Volume 3: Chapter 40

Followed by Iris, Lilly and, of course Ran, Charlotte went into town to the blacksmith Annalisa who she hadn’t seen in a while.

“Oh, it’s you again. How may I help you this time?”

Annalisa instantly recognized the girl.

“Actually, I was wondering if you could make me something again.”

“Of course. You always ask me to make the most interesting things, so how could I refuse?”

Letting out a haha, Charlotte retrieved the papers from her pocket and displayed them on the counter.

“Um…isn’t this…a sword?”

“Yes. I can never be too sure, so I need a weapon like this as well.”

Iris and Lily were curious and poked their heads to see. Even Ran was curious and let out a whistle in amazement.

“Even I have never seen something like this.” Or so he said.

Naturally, this is because it’s a weapon that had yet to be developed in this world/ game.

One of them was a katana. A standard weapon.

On another paper, she had drawn the designs of kunais, shuriken, tanto (dagger), throwing knives, sai, fan and chain. These were all weapons that she was best familiar with and would have a difficulty using the ones from this world. There were a lot, but she trusted in Annalisa’s skills that she would be able to satisfy her needs.

“I will probably be leaving in five months, so I hope you will be able to finish by then. Also…since I would be entering the academy and be unable to take them with me, I would like to leave Iris and Lilly in your care. They might be able to help you with anything you need. Of course, I will give you the required funds to do so and if any problems arise, you can ask my father or a man named Walter for assistance.”

She had already discussed this with the two of them before hand, but even so, they didn’t seem to be willing.

They began to cling onto her, but this was something she had decided the day she had picked them up. “Hey, it’s not like I’m throwing you away, alright? You two are making me sound so evil. It’s just that if you only stay at the mansion, nothing will change. Here, you can help Annalisa and since she’s also of the same kin, you don’t need to worry.”

But, no matter what she said, nothing helped.

Un, she had completely underestimated their clinginess towards her. But that wasn’t good. Even if the part of her father turning bad had been prevented, that didn’t mean that it would always stay this peaceful. There was also the sudden increase of monsters that would occur in five years. They needed to at least be able to defend themselves. She had already taught them some sword skills and martial arts, but that probably wasn’t enough against monsters like that snake.

In the game, these two had developed their skills when they were with Annalisa. So, this was the best choice she could make for them.

Annalisa gave her an Ok after a long hesitation and that the weapons would be finished in four month’s time.

“Why did you suddenly decide something like that? Could it be that you finally got tired of the brats?”

Charlotte glanced at Ran walking by her side “You may think as you wish.”

He began to laugh “You really are interesting. Those weapons too. I would never have even thought such thing existed. But what would such small things possibly be capable of? Scratch your enemies??”

“Small things huh. Fufufu~ guess you’ll have to find out on your own.”

“But to think you agreed with that plan of your father’s…”

“Oh? You mean going to the academy? If you think about it, than that would give me a lot more freedom. “

“You’re rather strange for a noble young girl.”

“Same goes for you. I had always thought your kind to be more arrogant and look down especially on us humans. Who would have guessed that you would actually follow a little human girl, willingly at that?”

“As I said, you are an exception.”

“I’ve always wondered what you meant about that.” Then, the two suddenly halted in their steps. With a charming smile, he turned to her and asked “What are your orders, mistress?”

She closed her eyes and carefully said “Just don’t kill them.”

“Understood.” A malicious glint flashed passed his eyes and the next instant he disappeared and reappeared next to her again and they continued to walk as if nothing happened.

Not far from where they stood laid a pile of bodies on top of each other all black and blue.
