Chapter 13: A FLAWLESS CITY

The four were rapidly approaching the surface of Krey at intense speed. Kyros's body seemed to descend much rapidly than expected, something was wrong.

"I don't feel so good? I took to much damage from our fight and have exhausted too much of my mana forgive me.."

Kyros's eyes closes and its body wobbled as it struggled to find its balance.

"Everybody we've got trouble Kyros just fell asleep hold on dear lfe" Ten yelled, as he gripped one of Kyros's spikes that protruded from its body.

"What!" Jerry did the same as he copied Ten.

"What are they doing?" Jerry looked on disbelief.

Even with all the chaos that unfolded Trey was blissfully sleeping unconcerned by it all. Seemingly as a strategy to restore his mana quicker.

Akira just stood there clutching her left arm. Her arm had gone completely purple and based on her body language and eyes she had passed out.

"Akira!, Trey!"

Just as Ten shouted Akira's body fell off Kyros's back and she plummeted to the ground below.

"Akira!"

Trey chased after her in a mad dash. Just before he made an insane jump. Jerry grabbed by his left arm and pulled him back.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Jerry shouted in his ear.

"Akira's going to die! Let go of me!" Ten tried his best to get out of Jerry's grip.

That's when Kyros swerved the opposite direction and his body tilted west.

Jerry and Ten lost their footing and their bodies tilted off Kyros's body as they slipped to the ground below.

Trey was the only one hanging on, it was by shear luck as well. His cloaked had been snagged by one of Kyros's spikes so he was literally hanging by a thread.

The wind that brushed past his face forced him to open his eyes after a few seconds.

"What the?" He said, in confusion as his eyes fluttered open.

By that point they were seconds away from the ground.

Trey pulled himself up in a panic, he freed his cloak and watched as Kyros got closer and closer to the ground..

"I'm not going to die here!" He said to himself, before he made a mad dash foward.

He used Kyros's head as a stepping stool before he leaped to the sky.

His cloak billowed In the breeze, Trey tightened the grip on his blade before he shouted.

"Death bed!"

He'd perform a ferocious swing with his blade. This brought forth shadows that settled on the ground.

Trey and Kyros crashed on top of them and the surface shook as a result.

Luckily for them the shadows cushioned their fall.

Trey's head still rang like a church bell and he found himself disoriented for a few minutes. When he finally regained his senses he found that Kyros had turned into mana and disappeared.

He wasn't surprised though, this was natural among summoned beasts. If they or their master ran out of mana they turned back to mana to recover their strength, so that they could be summoned once again at a later stage.

Trey was stranded in a strange city, to make matters worse. He had given the pathfinder to Jerry, so he had no idea where to begin his search for the blade. The worst case scenario had happened.

His stomach grumbled.

"I'll begin my search after a quick bite. Surely a minute or two couldn't hurt" he told himself, as he wondered the streets of Krey.

Krey had tall buildings that climbed up for meters on end. They were made of shining crystals. The city was bright with crystals of all colors. Even the road itself was made of thousands of shining germs that ran along the ground.

Trey had never seen anything like it. It was far cry from the plain looking Suveny.

Everyone wore the same white robes and they wore glasses. It didn't take long for Trey to realize why. The crystals shone so brightly in some places that it was hard to see.

As he stumbled through the city he saw something Interesting.

In the hallways between each of the crystal buildings in Krey, there were huge bins with all kinds of trash.

Next to the giant bins was a huge pipe that protruded from underground. Trey saw as multiple bypassing individuals threw their trash inside the giant pole.

"Those pieces of trash should be greatful, they're even getting food in the first place"

One of the individuals passing the trash can uttered, before he dropped a dried piece of bread through the pipe.

What interested Trey more though was a pair of glasses that were thrown away. By the looks of things they were going to be dumped into the pipe sooner or later.

You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

He approached the bin and grabbed them. He didn't like the idea of wearing something from a trash bin but he had no choice.

At least the glasses were black so they flowed well with his attire.

"Why are you picking up things from the trash?"

When Trey turned around he found an old man wearing a white robe like everyone he'd seen inside the city.

The old man was really wrinkly even by old man standards. He had a black bag with him, Trey could only guess that it contained his trash.

"I was just looking for something I accidentally threw away." He'd lie straight to the old man's face.

"I see you're not wearing your robe, you must be one of those surface dwellers who are rebelling against the priestess. We can't have that now can we?" The old man dropped his bag and from his cloak he escaped with a lengthy katana.

"All those who rebel against our great priestess must be eradicated. Our city is flawless, it doesn't need trash like you"

The old man launched himself foward, for an old man he was surprisingly quick.

As he brought down his blade in a descending slash.

Trey met him with his own blade and he managed to block with ease.

"What the hell are you on about you old man?" He'd ask visibly annoyed.

The old man said nothing in response. Instead he leaped back creating distance between him and Trey before he charged again. This time he thrusted his blade numerous times looking to pierce Trey's stomach.

Trey stepped back while swerving his body left then right to narrowly avoid the blade.

"I was the champion of the Golden Blade tournament 10 years ago you know? In a sword fight I'd never lose against little piece of trash like you" The old man had a smug look face on his face as he bragged.

The mana around the old man was light blue and as it glowed brighter, his attacks got more and more ferocious. Due to their speed it looked like a thousand spears were approaching Trey from all angles, it was the old man's signature technique.

[Flawless Piecing Technique]

Trey's own dark mana exploded from his body, he allowed the old man's sword to pierce him as he planned.

The old man's momentary smile turned to a frown as shadows escaped from Trey's body.

They were wrapped around the blade making it impossible for the old man to retrieve it back. The shadows also acted as a second layer of skin that allowed Trey to tank the blade.

"I've head enough of this!"

Trey's own sword was wrapped in shadows, he'd use the back of his blade to smash the old man's ribs and send him crashing to a crystal building wall next to them.

The crystal was surprisingly sturdy and it didn't even crack upon having the old man collide against it.

The old men had blood drip down his lips as he looked on at Trey who towered his figure. He saw Trey's blank expression and cold gaze.

"You rebels won't win, the Lancers who serve the priestess will prevail."

Trey just said, "sure thing old man" he smashed his sword on his head and knocked him out.

He stripped the old man naked and he took his prized robe and exited the hallway they were in.

Now he could blend with the people without standing out.

His stomach still persisted despite, his desperate attempts to ignore it. He needed something to eat.

Luckily he found an establishment not far from him. It was a red building made of crystals, it was shaped like a triangle and it had sharp spikes at its tip.

Trey dragged himself to the door, he found out it was closed. He found a small hole next to the crystal door. A writing had been etched next to the door.

[Place your crystal ball]

The size of the hole was equivalent to a marble.

Trey searched the old man's cloak hoping it had the ball. Luckily it did.

It was a small ball with a pure transparent color. He placed the ball on the hole and the crystal cracked open, this created a decent sized gap, big enough for him to enter the establishment.

Trey took his marble and entered without a second invitation. Immediately after he entered, the door reformed itself and the gap closed like it never appeared.

The establishment was somehow even brighter on the inside than it was on the outside. The tables and chairs were all made of different colored crystals.

All the individuals who enjoyed themselves wore the same robes as the old man.

When he got a closer look at the letters on the white cloaks Trey found out. They were all written the same thing.

[Followers of the Lancers]

He didn't know what that meant and he didn't try to understand it. He found himself a small table and raised his hand for assistance.

It didn't take long for his sever to arrive, it was a a female wearing a black cloak which contrasted everyone in the room. A collar and chains dangled from her neck. She had scars all over her face.

"How can I help you sir" she asked in a low tone.

The sight of her brought memories to Trey, the memories of his life as a little boy came rushing in.

"Just goblin meat.." he managed to say after a long minute.

The woman bowed her head but as she turned to leave a crystal ball struck her head. It was much bigger than those marbles it was the size of a brick. The impact on her head forced her to hit the ground instantly.

"We've been waiting for our orders for a 30 seconds you piece of trash!" A man dressed in white shouted.

"Do u want to go back to the trash can?"

Immediately after hearing those words, the girl groveled.

"Forgive me !! I'll get your order right away! Forgive me!"

She repeated this for a good minute before the man shouted again. "Well get moving!!"

"Yes sir!" She responded as blood trickled down her head.

Laughter ensued after this.

"Good one! We should teach those rebels manners" another man said.

"Just because the priestess allowed some of them to live up here with us doesn't change anything. A piece of trash will always be a piece of trash!"

Trey's face had completely changed. His hand trembled as he reached for his back.

"Don't?" A voice came from Trey's left side.

He turned his head and saw a girl wearing a white cloak infront of him. Her hair was red, Trey could tell by the strands of hair that pierced through her hoodie.

"You're not from around here are you? I saw you beating up old man Edward a few minutes ago" the girl whispered.

"Do u expect me to sit around and watch after what they did to that girl?"

"Yes that's what you should do if you don't want the Lancers on your case. That's how things work here in Krey those who come from the trash can, have to obey those who are followers of the Lancers. It's not right but it's just the way things are" the girl explained.

"The way things are? And you're fine with that? You'll watch while someone is insulted like that, being treated as something no different than a dog. Do you have any idea how painful that life is?" Trey's eyes were enraged as he spoke.

The girl paused for a long minute before she spoke "I don't know, but if you try to change how things work here in Krey the Lancers will be on to you and you will die. You mustn't throw away your life, you don't need to be a hero."

Trey smiled, "hero? You seem to be misunderstanding something. I'm no hero. I just hate it when people think they can take another's freedom."

The girl from earlier returned, to give the man from earlier his order.

"I didn't ask for goblin! I clearly said I want lizardman!"

The man got up from his seat, she grabbed the girl by her chains. He slapped her to the ground. He started stomping on her repeatedly.

She cried for mercy but he didn't stop.

Laugher took over the building and people threw their plates, some stones to assist the man in his assault of the girl.

"That guy is Trudge, his older brother is a member of the Lancers I suggest you don't get involved."

"Sorry to disappoint you.."

Trey left his seat.

Before Trudge knew what happened his head was sent flying to the shining ceiling. His blood poured all over as his headless figure fell to the ground. The shimmering surface was drowned with blood.

Everyone was stunned, for a second silence dominated the room.

Trey dragged his sword on the ground. His footsteps echoed the room as he stood at its center.

"Since you guys love attacking others so much. I guess I should show how it feels to be attacked. I won't be using plates or stones though, I'll be using something far more deadly."

Trey's body leaked black aura as he spoke.

His blade glistened and his smile sent fear to all the hearts present.

"So...whose first?"
