Chapter 34

When the hydrius salamander's population increased and was old enough to go out and explore, Amy sent out another ten salamanders. Except for this time, she sent five of those salamanders to explore the surrounding sea area to see if there was anything that they could catch, grab, and find that they could take back.

But, she had kept one of the adult hydrius salamanders back because she wanted to try to see if she could figure out a way that she could see through her creature's eyes when they were out of her territory.

Amy, whose body was a spirit, decided to try to sink into the salamander. To become and morph her spiritual body into the salamander. She felt her spirit sink into the salamander and morph into the salamander.

After a dizzying minute of trying to get used to being on solid four legs and not floating like she has been for months, Amy tried to move and promptly fell on her face. She had to learn how to move again, how to swim, how to be in a solid living body again. So, she practiced.

She started off by simply moving her limbs, and once she got that down, she started trying to swim within her dungeon, a safe practice area. Amy did this over and over again until she began to be quite proficient at it. Then she practiced rapid movements, swimming really fast, avoiding predators or anything that may try to eat or harm her when she possessed the hydrius salamander. And she practiced over and over again until the original two hydrius salamanders came back into her territory.

The two hydrius salamanders dropped off what they collected in a small hole Amy created that was attached to the underwater entrance to the portal room. Then, before they could go out again, she stopped them and brought them into her sub-dimension.

In her new form, Amy looked at the two salamanders when they entered the sub-dimension. She asked them directly, was there anything interesting that you found? The two salamanders turned to look at each other, looked back at the salamander that she was possessing, and nodded. Amy then asked, can you show me where?

With a nod, the two salamanders began swimming to the portal, and Amy followed them with the hydrius salamander that she was possessing.

She followed them out of the iceberg, out of her territory and into the amware trench reef. Amy followed them cautiously above the reef, around stones and columns of coral, and to a small but hidden clearing.

In the middle of the small clearing, half-buried under the sand, was something shiny.

Amy turned to the salamanders and asked, is this what you wanted to show me?

The two of them nodded, and Amy went to take a look at the shiny thing. It turned out the shiny thing was a small wisteria purple clear coloured stone. Around the purple stone were small crystalline growths and a light purple plant growing right next to the stone. Amy knew this stone did something interesting, and she just had to bring it back to her territory.

With the two hydrius salamanders watching her back, Amy started digging in the sand around the purple stone. The stone that she unearthed was about the size of an adult human's head. It was a bit heavy when she picked it up, but she could hold it in both of her hands.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

She turned back to the other salamanders and asked, can you pick up the light purple plant and help me bring it back?

With a nod, one of the salamanders swam down beside her and dug up the small plant. As a group, they turned and headed back to her territory.

In the middle of the journey, the two original salamanders started to tense up and look around the surrounding area like they were trying to see something. Little did Amy know, something was watching them.

In a hidden crevice within the reef lay a creature looking at them like they were its prey.

As the three salamanders passed above the crevice, something quickly lashed out. It attacked the salamander that was not holding anything. But the salamander was quicker. Before the attack hit the salamander, he avoided it. He quickly struck at the attacking creature with sharp water blades, killing the creature.

Before Amy could get a good look at it, she decided to call it a day, have the last free salamander grab it and bring it back with them. She encouraged them to quickly get back to safety within her territory, and they rushed back home without encountering anything else dangerous.

Amy directed them through the underwater access tunnel and into the sub-dimension when they all got back. When the three things that they collected were dropped onto the first floor, she turned back to the two salamanders. Grateful for their help and what they have done for her, and in truth, she has missed what she has lost on Earth, she decided to name them.

Amy decided that the male salamander would be named azure, and the female would be named sky. She chose these names because she thought they fit them. Both salamanders nodded and disappeared into her territory when she told them their names. She assumed that they liked them.

After the sky and azure left, Amy absorbed the three things that she collected into her territory and pulled up the descriptions.

Dragon Eel

A species of territorial eel with a nasty temperament and will attack just about anything that it thinks it could eat.

Will Of A Crystal

A transparent stone that has been imbued with the power of crystal manipulation. If left by itself, this stone will naturally start producing crystal types within its immediate surrounding area and can start changing its environment to become crystallized.

Crystalline Seagrace

An aquatic long-leafed grass that has flowers that bloom underwater. Due to the influence of a will of a crystal, the grass will bloom flowers made of a clear crystal.

POV Pyter Synder

After a week and a half of non-stop travel, Pyter and his group were very close to reaching the amware trench reef.

He stood at the bow of the ship staring out into the horizon, hoping to see either the reef or the iceberg. Boy, did he hope to find the iceberg before any other group. It would be the proof that he needs to prove he is not insane, just a bit eccentric.

After about an hour and a half of staring into the horizon, the reef was finally spotted. Once confirmation of the reef reached Pyter, he pulled out the map that Lowri, the current reader, gave him and helped direct the ship to where the map indicated the iceberg would be.

When they reached those coordinates, and there was no iceberg, the group collectively decided that they would follow the current down for a while before they would call off this revenue of the search.

Even though Pyter did not like this, he was outnumbered, so he reluctantly agreed.

After two hours of going with the current down the reef, he finally saw what he was looking for. The iceberg and within it, the dungeon core.
