Seraph #04762 – Jupiter’s Core

Humans were not the most mentally acute species.

This might seem like a harsh or even derogatory statement but the recorded data logs verified this judgment time and again.

While they might have learned to walk on two feet. Develop personal miniaturized computers to ‘sext’ in high definition. Land a male of their species on a jovian orbital body. Produce an interconnected network of diverse computer systems that’s internal storage consisted mostly of pornographic material. And even sent unmanned probes into deep space containing basic arithmetic, subpar linguistics and music of questionable worth.

They couldn’t even agree on basic units of measurement between the major developed groups.

So the fact remained that in every way in which it counted within the Elevated universe, humans were intelligent deficient.

Why is this factoid important one may wonder?

In the races infancy, when humans first thought a loin cloth was the pinnacle of fashionable attire and that congregating in close knit familial tribes was a good idea. They managed to, at least in small part, put aside individual differences and form loose settlements.

Around said settlements they would make piles of stones in a linear fashion, all to de-mark the boundary between that of safety and the more dangerous part of their burgeoning knowledge of the world. The outside.

Unfortunately for the race known as humans, this technological development was the pinnacle of engineering in regards to their safety in the greater universe and that every other of their developments since has been a side-grade at best.

The problem stemmed from the not so minor issue that that up until the present date, this cornerstone of technological development had been consistently devalued. Eroded, piece by piece until the barriers of mankind no longer consisted of solid consistent material, but flimsy bits of iron and timber, often no thicker than a sheet of paper. There was the odd exception that artefacts of civilizations past having been preserved due to cultural significance, but still the basic principle was never followed through to it's zenith of surrounding you and those individuals you consider worth protecting with an impermeable barrier of solid state matter.

As if to drive home this absent minded racial blunder, a jovian sized device in Jupiter’s center started to rotate it's outer shell which consisted of a complex intermingling of subspace particles, mana and unimaginably intricate diamond like lattice. Whilst the machines governing consciousness began to wonder if the humans of the sol system’s third planet would not follow the path of the previous elevant’s on their world’s surface, the current inhabitants colloquially referred to by the pejorative of ‘The Dinosaurs’.

A cosmically substantial pulse of mana that originated from inside Jupiter core, lensed toward a singular focal point, the world the ones known as ‘humans’ labeled ‘The Earth’. The results of the pulse were immediate. Warping the very fabric of space in and around the world as it coalesced along predesignated parameters.

To even the least astute observer, the planet was engulfed in a brilliant bright blue corona that obscured it's surface for several hours. Meanwhile safety measures were instantly enacted and all its sentient inhabitants were transported to multiple miniature subspace pockets occupying the same temporal foot print as their plate of origin. At the same time, the planet’s physical topographical zones including developed metro, urban, sub-urban areas and wilder surrounds were being reorganized, consolidated and in some cases entirely reformatted.

To one less experienced in such matters, this might seem like an inordinate amount of expended energy and effort for a species with a genetic code that has a 98.9% match with tree dwelling primates, and coincidentally currently has an obsessive relationship with liquid crystal display, pocket sized telephonic devices.

Yet like it or not, the governing consciousness of the extraterrestrial machine in Jupiter’s core designated as Seraph #04762, had a prime directive.

The conditions for fulfilling prime directive inscribed in its coding by the progenitors themselves were as follows:

'Begin the activation of the elevation engine when one of the solar systems planets contained 10,000,000,000 forms of individual sentient life, in, above, on or around its surface. Once initiated oversight of systemic access is required, whilst simultaneously recording the elevated species subsequent success or failure of subsistence or further phasic shifts.’

Now that the elevation engine was functioning in its first phase and channeling a tiny fraction of the withheld mana from the sol system, Seraph #04762 as always, followed the rules. After having altered the planetoid’s orbital trajectory to bring it in line with the system instituted cycle, rather than its previously erratic one. It subsequently initiated the one continent rule, maneuvering the tectonic plates in such a fashion as had not been seen since the previous elevation attempt.

That enacted, it then reestablished the previously existing biomes which were regenerated based on the percentage they had previously taken up on earth’s surface. They were subsequently gradient’ed, from desert to savanna, tropics to volcanic, fjord to tundra. Graduating the biomes so that they could coexist and not collapse over the span of a minimum of a thousand cycles whilst maintaining varying degrees of mana saturation was no simplistic task. However the sheer processing power Seraph #04762 had available at it's synthesized neuron tip's made the task far easier than that of a human thought.

Next came the consolidating and equidistant distribution of human population centers on the basis of proximity and existing boundaries. Here is where the humans fundamental misapplication of barriers began to come to the fore.

As with all applications of rules over a number greater than one, it was a matter of the law of averages.

Take for example, the amount of walls in or around a preexisting populace, add together the height, length and thickness of a fore mentioned walls and divide it by the total number of walls.

Now whilst the number of walls, fences, partitions and barriers in a city, suburb, town or village is staggering, they are for the most part ineffectual means of protection and more a psychological deterrent.

So when applying the rule of averages when generating a population centers defensive barrier, the results were a little less than optimal, and that if it was being generous. Seraph #04762 idly noted that whilst ‘The dinosaurs’ had been far more primitive when it came to construction, even the herbivore subspecies for the most part had sufficient personal defenses to not require barriers. Where in the case of the humans, their skin could not even stop a mana generated ants mandibles.

Thus, all the newly generated settlements were surrounded by nothing more than a 1.6 meter high wall with a thickness of 100 millimeters. So whilst it was mildly impressive feat of engineering from a human perspective, it was nowhere near enough to stop let alone slow down a pack of level 10 mana generated beasts for any meaningful period of time.

The humans could certainly upgrade the newly constructed settlements defenses, but that would only put them at a disadvantage when it came to personal defensive allocations.

Considering that the mana beasts were about to spawn on the freshly changed face of planet earth, this did seem like a glaring tactical oversight that would have been comical to the artificial intelligence if it didn’t interfere with its prime directive.

So Seraph #04762 the ever diligent ‘sol’ system overseer, continued consolidating and generating basic shelters and facilities in accordance with Progenitor Elevation Code #9476 over the course of an hour on the newly amalgamated super continent.

Once finished, it was time to see what was left of the population of earth after they had undergone tutorial in their individual subspace pockets.

Though the measures enacted by the Progenitors directive may seem brutal and uncaring to a more emotionally minded individual. The pre-elevation education and 'practical' testing had been proven, through millennia of trial and error, to remove less effective potential elevants and further the species elevation chances as a whole.
