battle, Tiger was wrapped up like a gift.

The target is now controlled for 10 seconds. -160 MP.

Hmm? That was a lot less. Yowi was pleasantly surprised. Could it be that he needed to use more mana the stronger the target is? It would seem so from how the mana cost kept varying.

Bang!

Once again, poor Tiger smashed into the door. This time however, he did not fall. The yarn caught on the lever knob and left the cat hanging. Which was terrible for him. He would remain stuck and mewing until Reyna returned, which would be an quite a while later. Yowi was overjoyed. No, not at the fact that the annoying cat got what he deserved. Yowi was now going to be free! He pushed opened the door, charging outside in excitement. The kitten charged down the corridors, preparing to run all the way back to the portal and back home.

But not before shutting the door first. Yowi had a habit to close the door after he leaves rooms.
