Trouble Begins (4)

“Woah, so you mean to tell me that’s what happened,” Larissa said as she sat cross-legs on the bed looking at Sarah who had the same posture. Sarah had spent the last two hours recounting the story of everything that happened leaving out a little detail because of obvious reasons. “Wait, you mean to tell me that you suddenly got the power to control lightning on that night out the blues and the Marquis,” Larissa said as her eyes burnt with anger at the later part of that statement as she remembered that particular evening and now hearing that the guy that had met her did so out of a plan to keep her away from her friend, Larissa had deep regret that she wasn’t there that evening and hearing that her friend barely escaped been raped angered her the more “When next I see that dog that can’t keep his third leg in its place, I will have a little discussion with him,” Larissa said as she bumped her fist into her open palm as she breath out hot hair making Sarah giggle a bit “you speak as though you didn’t see him today, causing a trouble or two around the school,” Sarah asked

“Huh, seen who, we haven’t heard anything from him since then, no one knows where he is at the moment and it better remain that way because if I get my hands on him he would be history, hmmph,” she said she then suddenly put a thinking face “the teachers were beginning to wonder if he was one of the unfortunate souls to get blitzed by that strange storm that happened that day,” she said as she shrugged but she missed Sarah’s pained expression the moment she mentioned that moment. Sarah’s mind immediately thought of the burial of poor Rose three days ago, her death was associated with the storm that struck that night.

“Wah, Wah” a little girl wailed at the headstone of a grave as a few people dressed in black attire stood near it and occasional sobs were heard as the people cried. The rain falling couldn’t hide the sadness that was hanging around everyone. A little girl lay on the grave as she poured out her heart refusing to be consoled “Mama, come back, Mama why” the girl cried. Sophie was being held back by an elderly man who wasn’t all that old as he looked like he was in his late forties as he was dressed in a black suit and holding up an umbrella, One could only assume him to be her father as he held her close.

Sophie cleaned her eyes as she looked around as though looking for someone amongst the twelve or so people that were around from close friends and relatives her father found this strange as he bent to meet her at eye level “Hey, who are you looking for Sophie?” he asked as he rubbed her head

“Big sister is not here yet?” she asked as her father shook his head “No she’s not, she hasn’t been seen since that night too” he responded as she began to tear up a bit “Did the wicked storm that got mummy get to her too?” she asked in a weak voice “we hope not” he said as he stood up while wiping a tear that rolled down his cheek “Come Sophie let’s head out, we would be having some guests soon” he said as he walked out with his daughter who held him tight as the people had began to leave one after the other. After a while when the last person had left the cemetery, a figure could be seen coming out from the clusters of trees in the cemetery in the distance wearing a black hoodie and black trousers as the rain fell off the clothes, the person moved closer to the grave as after standing for a while, knelt causing the hoodie to come off as a blonde hair fell out. Sarah placed her hand on the dirt and cried out squeezing her hand tightly as sparks flew out in various directions.

“Sa” a faint voice was heard

“Sar” the voice became clearer with the sounds of fingers snapping the air as well

“Sarah” Larissa’s voice was heard as Sarah's consciousness returned “Hello, earth to Sarah are you there?” Larissa said as she snapped her friend out of her thoughts “did you just space out on me, what is wrong with you” she said as she bumped her lightly on the arm;

“I’m sorry, after that incident my mind has been in a lot of places honestly, I was just thinking about how I got my shit under control,” she said as she lifted her hand causing arcs of electricity to dance in between her fingers making it seem harmless and beautiful as it lit up the slightly dark room a bit as she spoke “You know I struggled, I felt as though I would be consumed by and honestly you don’t want to know what happens when this shit consumes me”

“Well tell me that you have informed your old man at least” Larissa asked as she noticed his demeanor of Sarah dampen a bit as she heard this “Look I know how bad your guys relationship is, but you still need to give your best…” she was still talking when Sarah cut her short;

“Give my best as how, give my best to someone who won’t even save me a glance, or even look at whatever I do, as long as I am not some son of his he would never give me any attention and because of well, the obvious he would never do that. Look I would have preferred to be an orphan honestly, at least that way I would not have someone who is supposedly supposed to be my parent or whatsoever not give me attention. It is already painful enough that…” She was still ranting when she heard a massive explosion go off in the courtyard it shook the whole mansion:

BOOM

“Oh, shit not another one,” Sarah said as she facepalmed herself;

“Hey, don’t be like that, maybe I would get some cool powers like yourself you know,” Larissa said as she hopped out of bed and ran to the window to get a clear view of the courtyard only to find it in shambles and as the dust cleared an oval-shaped object could be seen in the ground with its obsidian black surface reflecting every bit of light on it. The people that were in the courtyard at that point in time had barely survived as it landed in a place where people were scanty but the impact of the landing caused them and many others to fall to the ground as most began to scamper around to look for a hiding place or two while a few brave ones began to walk closer at a ‘safe’ distance to view the strange object.

“Oh shit, babe you need to see this” Larissa whose eyes were already popping out and threatening to fall out called out to Sarah who sluggishly dragged herself out of the bed “It better be worth my time,” she said as she moved to the window.

“Oh trust me with this freaky looking space ship, it would totally be,” Larissa said as a line appeared in the vertical center of the ship releasing gas:

SHHHH

As the gas was released a pair of red eyes could be seen through the opening.
