“Have you finished your business, my lady?”
Charlotte and Walter were back in the main road. She said that she would be going to shop for clothes, but the only thing he saw her do was window shopping and, occasionally she would enter the shop, only to come out with a shocked expression.
(I really do hope nothing is wrong with her.)
“Hmn, I suppose. I didn’t find the dress I was looking for after all. Since we still have time, do you have any places you would like to recommend?”
“Me?”
“Yes, you Walter. Who else am I supposed to ask?”
“But I only know of places where commoners often visit.”
“Is there a problem with those places?”
“Well…no.”
“Then let us go.”
This time, Walter knew for certain that something wasn’t right. Didn’t she always hate commoners!? Just the mention of them irritated her. Don’t even mention being in their presence!
(Walter Walter, I really pity you. But, on the other hand, its quite fun to see everyone’s reactions. Fufufu~)
By the end of the day, Charlotte had enjoyed herself thoroughly. Eating snacks from food stalls, dancing along with the street performers, it was a bizarre sight to see from others perspective.
“I suppose it’s time to go back. That was truly a lot of fun fufufu~”
“My lady, I am glad you enjoyed yourself, but are you sure you are alright?”
“Geez, you guys sure are worrywarts. I said I was- “Kyaaa!!” fine…?”
Charlotte followed the direction of the scream. Then, she saw two little girls around the same age as her running away from a group of thugs-looking-guys. One of the girls tripped. The other stopped running and went to help her up, but the men chasing after them had caught up. One of the men then raised a wooden pole and was about to hit them with it.
“Walter.”
Seeing the frown on her face and that tone, he understood what she wanted him to do with just that.
-swish~
Within a blink of an eye, Walter’s tall figure had disappeared from her side and reappeared between the two.

“What the…who the hell are ya!? Do you know who we are!? If you mess with use you will regret this, punk!”
But, compared to soldiers on the battle field, these thugs were nothing and wouldn’t be able to faze him a bit. Walter still tightly gripped the thug at his wrist and slightly pushed him backwards.
The thug stumbled down and fell on his butt. His face became fuming red as he yelled “What are you three still standing around for, get this son of a ****!”
“Haaa!”
“Araaa!!!”
The three other thugs ran towards Walter with various weapons. But, Walter still stood there calm and composed. He slightly bended his knee, placed one hand on his sheathe and one on his sword’s hilt. As soon as the three were four steps within his radius, Walter took out his sword. With one swing, he had successfully sliced their weapons in two.
The thugs began to tremble in front of him. Walter pointed his sword against his neck and spoke “My lady, what would you like to do with them?”
From the main road, Charlotte walked over with her arms crossed over her chest as she entered the slightly dark alley. She glanced at the men on the ground, then at the two injured girls. They were actually beastkin.
“Do what you are supposed to, hand them over to the guards. I have no intentions of intervening too much as a simple guest.”
“As you wish.”
Walter then knocked the four of them unconscious and threw them onto one pile. Afterwards, he set off a flare towards the sky and a pair of knights patrolling the area arrived.
“What about these two?”
Walter pointed at the two beastkin girl who had cuddled closely together, still weary of their surroundings.
One had black-grey-ish hair while the other had silver hair. When the two momentarily raised their heads, Charlotte’s eyes opened wide.
(Hold on, aren’t these two also characters within the game!?)
Iris; the black-grey-ish haired panther girl. In the game, she had been an assistant at ethereal hammer’s shop. As for Lilly, the silver haired wolf beastkin girl, she was a side character that had helped out in a demon subjugation, but died.
(That isn’t so good…)
Charlotte slowly walked over to the two and asked in a neutral tone “What are your names?”
The two girls looked up, but it was clear to see that they were frightened by her. Was she going to hit them too? Or was she going to sell them to a slave dealer?
“W-we don’t have names….”
“Is that so?”
(So the people who adopted them were the ones to give them names huh.)
“Then I’ll call you Iris and you Lilly. At the moment I didn’t bring any of my servants with me. I guess you two will have to do. Follow me.”
Charlotte turned around. Walter followed closely behind her. The two were a bit hesitant, but what other choice did they have? They didn’t have any money or a house. They were hungry and if someone was willing to give them work, then they couldn’t refuse.
“But first, we need to get rid of those dirty clothes. I don’t want to bother Mr. Vander by dirtying his house.”
As soon as the two had followed after her, Charlotte spat out those words.
Naturally it hurt them and all they could do was lower their heads in shame. What happened next was completely out of their expectations.
Firstly, Charlotte had brought them to a clothing store that wasn’t too expensive like what nobles usually wear (for crying out loud I don’t even know how ‘I’ could buy those!) but for the two who had only ever worn rags, it was blinding.
Since the two didn’t choose, charlotte just picked out what she liked. Next, they went to a bathing house. Luckily the owner wasn’t one of the people who held prejudice against beastkin.
“Hooo~ they have a sauna.”
“Missy, thanks for coming. Here’s a coupon for the next time.”
“Thanks~! I’ll be sure to come again~”
At some point Charlotte began chatting with the old owner and he even gave her a coupon ticket. Such a nice old man~.
Afterwards, although a little late, she brought them to eat their fill.
“Well, it’s getting late. Let’s go back.”
