“How big is this castle… like really?”

I couldn’t help but be annoyed as we finally made it to a pair of huge doors. It was a lot of pain trying getting here and being chased by griffins did not help me from calming down.

“I’m really sorry about that. I can’t believe I mistook the stairs to the throne room with the Aviary.”

I gave her a dull stare. Really, I was honestly filled with excitement at the beginning. Now I was really annoyed. Lily didn’t seem to care about the situation and just smiled as she has been doing.

“Well, this is it. Pass through these doors is the Queen of Wessex.”

And my excitement returned. Don’t judge me… this is the first time I’ve ever met a princess, Queen… whatever they call the ruler. I felt a tug on my cheek as I was forcefully introduced to a pair of frowning brown eyes.

“No cheating ok.”

“Cheating?”

I was kind of confused. Before I could think about it, she pushed me towards the doors and I grandly fell into the throne room.

“Dammit Lily. Even I can feel pain you know.”

She stuck her tongue out as she entered the room. Patting the dust from my clothes, I looked around the throne room. It was a humongous chamber with banners hanging from the ceiling.

At the back of the throne, a beautiful glass painting with lights coming out of it could be seen. Honestly, it was a very beautiful room.

“Excuse us your majesty but I have brought the heroes.”

Without even helping me up, Marlana passed me and kneeled in front of the throne room. A girl was sitting on the throne. She had light blue eyes and long flowing blonde hair.

As for her clothes, she was wearing some type of one piece with metal plating on her chest, and on her thigh. She kind of reminds me of the Valkyries. Beautiful with the aura that says ‘I’ll beat you up if you look at me wrong’.

“So these are the heroes.”

I could feel her gaze studying each part of me. I couldn’t help but shudder. She then sighed and began looking at me as if I was some kind of pest.

“How… underwhelming…”

“Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?”

I couldn’t help but shout at her. First time we’ve met and she’s already insulting me. What gives her grounds for that?

“Oh, I’m sorry. It’s just, the previous heroes were a bit more… entertaining.”

I couldn’t help but get angry. She was seriously a bratty kind. Ugh… it’s these people that I really hate associating with. Away from that though, something from her words really caught my attention.

“What do you mean by, previous?”

“Oh, didn’t Marlana not tell you. Well, to be blunt. You two are the fifth and sixth hero we’ve summoned.”

I blinked in surprise.

“Fifth and sixth?”

“Yes. The first one is a girl who has high aptitude in magic. The second and the third are twins though ones a girl and ones a boy. Their strength as well as magic are insane. The fourth is a boy who was really confused the first time he came here. Now, he’s leading my army as a strategist since he’s knowledge is beyond this world. Truly that war training program called ‘Total War’ has made him a great strategist.”

She thrust out her chest as if she’d personally trained the heroes. This attitude is really…

“Oh, and yes. I did train them, hence I’m very proud of the heroes who have grown as such.”

That… just made it worse. I really can’t imagine this Ojou Sama training those heroes to this degree.

“Ok… so if you already have heroes, then why did you summon us?”

The queen shrugged.

“Well… I was actually just curious. We had an extra summoning crystal left so I thought, why not summon another hero? I mean, the more powerful we are, and the quicker we can win this war right?”

I looked at her with a blank face. I… could not believe what I’m hearing, though I’m actually kind of thankful. Because of her wishful thinking, we managed to leave that destructive world. I gave out a sigh as I finally pieced the pieces together.

“So then, what are we supposed to do?”

“Simple. Leave.”

“ehh…”

I looked at the queen, my ears kind of breaking down on me.

“Ummm… say what again?”

“Leave. I want you two to leave the castle. Based on my Identify spell, both of you don’t really have anything special that we need. More like, everything is pretty low level. Hence we don’t need either one of you. Also don’t worry. We’ll give you the necessary funds in living in the city. Off course from there, it’s up to you on how to live your life”.

She gave out a smile as if our life was not even worth for her to think about. This bitch was starting to get on my nerves… wait a minute. If we leave, then we won’t have to intermingle in their politics. Which means… We’ll be free to do what we want. This is our chance!

“Ok then, since you’re the queen, we will follow your orders and leave. It was really good to…”

“Wait your majesty if I may”

I looked at Marlana who suddenly spoke up. I tried to get her attention, but she was staring intensely at the queen.

“If I may interject, I believe that this couple is actually capable of doing much more than you think they can.”

“Ho… you think my Identify spell is wrong.”

Marlana shuddered. You could see the sweat fall from her head.

“No your majesty, but I believe that your spell may not have gotten it all. When I first saw them, him especially, they were capable of showing a huge amount of bloodlust and…”

“You think that’s enough for me to change my mind. Even toddlers can inhibit a strong sense of…”

“No your majesty. It’s just, their bloodlust was… on a different level…”

I saw a glint on the queen’s eyes. Uh oh.

“Different you say. What do you mean?”

“Well… he’s bloodlust held… restraint. As if he was capable of extinguishing it. The girl on the other hand barely showed anything…”

Silence filled the room. With just that one explanation, Marlana may have included us into something that I really won’t like to be a part of.

“I see…”

The queen stood from her chair. She was looking down, though I could see a smile on her face.

“Kill them.”

I barely heard her whisper but my surroundings spoke for me. I instantly summoned my knives as I stabbed in two different directions. I felt flesh on both blades and I instantly slashed to the side letting my blade free.

“geh……Im…poss…ible.”

“Ugh…….Ho…how?”

The two men fell to the floor, their blood gushing to the floor. The surrounding people grew restless as some stood from their seat.

“Nuh, uh, uh. You shouldn’t be doing that Mr. Knight.”

I looked behind me to see the knight I had felt creeping up behind me. Lily was already at his side, pointing her gun to his head.

“Can I shoot him?”

“No, I think he’s lost the will to fight.”

The man looked scared. He had already dropped his weapon seeing that his companions were killed in a flash. Lily released him begrudgingly, though she gave a quick kick to the jewels. God, why is she so violent towards other guys. A clapped slowly reverberated around the chamber.

“I see… I see… Truly with this… there’s no possible way I can keep you out of this mess.”

She sighed as she walked from her throne. She then opened a door and was beckoning us to come over.

“Well… It’s too late for me to back out now. You two come over here. We have a meeting to do.”

“You really think we’ll go in there considering you just tried to kill us.”

She gave out another sigh.

“Just follow me. I’m already risking my pride and livelihood by just inviting you two into my office. Marlana, can you make us a cup of tea.”

The magician girl bowed as she left the premise. Is she seriously thinking that we would be peaceful after that? Before I could reply, she raised her hand in front of her. I quickly readied my blades expecting her to attack.

“Oh Goddess of light, protect those who are thou’s servant [Heal].”

A green light emanates from the two wounded men. I could sense their wounds closing up at an alarming speed. That was a really powerful spell.

“Now then hero. Would you please accompany me in this meeting?”

“Again, I would like to bring up the…”

“Look, you’re still alive right. Do you honestly think I was going to kill you both?”

“”Yes”””

Both me and Lily replied. The queen could only give out a stare of defeat.

“I guess it can’t be helped.”

She faced both of us and bowed.

“Please, I ask for your sincere forgiveness. In the name of my kingdom and the title ‘Sword Princess’ I, Artura Wessex, vow not to attack either of from this moment forward. So please, forgive me.”

I stood there perplexed. At one point, she tried to kill me. At another, she’s apologizing. Really, this girl is really sporadic.

“I think we can trust her.”

I looked at Lily. I know that she has excellent foreknowing of peoples intentions and emotions, but even that has its limits. Then again, at this rate, I really will know nothing. UGH… WHY DOES THIS FEEL LIKE SOME KIND OF VIDEO GAME?

“Fine… but just know that I really don’t like this.”

She laughed.

“Acknowledged, but trust me. This will meeting will be worth it.”

She walked through the doors and was instantly followed by Lily.

Figures…

I could only say in my mind, why am I doing this? Before following after the two girls.
