Lucifer's pov 21

Lucifer's pov

Lucifer watched the group enter the dungeon. This group consisted mostly of thieves, they were the ones that scouted his dungeon first. The man leading them was missing a hand and appeared much more experienced than the others.

When the group arrived at their destination Lucifer sneered at them for their arrogance, They stood just before the door leading to his core, behind the door were some of his most dangerous creations.

Lucifer called Selenia then projected the image of the group of men in front of her, after seeing the group she said: "They are nothing to worry about, only the man leading them has a little bit of competence".

The group sent people to try to open the door but, they tried to open the wrong side, because of Lucifer's false hinges. After being unsuccessful at moving the door more people gathered to try, only for them to be rewarded by the stings of poisonous insects that hide in the crevices of the door, eliciting a chuckle from Lucifer. Selenia asked, "is that the reason you had me mixing poisons?", Lucifer replied, "yes, I've incorporated the poisons you created into those insects".

Selenia looked in his direction and murmured "dungeons are really dangerous if they can farm deadly poisons like this", Lucifer replied, "Heh if you think that this little trick is what makes me dangerous then you are far too nieve".

Meanwhile, the group took their antidotes and finally figured out the door opens from the other side. After a little flame throwing, they attempted to open the other side, Lucifer could feel his nonexistent lips cracking into a smile at what would come next.

The mechanism behind the door slowly moved as the men pulled the door. Once the mechanism activated there was nothing stopping the springs from pushing the door open, Mana exploded from the springs as they accelerated the door in the men pulling the door.

Lucifer laughed as the men were mangled and crushed by the doors momentum. The group now argued amongst themselves for a short time, they then sent someone to go into the portal first. Lucifer was surprised when the man that was sent, turned around and tried to kill the leader, so he asked Selenia what happened, she replied, "That was an elven druid poison that caused irrational paranoia and the cheap antidotes they used would not help. the elves use this poison in the forests to confuse armies, this poison is one of the main reasons that the elves are still alive today."

Lucifer happily replied "good work on the poison Selenia remind me to reward you later" causing Selenia to confusedly say "I'm your slave why do you need to reward me?" Lucifer chuckled and replied "You are a servant not a slave to me. If you do your job well then I will naturally reward you. My only rules are don't betray me and don't try to manipulate me, other than that I don't care what you do.Unless I'm under direct threat you don't have to do anything you don't want to. Anyway if I think that you served well enough, I planned to let you free after a few years of service when I can properly protect myself, of course, you would still be under the spell but, that is simply to make sure you don't tell anyone of what you have seen here.".Salenia just stood there in a daze as complicated emotions ran through her mind, she thought she would be a slave forever and die to some strange dungeon's cruel game as tears streaked down her beautiful face.

Lucifer left her to settle her own matters and moved his consciousness towards the group. He arrived just as they were entering the portal so he entered himself to observe them. When he came through the portal he saw them using spears to check the pressure plates, luckily Lucifer asked Selenia how adventurers usually countered traps, so he had several counter measures put into the traps themselves.

Some of the pressure plates did not activate on the first time they were stepped on, most of the pressure plates would not depress without the weight of a fully grown man on them, some even required the person to be wearing full plate armor to activate.

The group didn't survive for long, which was unsurprising to Lucifer. They did not even make it past the first hallway disappointing Lucifer a little bit, he wanted to test some of his other traps. Lucifer was rather pleased however with his steel wire trap, he thought for quite some time to come up with a way to stop people like the rogue from just using abilities to sprint past traps, like when the first intruders came in and the rogue just ran out throwing his plans into the garbage.

After several hours the men stationed outside the portal got impatient while waiting, they assumed that everyone inside was already dead. So they began to make their way outside, but not before collecting several valuable things in an attempt to appease the anger of the boss of the mercenary band.

Several days passed and no large groups of mercenaries entered the dungeon. Only small groups of 3 or 4 entered and they left quickly after taking something valuable. The first floors were relatively safe, only animals that were slightly stronger guarded this floor and they were mostly there as loot.

Noone had made it past the first-floor boss yet but Lucifer had to make the bosses of the second and third floors.
