Taming Morning
chapter 10

chapter 10

The streets of Sandyville were crowded as ever as all types made their way through them. Sang stopped in front of a building with a sign saying “Local Adventurer’s Administration Building” on it. The inside was very professional-looking, with chairs on both the left and right, with tons of people occupying them. They waited in line for a good five minutes before they got to the receptionist. She was a middle-aged lady with short brown hair and brown eyes. She looked at Sang with a smile before asking, “How can I be of service to you today?” Sang then pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to her, saying, “I’d like to register for my Adventurer’s Identification and get one for my Inunu Morning here as well.” She then took the slip of paper before getting up and going into the back of the room. When she came back, she had some paperwork with her and a booklet. She handed them to Sang before saying, “Please read these documents and sign them. Once you read the guidelines and responsibilities, please bring them back so we can start your orientation.” It only took Sang a couple of minutes to finish before she gestured for them to go out the back door. Outside in the back was an obstacle course of some sort. There was a massive guy with no shirt waiting for them. He looked Sang up and down before saying, “I’m Sergeant Pain, and I will be in charge of your physical examination. If you pass, you will be officially an adventurer. Now I want you to run this obstacle course in three minutes, and if you do, you pass. Now begin!” Sang took a deep breath, his eyes narrowing with determination. As soon as the signal was given, he exploded into action. His movements were a blur of speed and precision. He approached the first wall with a powerful leap, his fingers gripping the top edge as he vaulted over it with ease. Each subsequent wall fell before him like dominoes, his momentum never faltering.

Reaching the pendulums, Sang’s eyes tracked their movements with uncanny accuracy. He timed his dashes perfectly, slipping through the gaps with milliseconds to spare. His footfalls were light and sure as he navigated the treacherous terrain, his body moving with the grace of a dancer.

At the monkey bars, Sang’s hands flew from one bar to the next, his grip unyielding despite the slick surfaces. He swung with practiced ease, his body a pendulum of controlled power. As he reached the final incline, he dug his heels into the gravel, his legs pumping with relentless force. The bridge swayed beneath him, but Sang’s focus was unbreakable. He crossed it in a heartbeat, his balance impeccable.

Sergeant Pain’s eyes widened in astonishment as Sang completed the course in just thirty seconds. “That is what I want from all my new recruits! You passed, Mr. Royo. You may go get your official adventurer’s identification now.”
