Laying there as my lungs exhaled deep in thought at the sight of the young but sorta familiar looking man in front of me. To my surprise, I already pretty much grasped the generic weird situation. I was already seeing visions of orc woman and child as clear as day before, for some reason this came as no surprise to me.
I was inside "The New Era" as the avatar I just created. I was Rosie. I've gotta be honest with you, I was happy, extremely happy. Tears were slowly falling down my face, not of sadness or confusion, but of the utter joy of being in a new world, with a new chance.
I quietly apologized to my mother in the back of my mind, thank you, from of the bottom of my heart for everything. I hope I can live a fulfilling life here for once. Before my thoughts could continue, the boy spoke up.
"You okay? Speak slowly if you can talk" the young man didn’t rush me, or ask a million question, or even explain what happened, in my sorry sight he simply asked that while gently putting a hand on my shoulder, such a kind and well raised young man.
"I'm fine, lad" I muttered in a way too manly of voice, it seems I’m not used to talking in this body yet, somehow my vocal chords almost replicated my real voice.
The man looked a little shocked or put off by it, maybe I shouldn't of called him lad, not really a girly way to address him, or even my normal way, I felt the need to almost roleplay I guess, but this was reality now.
"I'm okay now, uhh" I spoke in a much more feminine and ladylike manner
"What happend to me though?"
"You tripped down on the dirt, ma’am. 10 years ago! You were shaking and stuff, but still breathing this entire time, not giving up hope, we decided to get a cleric to help you, you’ve been sleeping here for all those years, but no signs of recovering. I never gave up though! You must be a goddess sent to us after I saw that smile, we had to heal you. I payed ever bronze I had to keep you fed"
It finally occurred to me, this man.. Was the boy I felt like I just saw yesterday after a long nap. Gruff on his face, eyes beaming with intelligence and wisdom.

"Whe--r--e are w.. we?"
"After I saw you fell, I rushed to my dad to help you, you are at our home" he spoke out confidently
"My father helped too, and I’m not trying to make you feel bad.. Just.. you are a goddess aren’t you? How could we abandon those that fall from the heavens? I want you to know that you have a worshiper, one that will protect you."
Before the boy could finish a large man opened the door with a shovel slung over his shoulder
"By the gods she's awake!" the man cheered, then dumbfoundedly looked at his shovel and hid it behind his back in what I could only presume to be embarrassment.
“Dad, there’s no need for the shovel now. You see, you stopped breathing finally.. For the entire day… I’m sure you can guess what my father and I planned on doing. I hated the thought.. But miss goddess.. 10 years is a very long time.”
For once in a very long time, the sight of a grown man hiding the shovel that was for my grave, made me let out a sincere heartfelt laugh for some reason.
"Thank you for looking after me, uhh Mr"
"Just call me Joseph, more to the point though, what in gods name happened to you?"
"I don't know.." I sorta knew, what happened to me, but not exactly how, nor do i even care.
"I'd suppose not if the only cleric around here looked like a baby doing the Fedrix Riddle!" He said with a heartfelt jaunt about him. What the hell is the Fedrix Riddle though?
"Thank you for everything, really, I hope I can repay you one day, but I'm sorta broke and just got here" Scratching my head, it finally occurred to me that.. I was talking with an NPC, full blown, questions, answers, learning, very real intelligence. I knew I might've been teleported into this world by god knows what, but I never thought all the npcs would become.. real too
"Ahh! Did you create a character here? 10 years.. Hmm that was still when new people would appear. My guess is you are a Player, but I don’t ever recall a player passing out for so long."
My mouth made a U shape at the reply this Joseph gave me, how much do NPCS know? Was he perhaps a player too? He must be with his intelligence
"Are you a player too?"
"Ahahha, no not by any stretch, been in this village my entire life, but I figured you would've know this is a Player starting area, seen plenty of these so called "Players", but to me you are all simply similar souls visting a different place, I see no difference between you and I.. well except for my lack of a who ha- "
The young man hit his father in the leg interrupting his final words. These people truly are amazing and amuse me, it’s been so long since I've had genuine conversation, longer than I’ve ever could've fathomed.
“Thank you.. From the bottom of my heart for looking after me.”
