Chapter 4: The Master and his Servant
In an isolated room, a ritual is being performed. A circle could be seen with intricately drawn designs, the circles emitting a soft blue glow. Two girls could be seen hugging one another. Their faces were pale white, their bodies shaking from the fear they felt. Who can blame them for a person stood above them, one who whose immense power can rule over all. The one they call, THE DEMON LORD!
“Lily, Please. Can you shut up for just a bit… also, what the hell is up with the narration? You’re making me sound like the villain over here!”
“Oh come on. You have to admit, it’s a good narration based on my point of view.”
Somehow, I feel really irritated seeing her smile like that. I really wish I can hit her in the head, but I really need both my hands for this. Slowly, I infused the mana within me into the circuits as a soft blue light emanated from the structure.
When I felt that the appropriate amount of mana was reached, I sent a small activation charge into the mana. A flash covered the entire room and before I know it, the light faded. The two girls sat there covering their eyes as Lily once again sat on the couch.
“And, we’re done.”
I quickly took my place besides Lily. Now what should I do? I should probably only tell them a bit about myself and leave the deep stuff for later. Even though their under the spell, I know for a fact that it can still be broken.
“Umm… is that it?”
I looked at Artura who seemed to be confused about something.
“What else are you expecting to happen?”
“Well… it’s just… I can’t even tell if you placed the contract spell on me.”
“Ahh… that’s because it won’t activate unless you break our contracts term and agreements.”
“Oh… well, how do we know that we’re under the contract?”
I smiled. I sent a small condensed activation charge straight at Artura. Marlana quickly sensed this and stood in front of her.
*Poink*
It grandly hit her in the forehead.
“Well, this is going to be fun to watch.”
“WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER!?”
“Just watch.”
Lily gave out a small snicker as Marlana quickly fell to the floor. She was slowly groaning and her breath was becoming ragged.
“Ma…Marlana?”
“P…p…pwse…. Don’t… kyaaa…”
I walked over to her and lightly tapped her leg. She gave out a very seductive moan.
“As you can see, this spell will instantly stop you from telling my secrets by enhancing every sensual areas of the body. Just imagine a very strong aphrodisiac affecting you in about one millisecond every three seconds.”
I gave out a small smile as I watched the magician squirm in ecstasy.
“Wait isn’t this too cruel! You fiend, why would you…?”
“Well, the best way to keep someone silent is to submit the mind to their body. For guys, by having their sense of pleasure taken away, they will fold instantly and become obedient. For girls, increasing their pleasure will make them obedient, the opposite of guys.”
Artura gave a look of defeat as she tried to pick up Marlana.
“Ahhnn.”
“You might want to leave her there for about five more minutes. I swear, master is really cruel sometimes.”
I looked at Lily whose eyes seemed to be sympathizing with Marlana. I may, or may not have done that to her too in the past…

(10 minutes later)
“Now that everything’s cleared, I can tell you guys more about me so ask away.”
I could see both fear and discomfort in her eyes, but sure enough Artura managed to eventually give out a poker face. She then looked at me for a bit before looking at Lily.
“I forgot to ask but what kind of spiritual being is Lily?”
“Oh, I didn’t mention that right. Well… how should I say this? Eh… I’ll be frank, she’s a Valkyrie.”
“Say what now?”
Artura gave a blank stare along with the fully healed Marlana.
“Well, basically Lily is known as a Valkyrie, the maidens who lead the dead from the battlefield.”
She let the information process in her head. I know for a fact that this world entertained the ideas of the gods and their myths. By just looking at some of the paintings, you can clearly tell that the Greek, Egyptian and Norse mythology were present in this world. Even one of the painting had a glorious image of a Valkyrie in full armor lead a dead soldier from the battlefield.
“SHES BASICALLY A DIVINE BEING THEN!”
Oh, now they can see her full potential. Well, in truth she is a divine being but…
“Well, she is a divine being but after being summoned, she no longer followed the concept of the heavens. When I first summoned her, she still had the same appearance of a Valkyrie. We soon found though that her armor and weapons were obsolete and her magic ineffective.”
“How can that be? She’s a divine being from legends. How can she be use…”
“I rather you don’t say the word useless.”
Lily was right up to Marlana’s neck as her blade was mere inches from cutting her. Man, Marlana is not having a great day today.
“Lily, give her a break. It’s not like she’s lying.”
“Wahhh… not you too.”
She gave a dejected look as she slumped back into the couch.
“Anyway, the reason why they were obsolete is because my world followed… a stigma. That is, the physical manifestation of the Divine are initially downgrade to a human counterpart though they still hold their initial strength as a divine.”
Artura is really thinking through this now as she closed her eyes to meditate. I’m kind of feeling impatient now though since I haven’t really asked any questions yet, but I should probably build up her trust first.
“Now, I know you guys have more questions to ask so let’s go to another topic.”
I could tell that broke her attention as she once again looked at me.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“Who are you Bryan? Like truly, who are you?”
I knew she was going to ask this.
“As you can tell, I’m no ordinary human being. I’m actually a clone.”
“Clone… I’m sorry, how is that possible? The clones I know of are mere images, illusion spells that allows fighters to outsmart and outmaneuver their opponents.”
I laughed.
“Well, that’s not far from the truth, but in my world clones are different. We are genetically modified humans capable of wielding power as well as having higher intellect than your average humans. Trust me though, we still make mistakes since were not perfect. But what really made us deadly was our Order.”
I felt the back of my head that held the small chip. I could feel it, a gem like structure at the back of my head that can kill me at any given moment.
“You see, the Order was installed in the back of the head of each clone. This Order was capable of killing us if we failed to neglect orders or if we were insufficient in battle. That’s why we were always under a constant fear… a fear of dying at any given moment, enemy or ally…”
“That’s why master and his companions would always fight for their lives and every time they win, they would grow more powerful and stronger than before.”
Lily finished my thought for me. Now that I think about it, my past life has been killing and fighting the Mordeaux… But not only that, I still remember killing other humans who tried to kill us. It was a really dark history, one filled with tragedies and sadness. But most of all, I still remembered the times beyond that.
“Well, that pretty much summed up my life. Now I believe it’s my turn to ask. Why did you attack us in the throne room?”
I couldn’t help but have an annoyed tone which Artura quickly caught my tone as she took a deep sigh. She then took a sip of her tea before settling in her couch.
“Well, that was actually to test you both.”
She placed her tea on the table and went over to a desk and began gathering some papers.
“You see, I have a very sporadic personality. Earlier, I genuinely wanted you two to leave for two reasons. One, I thought you guys were initially weak and would only die in the battlefield. That’s why I tried to send you guys as far away from the politics and wars of this world. Second, if you were to leave, I won’t have any distractions to deal with. I currently have too much in my hands right now, and I really can’t afford to have any more distractions.”
She then placed the papers in front of us. I looked at some of the headings, but to my surprise I didn’t know the language. I guess I can talk the language and not read it.
“As soon as Marlana told me you were different though, well I had to check in some way didn’t I. In no way do I regret ever attacking you both.”
She once again puffed out her chest with pride. In annoyance, I gave her a karate chop in the head. She held her head with both her hands as she crouched down on the sofa.
“Attacking us is one thing, but feeling proud about it is another. Really, are you truly the queen of this realm?”
Rubbing her head, she then began to unfold one of the papers. Those were probably some of her plans for her kingdoms or something. Oh, that reminds me.
“What about the other heroes, how are they doing in this world?”
“Oh, are you actually concerned about them?”
“No, not really. I’m just really curious about them and their world.”
Artura nodded before looking through her papers again.
“Well, you can say the heroes are doing fine but were having a bit of trouble.”
“How so?”
She took one of the pens on the table and began writing. I wonder what it’s about.
“Well, the demons are really powerful to begin with, so they’re really having a tough time breaking through the demon armies defenses.”
Of course, here comes the cliché powerful demon army trope.
“At the moment, because of the heroes, we’re able to get into a standstill. But now, it can all change.”
She then finished writing and slid the paper to me. I looked at it and to my surprise, I could read it.
“With both of your powers, we can finally defeat the demon army that his plaguing the human continents for ages. No longer will we suffer and instead enjoy everlasting peace. So what do you two say? Will you help us defeat the demon lord?”
She had a confident smile on her face as she presented me a pen. I looked at the contract she gave us.
Pact of the Hero
I Artura Wessex bestow upon you the title of hero.
You will be given access to the kingdoms resources in order to the defeat the Demon Lord.
You will be given allies to help you in your quest.

I looked towards Lily who seemed to be nodding towards me. It seems that we were in agreement. We both took in a deep breath and at the same time. A single word then escaped from our lungs and echoed throughout the entire room. A word that will forever change this world.
“”no!””
