I didn't try to argue with the man.
It would only be a good thing for the surrounding area after all.
"Of course due to my oath, I won't be able to hurt them. But I trust Harold and your new companion will more than be up for the job."
I would have to get to the bottom of exactly what that oath was. But for now, I let it go.
After making sure that both Harold and Douglas couldn't sense anything of danger nearby. I watched them head off to deal with the weakest of the dread beasts.
Both the Teachers had been adamant that hurting the scouts wouldn't move up the timeline.
Most likely the more powerful dread beasts wouldn't even care.
Them leaving me alone left me with little to do. With the worry of running into another person like Eddie, I was a little more cautious.
I didn't find anything of value until I came across an abandoned smithy. While it seemed that the more valuable materials had been taken. There were still plenty of lesser materials around.
Which did make me a little curious. While I wouldn't imbue Jayson. Using one of the lesser talented students wouldn't hurt too much.
They were in an order that was not alphabetical. So I could only imagine that it was the order of their results. As such, I chose the lowest forger to imbue.
They were still a two-star forger. Someone who would have some respect anywhere in the world.
I was a little hopeful that imbuing him would push my aura past the threshold as well. But there was no such luck.
Imbuing a crafting student was quite different to the others. A rush of information seemed to burn itself into my brain. But I also couldn't seem to access it consciously.
[Title: None,
Gift: Gaia's Academy (SSS),
Skills: Magus Core, Earth Magic, Bronze Skin, Forging(2★)]
It was as if my soul recognised how to use the forge, but my mind did not.
While my parents had made it clear that there was a difference between crafting using the skill or crafting with your heart.
It seemed that I would only be able to use the skill for the foreseeable future.
My body moved under the control of my spirit as it lit the furnace and began forging.
A few different blueprints of what I could make were in my mind.
I decided to focus on the most impressive thing my skills could currently make. A rank 2 Broadsword.
A weapon that would still be worth quite a bit.
With the materials on hand, I knew that I could make the sword. But it would be close. Any mistake would mean I didn't have a second chance.
My spirit took over even more once I chose the blueprint. It almost felt like I was watching a dream as my body was crafting the sword.
My parents had described using their Alchemy skills. It didn't sound anything like what was happening here.
It was almost beyond using the skill. The skill was using me. It was a disconcerting experience. But I couldn't argue with the results. A sword began to take shape in front of me.
Something I would have thought impossible days before.
By the time I emerged from the fugue state, close to four hours had passed. I was approaching the end of my time in the spirit world.
But I was happy with the sword I had in my hand. While I lacked any true skills to use it. Its weight felt good in my hand.
There were quite a few other blueprints I would have liked to make, but I wouldn't have the time to complete any of them.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
I went back to the tablet to see if I could do something with the sword.
I was pleased to see that the store had been updated.
[Specialised class(select): 10 AP
Common Teacher: 25 AP
Elite Teacher: 250 AP
Lesser Time Skip: 50 AP
Mission Hall: 1000 AP,
Records Hall: 2000 AP]
I was now able to deposit two items in a single day. Which would be a huge improvement.
It was unfortunate that the timer stopped me from using the second slot.
While it wouldn't be enough to afford an Elite Teacher every day. With the addition of the graduating students, it would be close.
There was also another building that I couldn't come close to being able to afford anytime soon.
I at least had some idea of what it was that a mission hall might be.
A records hall gave me quite a few more questions.
I put them from my mind as I wouldn't be getting them for quite some time.
It seemed that my gift wouldn't let me do anything with the items I had crafted. Which was a bit of a shame.
I did spend some time watching my new class. It was the first time I had paid a lot of attention to the little dots.
Watching them move between classes was quite interesting. I hoped there would be a few more talents in this batch.
I couldn't interact with them or the teachers at all while the year was ongoing. I hoped that it wouldn't be long before I could start a second year.
While there didn't seem to be a limit to the number of students that I could have in storage. I didn't want to leave them lying around for too long.
After making sure that everything was quiet in the town. I made my way back to the real world.
I was a little surprised to see someone waiting for me in my room.
Especially since it was someone I hadn't expected to see for a few weeks.
"Is it true?"
I could only look at my sister in bewilderment.
"Is what true?"
She gave me a quick look of annoyance.
"What Mom and Dad are saying about your gift. Are you telling the truth?"
Now that left me in a little bit of a dilemma, I didn't know what story Alice had been told.
I had the plan to tell her the truth either way, but it came a little sooner than I had expected.
"There's no way that you can give people abilities right?"
It seemed that my parents had told her the truth. I could only nod at her in return.
At my response, her face lit up. I was then grabbed into a bear hug. I was glad that I had imbued an Aura adept, as that was the only reason that she didn't break any of my bones.
"That's fantastic news. I can't believe that you awakened such a powerful gift."
I still couldn't believe it either.
"When did they tell you? Why are you back so soon?"
She gave me a look like I was an idiot.
"I couldn't miss my little brother's awakening week. Who do you think I am?"
I didn't want to mention that It was exactly what I had been expecting her to do.
She then spread her arms out wide and gave me an expectant look.
I stared at her for a few moments wondering what in the world she was doing.
"Come on, Zap me or whatever you do. I heard you gave Mom the power of a Mana Adept. I want something just as cool."
I brought out my tablet, but I was a little stumped about what student to imbue her with. After all her C rank gift made her a powerful but unpredictable fighter.
The A rank equivalent of her gift was one of the most powerful below the S rank. Elemental Aura.
Her Random Elemental Aura was a little less sought after. Not knowing what element her Aura would be attuned to at any one time made combat a little more difficult.
If there was a way to upgrade her gift then that was the way I would go. While I hadn't wanted to use Jayson. Giving her both 3-star forging and an Aura core would put her at the top of her class in an instant.
"What do you want? There are three different types in my gift. Mana, Aura or crafter?"
I didn't think she would want a healer even if I had one as an option.
She did seem to think about it for a few moments.
"I've not been able to take a crafting class this year. So it would bring up the least amount of concern if I could suddenly craft better. Both my aura and Magic teacher would be quite interested if I suddenly improved in either of them."
Well, that made it a little easier. Since she didn't want to increase her Aura, I ruled out Jayson. While her elemental aura did allow her to use some magic. She didn't have mana. So her enchanting would be reliant on her aura at the time.
I decided on the least talented forger available once again. I had seen enough that even the worst graduate was still impressive. I was only a little worried about how she would react to the crafting state.
Selecting her with my tablet, I gave her the skill of 2-star forging.
She at least had some skill in forging already, so I doubted she would have the same issue that I did.
"Wow, that is quite something. I feel amazing."
I gave her a few moments to let the new abilities sink in. But I did need to know if she had any more information than I did. While she wasn't at a premier Academy. It would still be respected. I had to know if they knew anything about what was coming.
