Floor master's 22

Things have calmed down after the group of thieves died from entering the door. With the free time before new enemies arrived Lucifer decided to create floor bosses for the 2nd and 3rd floors.

He searched his memories and the distinctive part of his mind the Earthmails were kept, Lucifer wanted something that would give him some life energy, so far very few people other than the first group have died in the dungeon. The dungeons first floors are too safe by design but, that doesn't mean that Lucifer didn't want people to die there. So he decided to make the bosses more lethal to compensate for the floors safety.

Lucifer started with the third-floor boss because it was easy to decide on the base. He grabbed one of the Panthers from the third floor, then started by strengthening it with mana and keeping the Panther's lean build by only focusing on the muscles, giving it strength but not increase its size too much.

After Lucifer completed the base he began making it deadlier, first, he extended the claws length and added darkness elemental damage to them, allowing the claws to ignore small amounts of armor. Second, he added the darkness element to its fur, which lets it blend into the shadows easier. Lastly, he added a core to the beasts forehead and pumped darkness elemental mana into it enabling the use of basic darkness abilities.

When Lucifer finished he created a den for the new boss he called Kuro and let it free into the third floor, He briefly thought of naming her bunny but, decided against it because it wouldn't be funny if the people entering the dungeon wouldn't know her name.

With only the 2nd-floor dungeon boss to go Lucifer planned to become creative with this one. Firstly he used the base of a pixie then took some blood from Selenia and fused it with the small creature, done with that, he began to mold the Pixies appearance by altering the bone and muscle structure. Then he spent the rest of the time giving the little pixie abilities before naming her "Little Lucky" while laughing menacingly. With the second floor completed, he gave her instructions and gave her free reign to go around all three floors.

Meanwhile, above ground, the leader of the mercenary band was greeting the scouting party of the local Baron. The scout's leader was arguing with the Second in command of the mercenary band about payment.

Finally, the leader of the mercenary band became fed up with this person and took the money from the man. The leader chose to keep quiet instead of making a fuss showing his wisdom. Taking a smaller reward now is better than making a powerful enemy later, right now the baron is not something the band would worry about but, with such a profitable dungeon opening in his territory he is likely to end up dead or jump ranks in nobility.

While the scout leader stood there with a smug smile on his face, he watched the mercenary band pack up in record time, then before he could say anything they set alight their homes and fortifications around the encampment before leaving on horseback.

The man was so stunned that he couldn't even react, he thought of chasing them down but, chasing a band of mercenaries was a good way to get killed, even if you did work for the nobility, mercenaries deal in death and chaos, so they don't appreciate being followed, even less when they are carrying goods. If the man knew of all the loot they obtained from the dungeon he would know why they left in such a hurry, there were too many stories of rich mercenaries disappearing when nobility are close by.

After leaving the mercenaries checked that they weren't being followed and changed course, they headed for a merchant city a few territories away, where the things they picked up would be worth more.

The scout leader stood there in a daze until the main force caught up, Immediately upon finding everything burning, the commander marched over to the scout leader and demanded an explanation. After finding out how the scout treated the mercenaries he was enraged, It was obvious that they would leave and take everything with them when you short change them on the money. After finding out that the scout wanted to embezzle money from the baron, he ordered the scout leader and those under his command to be executed in the town nearby.

The commander began setting up camp much like the mercenaries did earlier but, with the ground littered with burnt log cabins and similar structures progress was significantly slower.

Lucifer observed the new group to take up residence above his dungeon, he saw that these men were more disciplined than the mercenaries earlier. Lucifer began to calculate how to deal with these new "guests" if they became unwelcome in the future.
