Ahri felt a rush of heat and dropped to the floor to avoid the inevitable dizziness that was coming.
Recently she has been experiencing these effects from the “beast god’s blessing”, normally she should be pregnant by now if two people shared the connection her and Lucifer did, however, after all the recent “activity” she was still suffering.
At first, she thought that maybe Lucifer was “shooting blanks” so to speak, but after several body changes the chances of that were nil.
The idea that she might be unable to bear children did cross her mind, but there were no incidents in history where two people connected by the beast god couldn’t have children.
Now she was sure something was fishy. With all the enhancements that Lucifer grants his body, she knew removing the ability to have children wasn’t out of the question.
This realization sent a wave of panic down her spine, wasn’t she good enough to have his children, would she have to deal with these side effects for the rest of her life?
Although she wanted to storm into his lab and demand an explanation, she knew that such actions would only serve to anger the dungeon, not only would it make her aims in sneaking into the lab obvious, Lucifer may consider it some sort of manipulation in trying to trick him into having a child, and that thought sent another shiver down her spine when she thought of the consequences of manipulating this particular dungeon.
While she was thinking about possible ways to solve this situation as her blood boiled inside her veins she heard fighting, this wasn’t something abnormal in the dungeon, but she immediately went over to investigate the welcome distraction to her plight.
She circulated mana thought her body and swiftly dashed through the underbrush, the obnoxious heat dissipating as she vigorously moved her body.
--------------------------------
Soon she found the source of the noise, a group of adventurers were battling another party. The group closest to her hiding spot was on the defensive while the other party viciously attacked them.
The defenders formed a wedge with the most heavily armored man in front and two swordsman on the wings, the tank expertly used his shield and mace to block two opposing attackers, occasionally dashing to the side to block a spell sent at one of his allies.
While the swordsman each held of an attacker each, their swords danced through the air deflecting and parrying blows from their opponents.
Ahri could see that the defenders were significantly more skilled so she found it strange that they were obviously stalling for time. Then she saw a glint in the canopy with the corner of her eye, a moment later and the glint vanished and was rewarded with a cry of pain.
One of the attackers turned his head slightly when he heard the yelp, on the floor he saw the collapsed form of their parties mage with an arrow buried in his throat.
The attackers momentary distraction cost him as the moment the mage went down the defenders went on the offensive, the tank took a large stomp forward with his heavy frame and swept his tower shield from left to right, one of the two men in front of him was the man who had turned his head and he didn’t even notice the attack, the other tried to defend with his blade but the tanks sudden power caught him off guard. Both men were sent flying into the ground several meters away.
Meanwhile, the swordsman dashed the enemy guard and gutted the attacker with a previously hidden dagger, then while the man reeled from the sudden wound he decapitated the man in one swift practiced motion.
Ahri turned her gaze to see how the other swordsman fared and the first thing she saw was his attacker halves, then she noticed that he was already standing over the body of one of the men who was knocked over by the tank while the other had an arrow lodged in his skull, she hadn’t even noticed him move outside the formation.
The tank did a quick take of the surroundings before waving his hand in the air and loudly saying, “good work Serra, if we pushed forward while the mage was still alive someone would have probably caught a fireball with his face” while gesturing towards the swordsman who only managed to kill one man.
After several moments the Tank didn’t hear a reply and quickly moved back into formation, then scanned the area for the enemies. The swordsmen quickly followed their leader in readying for combat, one of them asked “what's the matter?” quietly.

The other Swordsman replied “if Serra didn’t come out there are still enemies out there”
After several long moments without an attack the tank relaxed his guard slightly and called out, “come on out mr observer we know you're there”
Ahri hesitated for a moment before she remembered that there is nothing wrong with her being here, she was known as the Arcane Universities dungeon researcher by the local population (and a few other names that she didn’t know about).
She straightened her university robes and walked into the open, when the party saw her tails they were stunned and when she saw theirs she was stunned too.

Meanwhile, Lucifer was finishing a seperate array for a golem variation. After he made the golems that created parts he noticed they didn’t have any trouble digging deeper than the ants, so with the new array, he could mass create golems specifically designed to cut out blocks of stone for the deeper areas for the dungeon.
Lucifer suddenly noticed a little fairy floating in front of him with a smirk that made him more than a little wary.
Taking his attention away from the array he asked Lucky, “so what brings you here”
Lucky fluted around in a spiral while cheerily replying “I want to show you something”.
“I’m busy, just tell me where it is and I’ll use my dungeon sense to see it”
Lucky frowned and pouted, “if you don’t come I won't show you.”
After signing Lucifer thought that it was about time for a break anyway so he got up and followed after the hyperactive fairy.
Soon he found himself hidden in the canopy of a large tree, the previously excited fairy looked extremely disappointed when he disinterestedly watched Ahri sitting around a fire with a group of adventurers.
The expressions that Lucky expected Lucifer to make were nonexistent, instead, he was glaring at her and she was fidgeting around nervously.
She lowered her height and looked up at Lucifer with large eyes then asked cutely, “is something wrong Luci-- cough Lucifer”
Before she could move Lucifer snatched her out of the air, he held her in the direction of the party and coldly asked, “well, my surprisingly mature fairy, what do you see there”
Lucky began describing the group when Lucifer's grip slowly started tightening, in a panicked voice she quickly said, “they are flirting, Ahri has been suffering because she is in “heat” and hasn’t had a child yet, she thought that wrestling with you would help the problem, but it only made it worse as time went on.
Lucifer's expression darkened and he squeezed a little tighter speeding up her already frantic speech, “when we were talking our morning bath I suggested that she sleep with other people to get pregnant because she has her whole life with you to get your children-- cough cough, and she was lost in thought for quite a long time-- cough please loosen your grip please”
Lucifer turned Lucky to face him and relaxed his grip, Lucky breathed a sigh of relief until she saw Lucifers grin which sent chills down her spine.
Lucifer said “It seems your a lot more mature than I thought and here I was treating you like a child” Lucky only replied with a weak “teehee” before Lucifer continued, “I won’t be treating you like a child in the future, so don’t expect to get away with any pranks you pull on me, no things missing from the lab, no returning my consciousness to my body to find a kitten butt on my face.
Lucky giggled at that but was cut short by Lucifer’s glare, “oh and that reminds me you little perv, I sensed you in the lab when Ahri came by and that little illusion of you leaving didn’t fool me.
At this point Lucky's normally ever present childish grin was replaced with realisation that she had been caught, her entire face was red and she couldn’t wait to fly away once Lucifer let go of her.
Satisfied that he had got his point across he let go of the little fairy and she disappeared into the foliage almost instantly.
With the little distraction gone he finally took a good look at the group below, There was a large man in heavy armor with a horn on his head, an archer hiding the trees that Lucifer noticed with his dungeon senses, and two swordsman, one being a human while the other one was a beastmen with multiple tails.
Lucifer was surprised that Ahri managed to find someone of the same race as her, and more unlikely the same subspecies, a multi-tailed fox beastmen. He had 6 tails like Ahri originally had which designates him as a noble of that particular species, and he kept glancing at Ahri’s 9 tails with a look of amazement and a hint of lust whenever he thought she wasn’t looking.
Ahri originally only had 5 tails, but with the expert training of Merlin, she was able to grow another along with her power, since then Lucifer had injected pure life energy into her to save her life. This turned her hair and fur white and she grew 2 more tails, then every time Ahri visited him he would inject small amounts of life energy into her which resulted in 9 tails. Something which surpasses royalty and would make her a queen of her people.
---------------------------------------
Lucifer ended up using his dungeon senses to listen in on the conversation of the group, which mostly revolved around how the fox tribe had been doing and the foxman trying to convince Ahri to come back to the tribe.
But he soon became bored of that and it was about time he got back to work. He climbed down the tree and while thinking about the next steps he heard a twig stap behind him causing him to jump.
He spun around cursing his negligence and prepared for a fight, instead when he turned around he found Selenia standing there with an irritating grin spread across her face.
She had made it a game of sorts to try and get as close as possible to adventurers without being noticed and Lucifer with his dungeon sense was like the grand prize, this was the first time she managed to surprise him.
Lucifer’s expression that looked as if he had been caught doing something bad caught Selenia’s interest, she peeked around the tree to see what he was looking at and saw an interesting situation.
They both heard the largest man call out “I know you're there you can come out now”, causing Selenia and Lucifer to look at eachother with an odd expression, does calling hidden people out ever work”
However, since Selenia thought it would be interesting she stepped out and greeted the man while introducing Lucifer as green. Reluctantly Lucifer stepped out of the darkness and was immediately greeted with a half happy half shocked “Lucifer” from Ahri.
Lucifer had the urge to facepalm at the instant identity reveal but resisted the urge, he looked up and could tell the foxman went from cautious to extremely hostile after he saw at the way Ahri looked at himself.
Meanwhile, Selenia who had already replaced her helm was grinning underneath the metal exterior.
