He moved towards the edge of the hill lethargically . He decided to push many of his concerns aside for a moment. The fact that he was in a child's body was weird, but he needed something, something good to help put his mind at ease. Only then could he try to think about his situation.
He crouched, as he did his weight transfered to his legs. The ground cracked desperately enduring the force exerted by his legs. A red aura erupted from his body. It wasn't as intense as earlier, but it was still fierce. He stood at the edge of the hill, his eyes on the village below.
With a single a leap Yama took to the skies. He felt the night breeze gently embrace his body. From a bird's eye view he looked down on the village below him. Fittingly considering it was infested by mere humans.
His body descended faster than a shooting star. His mana acted as a blanket shielding him from the force generated by his own fall. He had a smile on his face as he fell on the unsuspecting beings below.
His body made contact with the ground followed by a humongous blast mana. The ground caved in and everything around him was obliterated.
The ground rumbled, the wooden houses of the village crumbled to dust, and numerous cries followed. Bodies turned to ash before they even knew what happened.
A hole big enough to cover half of the village had formed. It was so deep that you could barely see the bottom, but it was visible. At the center of the hole a red light was prominent.
He clenched his fist, "this amount of mana is so small, how can anyone command respect with such little power. I couldn't even destroy a village this small? I mean its good that I didn't obliterate it completely but still.."
He prepared himself to leap out of the hole.
"Stop right there!" an old man shouted.
He stood outside the hole pointing his staff at the Yama, he could barely see him. His staff had a circle shape at its tip. He wore a blue robe with yellow stars scattered allover it. His grey beard was thin but tall enough to reach his chest.
His wrinkled face had beautiful brown eyes that scanned Yama from head to toe. The old man was Michael, a very popular figure in the village.
"Who are you?" he asked cautiously.
He couldn't believe a nine year old boy was behind such destruction. It was unimaginable.
"Who am I?" he paused, seemingly contemplating the question "a mere human doesn't get to ask me such questions" his mana grew and his body became brighter the light as beautiful as that of a star.
"No it can't be!" the old man felt something. The mana he felt exuding from Yama was corrupted. Corrupted mana could only be accessed by Witches and Demons.
This was was different though. In all the battles he had fought his entire life, he'd never once felt something so cold, so evil. It was suffocating.
He was clearly looking at someone even above your average Witch and Demon. His suspicions were all but confirmed this wasn't a human. It was a superior Demon.
He staggered back almost instinctively his legs moved at their own volition. They were telling him run. To escape. By then though, it was far too late.
Michael couldn't register what happened next. His head was firmly on the King's palm. His neck released an ocean of blood. His body fell into the hole, before being consumed by its darkness.
Yama firmly gripped the head "that speed, why am I so slow?" he questioned himself in annoyance.
The scene infront of him was horrific to say the least. The houses had collapsed on top of numerous individuals. Blood ran along the ground. People screamed and cried in fear. Many corpses littered Yama's path.
Yama grabbed the head, his mouth opened. He lifted Michael's head above his face and tilted slightly to welcome the dripping liquid.
Like drinking water on a scorching desert. His throat felt unbelievable relief, he squeezed the head and drained it of all its blood. Like an ocean meeting sand, the juices from Michael's bleeding head travelled down his dry throat.
The blood was dripping from his lips, he could barely control himself as he drank untill the head was dry.
His mana exploded from his body. His wounds slowly vanished and his muscles tensed up, feeling a surge of unknown strength. From head to toe he felt like he had been reborn.
"Delicious!!" He laughed to himself maniacally. The King of demons was beside himself with joy.
"How long has it been since I've tasted such delicacy?" he questioned himself.
"Humans are insignificant beings, but their blood is second to none"
Yama wiped the blood that dripped from his lips, before he ventured foward. As he did, his feet crushed numerous corpses without a care in the world.
"You monster!! what did you do to the chef!" A magician called out.
Yama was too occupied in his thoughts to realize he had been surrounded. 5 magicians stood ready to attack him.
"The chief?" he asked, "Do you mean this thing?" Yama held up Michael's head.
He threw it up like a soccer ball before he crushed. The crunching sound as he broke the skull to pieces brought him uncontested joy. He licked his fingers for the tiny droplets of blood that remained after his ruthless act. He simply couldn't get enough of it.
Rudy the magician who called out to him was visibly enraged. "How could you? How could you do something like that. You monster, you'll pay for that!"
Rudy launched himself forward.
"No Rudy wait!" A magician by the name Rachel called out.
Rudy could not be stopped, his boots stomped forward with authority, his yellow mana leaked out of his body. From his red jacket and pants to his black boots, he was fully cloaked with his mana. His movement was a blur to the untrained eye, to Yama though.
It was nothing special.
Yama lifted his hand and swiped his right index finger. That act alone produced a razor sharp wind of mana that ripped through Rudy's throat.
Rudy's body stumbled and fell. Lifeless.
Blood poured to the ground from his headless body.
"You monster!" Another magician took to the skies in rage. He leaped high and descended on the king like an asteroid.
He had a muscular build and he was bald. He wore a black vest which was shredded by black fur that erupted from his body.
His upperbody took the form of a gorilla type Mana Beast. His face remained human though, so it was more of a partial transformation.
He clenched his hands bringing them down like a thundering hammer.
The force behind the attack rocked the surface threatening to consume Yama under its overwhelming weight.
Cracks formed were Yama stood, but his form stood there, solid and unmoved.
His right palm was raised to meet the magician's hands and that proved to be sufficient. Yama held up the magician despite his increased body mass and strength.
"Is that really all you can do?" he was surprised, he expected more.
His mana started to glow from the center of his palm "I guess other than that human, the rest of you are really weak" the light erupted from his hand and it consumed the unfortunate magician.
What remained after the light disappeared, was a pile of ashes. The shear force from the raw mana was enough to incinerate the poor soul.
The other magicians looked on, their minds caught between fleeing and fighting. They all knew however escape was impossible.
Yama could've easily devoured Rudy and his friend, but his blood was raging after tasting Michael's blood. He had to test his newfound power first. After all the village had plenty of meat still running around.
"That kid, how can he possess so much raw mana, no doubt about it his got to be a superior Demon"
Jay a magician with green hair wearing a blue robe stated. His eyes in disbelief.
Brianne a magician with red hair stood, next to Jay. Her dress blew innocently in the breeze. Her black hair ran down her spine. She held a red staff that had a flame shaped symbol at its tip. She looked at Jay and then nodded, almost as if she was planning something.
Jay mashed his hands together before smashing the ground with his palms. A blue circle with inscriptions appeard, followed by the glowing light of mana.
From the circle two Mana Beasts appeared. They were both several times larger than any human. They were identical in looks. Their fur was black, their claws dug deep into the surface. Their white teeth glinted under the moonlight.
The two beasts rushed towards Yama at insane speeds. Their movement shook the surface with every step.
Brianne followed Jay's lead. The tip of her staff glowed with blue mana. The mana concentrated at the tip before firing a scorching fireball. The flame crackled as it targeted Yama and closed in from his left flank.

As a mage type magician, Brianne had access to a single element from birth and for her it was fire. Like all mages, she could manipulate her birth element at will.
Yama smirked upon seeing their efforts.
"How adorable"
He snapped his fingers and from them a breeze conjured of raw mana engulfed the fireball extinguishing its flames.
Yama then turned his attention to the beasts.
He crouched before inhaling and closing his eyes. His mana radiated from his left fist as he felt a tingling sensation suggesting the build up was complete. His eyes flashed open and he launched a swift jab.
The force generated as a result annihilated everything in its path. His man became a predator that devoured everything. His mana collided with both incoming beasts and reduced them to a pile of bloody meat.
The beast's bodies blew up instantly and their insides were visible for all to see. Intensifying the smell of despair that inhibited the village.
Yama's left arm twisted, then snapped immediately after he launched the assault. He looked unbothred even with the forceful cracking and torsion of his arm.
"I guess its to be expected, a human's body can only handle so much. It lasted longer than i thought. I should finish this quick and figure out what my next move will be" the thought ran on his mind while he examined his arm.
Jay who had summoned the mana beasts was on his knees. His blood poured out of his nose and mouth. He clenched his throat unable to stop the bleeding. He was choking in his own blood. This was the result of having the connection with his beasts forcefully severed.
He lifted his head after sensing someone standing infront of him. He saw Yama's icy glare looking down on him. Almost In submission he dropped his head.
"Rejoice, you were able to injure me even if it's from my own mana you should be proud"
Yama dug his fingers into Jay's eyes and face before forcefully tearing apart his skin.
Even with Jay's cries Yama continued with the most playful grin on his face.
Jay landed on his back blinded and bleeding uncontrollably. Yama raised his foot and smashed him repeatedly. The bones that remained shattered and Jay's face was flattened. His cries died down. Death came for him at last.
Brianne fell to her knees. The expression she made indescribable. Yama turned his attention to her. He sauntered forward with the most satisfied look on his face.
He watched as Brianne pointed her staff.
Her arms were shaking and her palms were sweaty, she could barely aim her staff at Yama. Her heart rate was at its peak adding to her stress. Her face grimaced as she screamed.
"Die! you monster!!" Mana illuminated her face, before she shot crackling fireballs from the tip of her staff.
One by one the orbs of fire launched at Yama. There were 3 of them and they threatened to consume him In their fiery embrace.
Yama lifted his hand, mana shrouded his entire hand. He then moved his hand accordingly. He swatted two of the fireballs like flies with the back of his palm. This deflected them back to the village adding to the devastation.
His hand changed positions after that. He pointed at the searing ball of fire with his index finger. The blaze made contact with it and its movement came to a sudden halt.
The king could feel a tingling sensation from the tip of his finger. He poured his own mana into the flames before lifting up the ball with his finger. He had it completely under his spell.
He lifted his finger above his head, his eyes looked directly at Brianne.
Without uttering anything, he flicked his finger. As a result the orb turned on its own caster and devoured Brianne instantly. She cried out as her skin was melted piece by piece.
The sound of her cries were a gentle melody Yama. Within seconds her body was reduced to nothing.
Yama's eyes landed on the sole survivor Rachel. She wore a white skirt and a nice comfortable shirt. Her skin was on the pale side. Rachel couldn't believe what she had just witnessed.
"Why are you doing this?" she barely squeezed the words out of her mouth.
Yama paused, genuinely thinking about her question "because it's fun."
Rachel couldn't believe his response, all this. All the people who died. All of them perished, just for fun?
"Since you guys have disappointed me, I don't feel like getting my hands dirty again. Why don't you kill yourself. I bet something like that would actually be interesting"
Rachel gasped as she heard Yama's words. Her mind went blank. Even with the suggestion she suddenly didn't know what to do.
"Can't decide? I guess I'll have to kill you then. How boring."
Yama's mana swirled around his finger. He swiped it producing yet another razor sharp breeze of mana whose intention was to decapitate Rachel efficiently.
Rachel closed her eyes. She gave up.
That's when a dark shadow appeared infront of her. It wrapped around her figure forming a small dome. The Mana made contact with it before exploding.
The dust cleared, no harm had been done to the dome.
Footsteps followed, forcing even Yama to pay attention.
Her movement was methodical and controlled, even as she stood infront of the King of Demons she was completely unfazed. Her red cloak billowed In the breeze, her blue eyes landed on the King. A single earing dangled on her ear.
"Its been a while, Yama" she stood infront of the dome as she spoke.
Yama's eyes widened upon seeing her, a small influx of memories flooded his brain. Visions of of Individuals starring down to face him came and went, and suddenly he remembered who he was looking at.
"Is that you Lucy?"
"I'm glad you recognize me, i'm honored that his majesty even has space for an insignificant creature like me in his brain."
"No, the memory just came to me a moment ago. Answer me, what happened to me Lucy?"
"You really lost all your memories? Can't say I'm surprised after the ritual. The fact that it worked at all is amazing"
"Ritual?" Yama questioned.
"Yes, ritual. You were brought back for a specific purpose you see? but telling you that purpose wouldn't be any fun"
"Fun? Don't mess with me Lucy! If you won't talk, I'll make you talk!"
"I can't tell you about the ritual, but I can tell you something more interesting"
"Something interesting?"
"Yes, do you remember Rina by any chance?"
Yama's demenour changed completely. The name alone jolted memories into his mind. Memories of a girl, someone seemingly important to him.
Yama's mana went wild.
"Keep her out of your mouth!" the ground trembled as his mana intensified. His death glare was directed at Lucy's soul.
"There they are! those are the eyes i was looking for. You want to know what she did before I tore her to pieces?"
Lucy tilted her head before her face revealed a smile.
"She screamed for daddy while I slowly tore her limb by limb. It was entertaining."
Yama lost himself, in an instant his fist crashed into Lucy. It didn't make contact though. Shadows came to Lucy's rescue forming a buffer between the two.
The wind raged in excitement as the contact shook the entire surrounding area to its core.
"I like that look in your eyes, It's menacing" Lucy said, clearly mocking Yama.
"Unfortunately for you, at your current state you can't lay a finger on me."
Lucy's eyes studied Yama. From his chest Lucy could see Yama's soul, it flickered on and off like a candle. With just that, her suspicions were confirmed.
Lucy's shadows wrapped around Yama's body, before forcefully pinning him to the ground.
The ground cracked as it embraced the King's knees. His majesty was forced to kneel.
The shadows had wrapped every part of his body barring his head.
"You'll regret telling me that Lucy! I swear I'll kill you!" his voice sent tremors to the ears unfortunate enough to hear his voice.
"Goodluck with that" Lucy smiled, before the shadows took a different form. They became a blinding flash of light that consumed the Yama.
He once again, felt his soul being ravaged to pieces, his cries echoed the surrounding area.
They soon began to die down and so did the light.
What remained was an unconscious boy, Yama's presence had vanished.
"I'm getting too old for this" Lucy said in a low voice, sweat began to accumulate on her forehead.
She took Trey's unconscious body before snapping her fingers. The dome around Rachel became undone.
Rachel was no longer conscious. The shear overwhelming pressure from everything, had devoured her consciousness.
Lucy's body vanished, leaving all the devastation behind her.
The village had survived the Demon King's wrath.
Trey's eyes began to stir after what felt like centuries. His eyes were met by an unknown figure looking down at him. His eyes shot open even wider, he tried to move but couldn't, the blankets of his bed tied him down. His eyes shifted from the stranger and darted all over the room.
The room was mostly empty and quite bland. It's walls were drenched in messy black paint and a chair rocketed back and forth by itself at the far end of the room.
The surface was made of solid wood and a small window was visible on the other side of the room. Even though the window was open, very little light seemed to pierce through its opening.
"Where am I?" Trey asked frantically, his eyes continued to dart around trying to analyze the unfamiliar environment.
"Relax" Lucy said, her voice calm and collected. She started moving towards the window, she was now wearing a black dress that encompassed most of her figure down to her ankles. Her hair was also smoother and it ran down her spine elegantly.
"You should calm down, you're still not fully healed"
Trey looked down at his body, he had faint burn marks, marks that he did not rember having previously. He tried to move his limbs again but he couldn't.
"What's up with this bed? Are you some sort of witch? Who are you old lady? Are you going to kill me?"
A lot of scenarios played in his head, in all of them he saw himself being used to make some kind of weird potion. Was he going to die?
"You should calm down, you'll get a heart attack if you keep this up" Lucy stood infront of the window and only glanced at Trey while looking in the distance, "my name is Lucy and I'm the one who saved your life. Do u really not rember anything?"
Trey completely gave up his freedom to move at that point, instead he chose to focus on what Lucy was saying.
"You saved me? From what?"
"Do you truly not remember what happened? do u not remember the devastation you caused a few days ago?"
"Devastation what are you...?" Trey struggled to wrap his mind around what Lucy was saying, but his gut feeling was telling him something did happen, but what?
"Well, I don't know the full details myself. What I do know is someone broke that seal you have and unleashed the Demon King Yama. Why did you break the seal?" Lucy still chose not to look at Trey as she asked.
"Seal..?" That's when Trey's mind came to life. A memory from a few days ago, the memory of him asking the strange woman to save him came rushing into his brain.
"I didn't break it, this strange woman came to rescue me. She asked if I wanted to be free, I said yes. I don't know anything about demons. Are you telling me, I have a demon inside me?"
"Woman...." Lucy trailed off for a second, " Did her uniform have the mark of a wolf by any chance?" Lucy asked, finally facing Trey's direction.
"How did you know?" Trey asked, visibly confused.
Lucy sighed. "I wonder what she's up to.." she muttered to herself, she took steady steps towards Trey, "going back to your earlier question, yes you do have a demon inside you. It's not just any demon, its the King of all Demons" Lucy came to a stop next to him.
"King of Demons? Are you telling me that's why I have this mark? That's insane" he couldn't come to terms with what he was hearing.
"I'm surprised Zoey didn't tell you, I figured she would've at least told you why she trained you so hard."
That's when it clicked for Trey, he suddenly remembered he had a mother. He'd been so overwhelmed by everything, he forgot.
"Zoey! Where is she?" His eyes darted to the door, he expected Zoey to waltz In at any moment.
"She's dead" Lucy didn't mix her words.
Trey's body shook to the bone when he heard those words. His eyes landed on Lucy's blank expression.
"Dead? Are you telling me my mother's dead?" his hands trembled as all sorts of emotions came over him. Was it shock? Relief? He couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"Yes, based on how damaged Yama's soul was. She used a forbidden technique to try and seal him back. She's the only one in the village even strong enough to attempt such a thing. I don't feel her presence at all, she's definitely dead."
Tears streamed down Trey's face, he didn't know what for but they just kept flowing.
Lucy snapped her fingers. The blankets around Trey loosened.
This allowed Trey to wipe his tears as best he could. Even snot came out, he was a mess.
"Now's not the time to be crying kid"
Trey sniffed back his snot and finished wiping his eyes. He looked at Lucy still teary eyed.
"Do u not rember what happened back at the village?" Lucy's voice was cold and distant.
Trey shook his head.
"From what I could gather I'd say about fifty percent of the village perished"
Trey's eyes widened "fifty? no ways." Faint memories of screams and blood came and went in his mind. Suddenly the thought, didn't seem impossible.
"That's what happens when you let Yama run wild." Lucy said, her face hard to read.
"It's my fault!" Trey's hands vibrated on top of his sheets. "If I didn't let that woman unleash the Demon, none of this would've happened"
"You wouldn't have known" Lucy tried to reassure him.
"You're wrong, but I did know. I knew it from the moment I felt that burst of energy. I knew it was too great for me to control but even then, I allowed it to consume me. I was so angry I allowed it to devour me without a second thought. I didn't even think about what would happen after that. "
Trey smashed his forehead, with his right fist. "I'm an idiot, a selfish idiot."
"Do you want to redeem yourself?" Lucy asked.
Trey tilted his head to face her "redeem myself?"
"Yes, I can help you ensure your power never goes wild again. For that to happen, you'll have to become a magician."
