Volume 2: Chapter 24

“Wa—up--”

“Hey! Wake up!”

A heavy kick landed on his stomach and he finally opened his eyes wide open from pain while groaning.

“You’re finally awake.”

“You…did you have to kick me so hard?” he looked in the direction of that familiar voice with tears in his eyes.

“You weren’t waking up and I was starting to get bored.”

“Is that the only thing on your mind right now…? Who on earth treats their fiancé like this?”

Because he was the closest to her, she didn’t have a choice BUT to choose him. She had already removed the gag from his mouth after he was finished screaming using her teeth. With their faces so close to one another, Leo’s face was slightly blushed. But since it was dark, he was thankful that no one could see him. Or so he thought.

“You…are you the reincarnation of the devil?”

“How rude. I did so much as to remove that thing from your mouth and this is how you thank me? ...Anyways, those two are too far way, so could you wake them up for me?”

He sighed. But then judged that it would be for the best for those two if he did that instead of her. While crawling on the ground, he first woke up Terrence who woke up with a slight push. But no matter how much he tried, Leila wouldn’t wake up.

“Either they used a heavier dosage on her or she’s weak to drugs.”

“You know a lot about these things.”

Of course she knew. Aside from physical training, she had been taught about the various poisons, medicines and other herbal plants.

But, in this world she had also done her own research as the plants varied. There were also the ingredients they used in the game to make various poisons and potions. As she had the basic knowledge, she had also helped in the creating of the potions and poisons in the game, just that the names differed from reality.

“…Anyway, our lives shouldn’t be in any danger…for the time being.”

“Well, we should come up with a plan to escape and somehow call for help.”

Terence and Leo moved with their backs against one another and tried to get the ropes off.

“If that is all you are worried about, then the whole country already knows about use getting kidnapped.”

They froze

“What do you mean?”

“I already informed my familiar who already informed my teacher who then informed my father who most certainly informed the king.”

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

“…okay. We get it.”

Terence finally managed to get the cloth away from his mouth and took deep breathes. “Hold up hold up. Since when did you have a familiar!?”

Even Leo was curious “You should know that not everyone is able to form a contract with spirits, especially at such a young age.”

“Yes, I have been told. The only ones who were aware were my magic teacher and now my father. Instead of that, I think it would be better to focus on how to get out of this place. You two seem calm, so this probably isn’t the first time.”

“…Well, as the crown prince it is pretty natural, but you’re way too calm yourself. As far as I know, you’ve been raised inside the mansion almost your whole life.”

“Also, you even sensed danger when even I couldn’t when I’ve been trained, but you...”

“Since its you guys, I don’t mind telling you, but you have to promise not to tell anyone. Especially my father.”

Although it was dark, they could tell from her voice that she was being really serious. Something that she rarely was.

“Alright.”

“We promise.”

She let out a sigh. Then, she only told them about how she secretly trains herself in her back garden and how she met with Puff Puff and that she was able to use a bit of magic. Although it wasn’t entirely true, it wasn’t a lie either.

The two others also shared with her of their capabilities, so it would be easier to work together when the time comes.

“So Terence has the fire attribute while Leo the lightning and wind attribute. …couldn’t you have just burned the ropes?”

“You say it as thought it’s easy! Do you know how much control and concentration it takes?”

“No idea.”

Leo interrupted them “Well, we specialized more in close combat rather than magic. We only use that as a last option. For instance, now that we don’t have any weapons.”

Most of their belongings are gone. It goes without saying that Leo and Terence’s sword got confiscated. As for charlotte, the only thing that was missing was her hat.

“…those bastards actually dared to take my hat!?”

“…Is that anything to get angry about?”

“And this is the first time I hear you use foul language…because of a hat.”

Again, they were left speechless at her common sense.

“Hump! That’s it. I don’t care who they are, but if they show up before rescue does, I’m going to kill them.” Her voice was low, but it sent a cold chill down their backs. After experiencing dangerous situations over the past, they were certain; she was actually emitting killing intent!

But, how could someone who had never faced dangers much less been so close to death’s door possibly pull off this feet?

Charlotte took a deep breath to calm her rage; she almost reverted back to that. She returned to her usual calm self, which let the two finally feel relieved.

“Anyways, they didn’t take any of my weapons.”

Again, they were shocked.

“Weapons…what do you...”

The sounds of bones cracking sharply rang in their ears. That was definitely the sound of a finger breaking!

“{Night vision}”

After freeing her hands, Charlotte walked over to the two and casted the night vision spell on them. Thanks to that, they were able to see in the dark.

“Okay. I’ll cut off the ropes now.”

When they heard her say so, they shivered. She wasn’t trying to break their fingers, was she!?

“Pfft” she let out a soft laugh “Don’t worry. I did say I have a weapon didn’t I?”

Two be fair, she had three. One was the fan she hid in her bosom, one was the hair pin that was still stuck in her hair and the other was the bracelet around her wrist, which were all made of special materials for emergencies like this.

She took the bracelet off and after pouring in some mana, the bracelet’s shape began to change into a small silver knife.

“I have no idea where you got that thing from.”

This was something that had yet to be developed in this world. Even though it was usually used to hunt wild animals in the game, for Charlotte who trained as a kunoichi, it was the perfect weapon.

The two of them silently watched in amazement at her actions. Without delay, she cut the ropes loose and also did Leila’s.

“Instead of breaking your finger, couldn’t you have just done that?”

Charlotte looked at Leo then replied “To do that, I would need both my hands, which were tied at that moment.”

…Alright. It was a stupid question to ask.
