Joyce walked up to Sang and handed him her altering. “Like I said before, I have no use for it as I’m no tamer.” Sang took it and slipped it onto his middle finger, while Dante’s altering was on his ring finger. “Let’s stop by the Inunu shop so I can put one in this altering,” Sang suggested.
Rose tightened her grip on Dante. “Why would a Lynch even have an altering? They are rare and expensive, yet you gave one away for free. What is your goal anyway?”
Joyce blushed, bending down to pet Dante. “I’ll do what it takes to be near this adorable Inunu. You can call it love at first sight.”
Sang huffed. “Like I said before, Morning is dangerous. Don’t be surprised if he bites off one of your fingers.”
Both Rose and Joyce giggled, their faces turning red as they tried to hide their embarrassment.
As they entered Inunu Co., Dante was overwhelmed by the myriad of scents from the various creatures. Being carried by Rose made him feel special, but he also felt a familiar hunger gnawing at him. He looked around, seeing cages filled with all sorts of creatures, from a black wolf-like beast adorned with bones to a rock-like lizard that seemed to be boiling. A white bat-like creature stood on its two legs, catching Dante’s eye.

Sang approached the front desk. “I would like to buy every Inunu here, and this girl,” he pointed at Rose, “will pay for it all. I want them to fight.”
Rose huffed. “I’ll also buy my fiancé two alterings and bring all the faerie types so Morning can have some breakfast. I know he must be hungry.”
The clerk brought out three creatures: an Itania, a vibrant and enormous moth with iridescent wings; a Faira, a delicate pink dragonfly with shimmering wings; and a Hexamp, a stout mushroom with a blocky body. Dante leapt from Rose’s arms, his eyes locked on the Hexamp. With a swift and brutal assault, he bit off the Hexamp’s head. The creature’s body exploded, sending a shockwave that blew Dante and everything else within a ten-foot radius backward. One of Rose’s summons shielded her, Sang, and Joyce from the blast.
Dante’s injuries healed almost instantly as he stood up, sniffing the air. The scent of something delicious led him to the lifeless body of the clerk, surrounded by dead Inunus. Succumbing to one of his dark fantasies, he began to devour the clerk’s body. As Rose’s summons vanished, they surveyed the destruction around them. Sang heard a disturbing crunching sound and turned to see Dante gnawing on something. Before he could investigate, Joyce grabbed his arm and pointed to the opposite corner where a few Inunus still clung to life.
There stood a Rione, a black wolf covered in bones; a Sunny, a yellow bunny with sparkling fur; and a Noxfera, a white bat with piercing eyes fixed on Dante. Sang retrieved three collars and the two alterings the clerk had given him. He approached the Inunus and tossed the collars onto them. As the collars fastened around their necks, the creatures vanished into Sang’s alterings.
