4.6 Brynna

Brynna

"That was amazing." The young man who approached Brynna was infuriatingly handsome in the way that many music industry people believe they are but few actually live up to. The headphones hooked ostentatiously around his neck marked him as a DJ. The collar, shimmering blue-tinted dark hair and wickedly-mascara'd eyes made him Bernd Feifer, rising star of the biggest of Rindburg's surviving radio stations.

Nina set aside her jealousy over his looks and smiled. "Thank you for coming, sweetie. It was so hard to get people to show up, I'm really grateful that you made the time."

"It was worth it," he purred, voice cutting through the PA noise and the hubbub of fans and new admirers clustered around Thessaly despite its softness. "One day a lot of people are going to claim to have been here."

Even flushed with the triumph of the evening, Brynna raised an eyebrow. "You think so?"

"Destined for greatness, your girl there." He said it without hesitation or flinching, wide mouth curved up in a slight smile that must have laid waste to the hearts of every girl and many of the boys in his high school. "Perhaps you'd like to have her come on my show, for a chat?"

Brynna eyed the DJ, thinking about how Thessaly could be around handsome boys. But the opportunity was too good to pass up. She needed concrete things she could tell Jesse, her Castelloro contact, and premium airtime on 106.4 Rindburg was exactly that. "Sweetie, I'd love that. Let me get you a copy of the song, and we'll set a date."
