Chapter Fifteen
----------------------------------------
Mother! I need your help!” My howl echoes through the forest before I hear her voice behind me. “Of course you do. I hope you didn’t set the forest on fire again.”
“Of course not, Mother. Selene told me that you could help me find a place you didn’t control, to find a worthy foe?”
“Ah, that place.” She turns. “Magnolia. Could you bring her to her destination?” A dryad with pink hair and bark-like skin steps out of a nearby tree with the same features.
“Of course, Mother.” She turns to me. “Can I ride you?”
“Yes.” She sits between my wings and I prepare to take off. “Hold on!” With a few flaps of my wings, I burst through the trees.
“Where to?”
“That way!” She points south-east. I glide, flapping occasionally to keep aloft. Soon, I spotted our destination.
Finding a clearing a little ways away from the place, I glide down. “Here is where you get off, I believe.” She hops down, and I start running. I charge out of the trees and into a clearing. In the middle is a ruined keep, surrounded by rotting trees. I dig my claws into the musty ground as I hear rattling bones. Skeletons rise around me. “Oh, come on! Why must it be skeletons?!” I hate undead. They are ridiculously annoying to kill the few times I come across them. The only way to kill them is by crushing their skull, burning them, or destroying their source. I don’t have any good fire magic yet, and smashing every skull is tedious, sooo…
The source it is. I charge towards the keep, barreling straight into the skeletons. In the former great hall, I find a skeleton sitting in a chair on the far end, dressed in strangely ornate robes, holding a staff with a glowing green gem on the end. “Uhhh. You’re a lich, aren’t you. Annoying.”
The skeleton’s eyes sockets light up with a green flame. “Yes, I am the great lich Mortekk the Immortal, the Master of Undeath! I will… Wait, you’re not an adventurer.”
“Nope. I just want to evolve and I killed everything else. Also, Mother wants you dead, so…” I call upon the Storm inside me, using [Imbue] on myself and changing myself with lightning. I leap forward, charging towards the lich. He dodges as I lunge forward. My jaw snaps shut with a sound like thunder. “Just hold still and die already, Morweckle!”
“My name is Mortekk the Immortal!”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say Mellric.”
“I am Mortekk, you insufferable dog!” He shouts, shooting a blast of purple magic from his staff. I dodge to the side and howl, activating [Storm Empowerment]. He somehow manages to look afraid when I howl. How does that work with a skull for a face? I lunge forward while he is distracted, grabbing his staff and part of his arm, and crushing it.
“Now, die.” I call down my lightning, and while he is stunned, I deal the final blow, slashing forward with my lightning imbued claws.
Mortekk the so-called Immortal lets out a bone-chilling scream as my claws tear through his skeletal body, dispersing his essence into the air. The remaining skeletons crumble to dust, leaving the clearing silent once more. I stand victorious, my fur crackling with residual electricity from the battle.
You have slain a Grade C [The Master of Undeath].

Ignoring my notifications for the moment, I start making my way back home when suddenly, a thought strikes. What if there's hidden treasure waiting to be discovered? That strange character Mockelkle, or whatever his name was, had that air of someone who collects valuable items. Intrigued, I decide to search the keep for the treasury.
After a bit of exploring, I eventually come face-to-face with a massive metal door. With a burst of anticipation, I push it open to reveal a room filled with chests, racks of armor, and an array of weapons. The palpable magic in the room sends shivers down my spine - I can feel the mana in these weapons and armor. But now the question remains: how do I transport all this treasure back home?
Recalling a skill I had seen in my profile earlier, I searched for it eagerly.
Would you like to purchase Space Magic?
Without hesitation, I hit 'Yes', feeling a surge of excitement as I accessed my profile to confirm the acquisition of this mysterious ability - Space Magic.

Yes! Finally, I have the power to control my size and the bonus of having storage! Excitement courses through me as I wag my fluffy silver tail, only to quickly remember that I am in a treasure room filled with valuable items. I carefully and methodically empty the room of its contents, collecting enchanted armor, heaps of gold, and an array of weapons. The treasure hunt is a thrilling success, and now I can truly embody the essence of a dragon with my newfound hoard.
As I carefully organize the items into my magical storage, I begin to envision the possibilities for my expanding empire. Perhaps I can hollow out a cavern beneath my den to create a food storage for my pack in case of emergency. I may also need to carve out additional rooms for my bones from each kill, a space for practicing runes, and a library for furthering my knowledge.
With my plan in place and the room cleared, I turn to head back to continue evolving and building the expansion of my domain. The future is bright with endless possibilities now at my paws.
