Chapter Nineteen

Chapter Nineteen

----------------------------------------

I opened my eyes in the minotaur’s cave. I was now about 75 feet long. My wings had grown even more, darkening even further. My eyes glow in the darkness of the cavern, and my horns, spikes, teeth, claws, and bones were almost entirely silver. My bones were light, yet strong, the silvery metal reinforcing them further. I opened my profile to see another surprise.

Wow. I am impressed with my stats. It seems like I acquired the Dispel Magic ability after breaking the minotaur's control over the stone, which will definitely come in handy during battles. I can't stand it when my opponents try to block my lightning attacks with magic or use illusions that actually affect me. Remembering a particularly frustrating encounter with an invisible Caecus Viper in the past, I transform into my smaller form and start my journey through the tunnels.

----------------------------------------

As I reach my familiar cavern, my mouth waters in anticipation as I prepare to feast on the succulent meat of the ice yetis I carefully preserved. After melting the ice, I eagerly dig into the flavorful meal.

After my small meal, I stand up and walk over to the entrance, peering out warily. “Guess it's time to test my evolution.” With a howl, I shift to my full size, my paws pounding on earth and snow. As soon as I cross an invisible line, a violent snowstorm appears, the wind buffeting against my fur, I catch sight of the wendigo chasing after me. Its eerie wail echoes through the storm, sending shivers down my spine. With a fierce growl, I dive towards the ground, the wendigo hot on my tail.

I land with a thud, the snow crunching beneath my massive paws. The wendigo charges at me, its claws gleaming in the dim light. I let out a roar of challenge, meeting its attack head-on. Our claws clash, sending sparks flying in the air as we wrestle for dominance.

The wendigo is fast, but I am stronger. With a powerful swipe, I manage to knock it off balance, sending it sprawling in the snow. I pounce on top of it, sinking my teeth into its neck with a savage fury. The wendigo thrashes underneath me, its blood staining the pristine white snow.

I tear into its flesh, relishing in the taste of victory. The wendigo lets out a final, pitiful wail before falling still, its lifeless eyes staring up at the darkened sky. I stand triumphantly over my fallen foe, the thrill of battle coursing through my veins.

As I feast on the wendigo's flesh, savoring the sweet taste of victory, I know that this fight has only made me stronger. I am a creature of the wild, a predator to be feared. And anyone who dares to challenge me will meet the same violent fate.
