Chapter Twenty-Four

----------------------------------------

The pest problem dealt with, I store the enchanted sword, then head back to Sanctuary. It was time to celebrate! I shift into nimble-form, heading straight for the camp. Without wings, it is easier to traverse the forest, so I reach the Pack within minutes. “Let us begin the celebration!” The Pack howls as one, their happiness clear. Selene dashes straight for me. “It is good to see you, Dog.” She purrs. “You as well, Cat.” We join in on the festivities.

I pile a few large slices of meat on a large stone slab in the center of the village from my time in the mountains. “So, Cat, what’s been happening while I was gone?” “Well, Mist and Luna, the new Guild Master, have been managing most of the pack while you were away. Mist’s a Hydrocanis now. She can shift from an aquatic-form to a land-form, and is extremely deadly in water, and quite talented in mist manipulation.” I smirk. “She took after her name, then.”

Another voice joins our conversation. “Stop talking like I’m not here!” The voice was a much larger Mist, covered in light gray fur streaked with blue, and crystal blue eyes. “I am sitting right next to you!” I jumped back like I just noticed her, an obviously fake frightened expression on my face. “Mist! Where did you come from?!” I whisper-shout. She rolls her eyes. “Knock it off, you big fluffball.” I make an exaggerated wounded expression, a paw on my chest. “My heart, it hurts.” I say. “No, I cannot be a fluffball!”

I shift my form into a dark direwolf shape with sleek fur and red eyes. “I’m a terrible monster!” I joke. She smacks me in the snout. “Don’t do that, or I’ll take away your favorite food for a week. I laugh. “Alright, alright. Let me tell you about this guy with a funny hat…” The party lasted all night, and was nicknamed the ‘Howl Fest’. We plan to have it on pretty much every important event that doesn’t already have a holiday. If you couldn’t already tell, wolves love to have parties. So do dryads. And foxes… Actually, all of the creatures that live here love to have festivals. Kind’ve funny, really.

I later learned that Sanctuary is already considered important for the wolves, as it was a place to learn safely and evolve. Over half of the wolves who journey here to learn, stay and raise their families. The current warriors that teach the classes are really good at teaching. One for those with magic, called the Path of the Mystic, and one for those without, known as the Path of the Warrior. Those with magic learned to fight as well, of course, for their path was more focused on close-range spells like [Imbue].

I also learned that most creatures have a hard time gaining skills. My blessings, [Blessing of Dragons], [Bringer of the Storm], [Night’s Herald], and [Limitless Potential] give me abilities and weaknesses. [Blessing of Dragons] lets me be part dragon, and have better skills, like my racial abilities such as [Mana Flight], [Dragon Hoard], or [Dragon Wings]. [Bringer of the Storm] gives me a better affinity for the Storm, skills related to the Storm. [Night’s Herald] gives me an affinity for shadow, better stealth, and I have a chance to deal more damage when striking from the shadows. [Mystic Beast (Fenrir)], gives me some memories of this world, and makes me capable of speaking every language. Finally, [Limitless Potential] was given to me by [ƎŔřŎŘ], and lets me have literally no limit.

I have very little difficulty getting skills, and I have no limit on stats, which pretty much lets me be extremely overpowered. I also have no mana, and instead have a sort of inner energy, letting me store life energy I take in my core for use in skills. The more powerful the enemy, the more life energy they have. Like that lich guy, even if he technically wasn’t alive. No idea how that works. I stored the sword in my hoard, which is coming along nicely. I’m learning enchanting now, as I have a ton of high grade materials that would be nice to have in my hoard. And also to keep away boredom. How does anyone sit around all day doing nothing? I spend a lot of my time sleeping, learning things like enchanting, eating, or teaching, nowadays.
