Breakfast was a little more difficult than I had hoped.
I had expected the twins to ask questions. But they were endless in their pursuit of knowledge.
Now that my parents thought that I had awakened a C-rank talent, they were too happy to stop them.
I tried my best to answer the questions. But there was only so much I could do.
I had lied that I had followed my parent's advice and incarnated in the Union of the Blue Star. The only force controlled by people from Blue Star.
But I only knew so much about them. Most of which I learned from forums. So I couldn't be sure how accurate it was.
I could see the slightest bit of concern growing in my parent's faces as my answers were continually vague.
It was only the end of breakfast that gave me some respite.
My parents gave me a look that made it clear that we would be talking later. While my siblings happily went off to school.
I was glad that I had taken the week off from school, as was the norm for people who were awakening.
Even with the free time, I would only have one more trip into the spirit world before my parents would be asking some real questions.
I spent the rest of the time waiting looking through everything I could about the academy.
With timers blocking most things. It wouldn't be until the next day that I could begin making some progress.
Thus I turned to the forums.
Gifts that gave spirit tools or items were rare by themselves. There were a few people who claimed that they had phones or other pieces of technology as their gifts. But their claims were vague.
I couldn't find anything concrete about anyone else having a similar gift.
My fruitless search was enough to pass the morning.
This time around I would be able to stay in the spirit world for four hours.
It was a little harder to consciously cross, but I soon found myself back in the abandoned house.
I was still alone, it seemed that Harold hadn't completed his scouting.
With the sun illuminating the room, it was clear that it hadn't been abandoned for too long. I couldn't find much dust or debris at all around.
I made my way out into the streets of the village. While I hadn't been able to use my newfound powers in the real world. The same was not true here.
I focused on my Earth Magic skill. Seeing what spells Mage Lauren had been able to learn.
It seemed even with her talent she had kept it simple.
Three First Circle Spells. Two Second Circle spells, and one Third Circle Spell.
The standard make-up of a beginner Mage.
It took a few moments of concentration, but with the aid of the skill, I was soon casting my first spell.
A powerful defensive spell. The First Circle Earth Wall.
I could feel the mana leave my body, as the earth in front of me began to heave. Rising up to protect me.
I couldn't help but stare at my hands in wonder. A process that should have taken me years, was done in less than a day.

The few other first-circle spells came almost as easy. While the Second Circle spells were more of an effort.
Both of her chosen Second Circle spells were quite advanced. Pseudo Third-Circle Spells.
One was the Second Circle Summoning spell Mud Golem. That along with the Second Circle reinforcement spell of Rock Armour made for a powerful combination. I had some fun playing around with the Mud Golem.
I then turned my eyes to her Third Circle Spell. She hadn't gone easy with this one either.
The third Circle spell took nearly five minutes of concentrated effort to cast.
When the large stone golem rose from the earth, I almost whooped in joy.
While Mage Lauren had been straightforward in her growth. The spells she had chosen had shown the path she had wanted to take.
After a few moments of playing around with the Golem, I nearly died of shock as a person appeared beside me. Going down into a deep bow as soon as he appeared.
"Greetings Headmaster, I am glad you have returned. I come baring dire news."
My lack of concentration sent the golem back into the earth. Its sudden dismissal creating a cloud of dirt all around us.
After a few moments spent coughing, and waiting for the dust to settle. I turned to Teacher Harold.
He didn't seem at all affected by the sudden dust storm.
"What have you discovered?"
If a person at the level of a Grand Knight thought it was bad news, then I was sure that for me it would be far worse.
"All of the local townsfolk left their towns and villages a few days ago. The majority of them are trying to enter the walled city about half a day's walk to the east."
While that was curious, it didn't seem that bad. Harold's face turned grave as he continued.
"I overheard from the townsfolk mentions of monsters emerging from the ocean. The descriptions match the weakest of the Dread Beasts."
Harold said that with a tone of finality.
It was unfortunate that I had no idea what he was talking about.
While there were plenty of beasts and monsters in the spirit world. I had never heard mention of anything called a Dread Beast.
"Harold. What is a Dread Beast?"
He seemed to stare at me for a few moments, I couldn't discern what he was thinking. The time stretched further before his eyes lit up. Bowing slightly he began to answer.
"Of course Headmaster. Dread Beasts are the servants of the Realm Destroyers. Where they go, their masters will soon follow. Thus spelling the doom for all life in the realm."
Now that sounded bad. I had never heard of such a thing, but the conviction in the way Harold was speaking made it difficult to doubt him.
"Fortunately the peasants say that they have only appeared in the past few months. Which means that this realm still has a few years left."
While Harold seemed strangely optimistic about that, there was no way I could feel the same.
The spirit world had become the most important thing on Blue Star. The thought of it being destroyed in a few years seemed impossible.
"Will we be able to enter the city?"
I had to talk to some of the nearby people for myself. I didn't want to believe what Harold was saying.
Harold almost seemed offended that I asked him that.
"The strongest person in that city is a Grand Knight. There should be no problems entering whenever we wish."
Well, I guess it wouldn't be an issue to enter the city.
Reaching it was a different thing altogether. I would want to make the journey in one go. Which meant that it would be a few days before I had the spirit power to stick around for that long.
With two hours left. I spent the time scavenging the local village. There wasn't much of value, but I did manage to find a nice cloak.
I told Harold to scout away from the village, to see if he could find where these Dread Beasts currently were.
If the village was going to be overrun soon. I thought it would be helpful to know.
That would be the first thing I would be looking up when I got back. I had to know if others knew about it.
I was one of the rare otherworlders who were on the edge of the spirit world. But I couldn't be the only one.
While I was thousands of miles away from the central powers. There were over six billion people from Blue Star in the Spirit World.
I was sure that a few others had at least seen the beasts the natives were talking about.
With my pillaging of the village complete. And my time in the spirit world coming to a close, I made my way back to the empty house.
Returning to my room in the real world, I was more than a little concerned to see both of my parents waiting for me.
It seemed the questioning had come a lot quicker than I was expecting.
I had tried thinking about a few excuses during my time in the spirit world. But the thought of lying to my parents made me feel worse and worse.
We sat staring at each other for a few moments.
It was my father who took the lead this time around.
"What is your real gift? Where did you Incarnate?"
